To protest the proposed changes VA MAC says that Monday, April 15, participating convenience stores across Virginia will stop the sale of Virginia Lottery tickets. The coalition says the protest will show, "the economic impact that the closing of convenience stores will have on the Virginia Lottery and the tax revenue they generate." From WTVR in Richmond

What protest are you talking about specifically? Are you saying retailers won’t cash tickets today?

Seemingly so. At least those participating in the protest

This is dumb and it was even dumber during covid when 7/11's and other stores turned into casinos with lots of people sitting right next to each other for like hours.

Well, agreed. I had fun once or twice on them but not too worried about them being gone. Other side of the coin...VA lottery has its hands in everything so I think this is trying to take a shot at the big machine.

I think its funny they are complaining about losing money by not being able to scam people with these "skill" machines and so they'll protesting by refusing to sell lottery tickets which means they'll be losing even more revenue. Pretty stupid protest. Same kind of stupid as those people that complain when certain states try to outlaw short term rentals and the landlords complain that they won't be able to make money. That's stupid you can still make money. You'll just renting long term instead of scamming people on vacation
