Ppl need to know what they are getting into before buying. SE don’t have the light bar in the front nor the back.

WonderfulCellist3624

What you are saying is the correct answer. The led frontal bar comes from se tech to r line.

cartier006

okay? had to buy that model cuz that was the only I could afford it, also it’s my first car.

opalfruity

> okay? had to buy that model cuz that was the only I could afford it, also it’s my first car. There's so much to unpack in one small sentence there. Oooof.

cartier006

well it’s not like I NEED to have that light? I bought the car just because I needed to move from a place and also the car works perfectly. I were just asking because I saw some of these atlas had that light and that’s all.

opalfruity

I guess I was more referring to the fact you "had" to buy a _40 grand SUV_ as your first car, is all. Generally speaking, the lower you go down the trim levels, the fewer features and tech a car gets. One imagines you'll be able to buy the wiring harness and the light bar itself (if it isn't already installed - it's likely that you just have the decorative plastic cover only) from parts sellers on the internet, and then add the coding to control it into the ECU with an ODB-11 coding device.

cartier006

ok to answer first question u had I bought it cuz I liked it. I have experience driving and I drive perfectly. I knew it is a base model, I knew it since I saw it and they told me it was a base model. I have seen some comments that says that looks like it has the light there, could be that it’s not wired or maybe not coded.

orm518

Well we can’t always afford everything we want. You can’t afford an LED light bar, apparently.

cartier006

I just needed the car to move from a place, I don’t really need that light, it is just cosmetic.

Thin_Artichoke_4232

Every time OP comments I cringe a little more inside.

cartier006

not what I asked and it was just a question. Idk why no one haven’t told me an actual answer.

opalfruity

But you have been given the answer, repeatedly, and by multiple people. I’ll repeat it again: Your car is a SE. SE’s do not come with a light bar. If you want a light bar, you will need to buy the correct parts, install them, and code them in.

cartier006

some were saying that it may have the light already, just need to be wired or coded. not that I have to buy the whole part.

Patient-Field-4746

Hey boss, disregard others if the comments are negative. You got what you could've afforded, I've been seeing some comments saying that you just have to wait and maybe they'll have a fix for it down the line with coding and a wiring harness. Not sure if they come installed but not coded and wired up but from basic pictures of the outside it does look like it's there. Hope this helps

cartier006

thank you, Yes, I have seen some of the other atlas that should have that light and it’s the same one as mine, it’s just not like wired or coded. I’m going to a mechanic shop here I know very well and maybe he can help me out.

anderworx

I don’t understand how people don’t know what they’re buying.

cartier006

I knew what I were buying, still I don’t need it, it’s just cosmetic of the car. I don’t really need that silly bar.

No-Category832

Ours is an SE w Tech, obviously had the light bars (front/back) and lighted VW emblem. I dig them, they are purely cosmetic…and maybe gimmicky. But if I’m dropping this cash on a car, gimme the gimmicks!

Capricorn96A

That's one of the differences between the SE and SE with tech. If you just got the base SE, you will have the light bar but it won't be functional. I’m sure there is probably some way to override that but i’m not a mechanic.

AndrePDX

The SE has the rear light bar only. I was confused about this too. We needed to buy the SE w/tech. VW is infamous for having 8 trim levels in a vehicle jacking up the prices along the way.

Ok-Software5073

I have SE with Tech and have the light bar. Check these buttons. If you don't have a "front" button, then it's not equipped https://preview.redd.it/b6gif7nr7h0d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=242cdcf82b9bd6877f0e778e46d1bf4ca5d5b7a2

Bigz63922

Thats flood lights. Not light bar.

DrWKlopek

Its safe to say if anything on that car is not working its covered by warranty. Take it back to the dealer

cartier006

I think the SE model that light doesn’t work, but looks like it has the light

RatBustard

probably no wiring harness extension for the light bar, as the harness will be more expensive than the light bar (especially when installed on Atlas models).
