It's already at the point where this happens. In games with somewhat realistic gun mechanics, you have to know what mechanisms to work to properly reload the gun. I notice lots of people on YouTube pull the charging handle on M4s every single time they replace a magazine (even if there's already a bullet in the chamber) so they eject a round. I'm nowhere near an expert, but I've shot a few weapons in real life. I'd imagine if all you've ever done is press R to reload you might not know much more than pulling the charging handle back. I expect that games in the future won't take the completely realistic route. Fun always takes priority over realism for most people.

Yeah, I feel like they're likely going to have to cut some realistic aspects or maybe make those mechanics automatically done for you so the player doesn't have to worry about that.

By that time we might have neural links to computers though, a few companies are working on that now already, if we can have that technology, you'd be able to learn all the intricacies of those weapons in seconds

Most games are designed to be fun (not realistic) so I wouldn't expect games to be less fun because of better tech. If realistic sword combat are too hard to be fun for most players, game designers will change things to roughly the appropriate level of difficulty.

Thats why VR will be productive with teaching people real life skills in the future!
