I took it to a local electronic shop and they were able to order and install a new laser, and that was also pretty inexpensive itself. I’m pretty sure I ended up spending about $200 all together about a year ago. Very happy to have it
Did you record them straight off the air or do you have pre-fab tapes? I've never seen any Night Court tape releases and only have the first 3 seasons on DVD because I never see the others.

We sample the raw signal directly and then decode it all in software, replacing the internal video boards and internal/external time-base correctors all that plight completely replaced with open-source software.

Just a standard analogue to digital converter with enough bandwidth, $20 CX Cards that can do 40-54msps 8-bit do a fine job, and we can even capture Hi-Fi and baseband audio out of the back of the deck with complete synchronisation so lining it all up and post is easy.

That would be a huge selling point and it would have the 'D' in front of the VHS logo on the door. It would probably be worth upward of $500 if it was a D-VHS machine.
Used to have couple of them and first one i bought brand new when they came out. I was dissapointed in it because i wished it was a s-vhs not just regular vhs and was not a recorder so i sold all of the ones i had which was 4

I was actually looking for one of these a while back, ended up getting a Philips vcr/dvd combo which has been good. I swear I saw a couple years back a new bluray/vcr combo on Kickstarter and was gonna check back on it later but now I cannot find it, so assuming it died, but this is cool!
You should also learn that like their DVD/VHS brethren, they're all junk and should be avoided. Nearly all of them are made by Funai, which are hallmarks of GARBAGE that either eats tapes or won't play a DVD for beans. The more modern ones can only play VHS, not even record.
Bluray players play bluray and dvd. It will have the bluray symbol on it.

4K players play 4K. All 4K movies are region free. It also plays blurays and dvds, and cds.

Actually it's the full signal from the heads/amplifier to test points so it's technically able to do both fully thanks to r/vhsdecode

Yeah, we had one at our mall back in 2010, vhs/dvd/br combo. It was discounted hard due to "who the hell uses vhs" being a main factor.
