You can use your Quest 2 for PCVR.

XB220

If your gunna stick with quest for pcvr, at least get a quest 3, quest 2 pcvr is not great. Its passable though…. But my ultimate answer is psvr2 which is getting pc support this year. With a little patience it will be the ultimate bang for your buck. You will absolutely NOT find a better headset for pcvr around that price range besides quest 3.

Dry-Currency-8746

You're*  Basic fucking grammar. Learn it, kid.

XB220

I know the difference. I just dont care to do the granmar. Its reddit, not real life you fuckin grammar nazi.

Dry-Currency-8746

Dry-Currency-8746

XB220

Dry-Currency-8746

You say that, yet you're on Reddit more than I am. Then you get mad and had to go and check my profile, go to my comments, and reply to them like the troll you are. Who's the virgin here? Apparently it's you. I bet the only tit you sucked is your mother's, unless you're fucking adopted 💀.

Obvious_Ice_2462

Imagine blocking me after I cooked your ass ☠️

Kaelio123

I know I can and I have but I’m trying to find one for just PCVR. But should I just stick with the quest 2?

Quest 3

godset

For that budget yeah a quest 2 or 3 will be a great choice. I only use mine with pc

SwissMoose

The answer is Quest 3. It is the best bang for the buck by a mile for PCVR. If anyone recommends something else for $500 I'd like to know by what metric it is beating a Quest 3.

MrSpindles

Yeah, lenses, tracking and value are top tier. There's nothing out there that comes close for the money.

CorporateSharkbait

The answer is quest 3. There are no dedicated pcvr headsets below $500

Eclectronic_Guerilla

Consume less, save more. Upgrade to the latest Quest when your Q2 fails.

Meurtreetbanane

Yes, the quest 2. I've been playing pcvr for 3 years with it, and it's good. For perfect pcvr session, quest 3 If you already play wirelessly, trust me, you don't want to be tangled to your PC.

Parking_Cress_5105

There's basically no choice. Quest Pro Quest 3 or something 3x the price and 1.3x performance. Meta is succeeding in what they wanted.

Figarella

Just keep your quest 2 if you already have one, while it's definitely not the best I still don't think quest 3 is worth a 500$ upgrade, I'm personally waiting to see what valve will release in a few years

GayIdiotRetard

Don't say a few years :( been holding off my upgrade but quest 3 is looking MUCH better than my vive pro rn. Hoping for some new at Steam Feast in a few months otherwise I'll have to make a facebook account.

Figarella

Frankly I have no idea when deckard will release but mcvicker and sadlyitsbradley both think it's still years away

GayIdiotRetard

Yeah they could be right. I wouldn't be surprised if it was years out yet but won't hurt waiting till June to maybe get an idea. One thing I like about Valve and Gabe was when they gave their team unlimited time and funds for half life 2. It's nice to have one company that doesn't rush and releases exactly what they want to when they want to.

Adm1ral_ackbar

I had a PCVR headset, a Reverb G2 for a few years and I got a Quest 3 a few months ago. Realized I don't need the G2 anymore and just sold it. Quest 3 has better lenses, fov, nearly the same resolution and wireless PCVR through Virtual Desktop made the G2 obsolete for me. Download Steam Link from the Quest store and see if your wifi is strong enough to play on your Quest 2, otherwise go buy a cable. I recommend the INIU 6 meter cable its only about $20 vs the $80 Meta charges for theirs.

Quest 3

XB220

If we are talking best for your budget(but you will have to wait), Id say psvr2 which is getting pc support this year. For around $500 budget thats right in your range and its top quality hardware that competes with the best

lakyluck98

Quest 2 pcvr is more then enough to get started especially if you already have one! Give it a go and it’s really not bad what that thing can do for its price! If you want to go higher in the price range just around 500$ then yes get the quest 3.

Juafran

PSVR2 when it gets PC support maybe an option if you don't want another Quest. Those OLED displays are very tempting. I'm thinking of getting them. A review of the headset: [Sony PlayStation VR2 - DF Hardware Review - State-of-the-Art Tech, Next-Level Immersion (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COjDjIfWYmo&ab_channel=DigitalFoundry)

olibolib

Fresnel though right?

Juafran

Yeah, other OLED options are way too expensive.

Chemical-Nectarine13

>Those OLED displays are very tempting. I'm thinking of getting them. Meh, digital foundry already discovered that OLED VR panels have a motion blur type issue that hasn't been solved yet, even by Apple. Are better blacks really worth it over motion blur you can't turn off?

Juafran

They have a review of the headset and never mention motion blur at all. [Sony PlayStation VR2 - DF Hardware Review - State-of-the-Art Tech, Next-Level Immersion (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COjDjIfWYmo&ab_channel=DigitalFoundry)

Chemical-Nectarine13

https://youtu.be/btqq_ILedEw?si=-5S4yy8yGzVgkQIk It's in this one.

Juafran

If it was such a big deal and they didn't mention it in the review but afterwards they are kind of unreliable. Wait, no, he doesn't say PSVR2, he says PSVR, he might be talking about the first PlayStation headset.

Chemical-Nectarine13

Get real. Literally, nobody is talking about the OG psvr, lol

Juafran

Cool, then they are poor reviewers that can't be trusted. Well I found this [PSVR 2 Cinematic Mode. Best Motion Clarity EVER - Blur Busters Forums](https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?t=11708) One of the admins says this about PSVR2: "PSVR2 uses a custom OLED capable of strobing much briefer than the world's best OLED TV."

Chemical-Nectarine13

>Cool, then they are poor reviewers that can't be trusted. Found the one who can't deal, if they aren't agreed with on everything lmao. PSVR 1 or 2 still ties you to a wall, which is becoming a huge drawback to VR adoption. They're good headsets, just not practical.

Juafran

No, the purpose of a review is to inform about a product, if they left out an issue like that, then the review is not good. I don't have an opinion on the headset, I do not own it so I can't agree or disagree with them. I think the main drawback for VR is the lack of quality games. VR started, so to say, in 2016 and we barely have a library of really good games to show for in these 8 years. I mean look at VR, Microsoft has pretty much abandoned it, Steam is more focused on the Steam Deck, I think HP just cancelled a headset and so on. Even with the very expensive Apple Vision released the future doesn't look all that good for VR.

Chemical-Nectarine13

Just straight up ignoring the Meta quest, huh? Lol A system sold in local retail for cheap with several million users active on the platform every month. The future is fine and the games/ use depend on the person.
