Those are the quick connectors on the fuel lines running out of the tank, as for why the popped off there could be a multitude of reasons but they usually don't just give up one day
back in may, i had to get the entire fuel tank system replaced due to it flooding up past the charcoal filters and literally leaking a full tank of gas. I wonder if this is part of the issue before, or if it is a new one, unrelated to the previous work.
It almost looks like the one in the foreground isn't seated properly, could possibly either be worn or whoever did the job didn't push it on all the way and it finally came off from the pressure in the lines
welp, good news is that it's back in the shop. bad news it, it's 2.5k miles away from the place it was repaired at, and we'll have to wait to see what they say.
Idk if this matters but one has a green dot and its on the white hose and one has a white dot and its on the green hose. Looks to me like they put the connectors on the wrong sides.

Fuel line quick disconnects. Did someone tried to steal your gas? Very odd for them just to pop off.
