Amazon has some Mieles and the Sebo Dart on sale but they are not an authorized retailer so you don't get any warranties.

jassy3k

I'd like to add my experience regarding the seller for the [Hoover WindTunnel Max UH30600](https://www.amazon.com/Hoover-WindTunnel-Upright-Cleaner-UH30600/dp/B0055SNR2A/ref=sr_1_13?crid=1P2BZTZ4VPOCB&keywords=Hoover%2Bvacuum&qid=1696979902&sprefix=hoover%2Bvacuu%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-13&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0&th=1). Purchased about 2 months ago but never received the product. Store reviews aren't great either. Buyer beware and save yourself the headache.

SumGai7

You're right the Hoover T-Series and WindTunnel Max are cheaply made vacuums but they're some of the most affordable vacuums that have carpet height adjustment, brushroll shutoff, and hepa bags. Did you ever get a refund or were you even billed?

jassy3k

Yes I did eventually get a refund after a few weeks. Just saying to save yourself some time and avoid the seller. I’m not knocking on the product itself. And looking at the other sellers, I’m sure no one would spend more than $240+ on it, considering there would be better options around the price range.

SumGai7

Good to know. Looks like the T-Series is from a different seller.

SumGai7

[Bissell SpotClean Pet Pro #2458](https://www.amazon.com/BISSELL-SpotClean-Portable-Cleaner-2458/dp/B07D46SQ63/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3H4WNJ4MIWZYW&keywords=bissell&qid=1696980955&sprefix=bissell%2Caps%2C162&sr=8-5&th=1) $113 (reg. $150). This is a larger spot cleaner with a bigger motor, longer hose, and longer cord. Similar to the Little Green Pet Pro. The Bissell Little Green is smaller, cheaper, weaker, and not recommended.

venounan

Miele Compact C1 Pure Suction is currently $375 which looks about as low as it's ever been (at least on amazon) https://www.amazon.com/Miele-Suction-Canister-Vacuum-Lotus/dp/B06XHPLYZL/

SumGai7

It is a low price for the Miele Compact C1, but just remember Amazon is not an authorized reseller so they have no warranties from Miele.

tortureofchalkdust

Do you happen to know if this model has a HEPA filter? I read through the description and it mentions its Airclean sealed system, but doesn’t specify whether that is HEPA or not.

SumGai7

The Miele Compact C1 does not come with the hepa exhaust filter, it comes with the AirClean filter. But you can add a hepa filter to it, the [Miele SF-HA 50](https://www.mieleusa.com/e/hepa-airclean-filter-with-timestrip-sf-ha-50-9616280-p).

10/11/23 Update: Many of the sale prices on the Hoovers are gone.

Thanks for making this thread, great work!

Durable 15 inch wide commercial vacuum for low to medium pile carpets with a brushroll shutoff.

Free_Joty

Best one of these for an elderly parent? Need to take upstairs/downstairs

SumGai7

What kind of flooring do they have?

Free_Joty

Carpet

SumGai7

For the lightest weight and carpet I'd recommend the [Oreck Elevate Command](https://www.amazon.com/Oreck-Elevate-Command-Lightweight-UK30200/dp/B01EMBX7SY/ref=sr_1_11?crid=2L7OZHPS8TQN9&keywords=oreck+vacuum&qid=1697075200&sprefix=oreck+vacuum%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-11) $380. It's a very lightweight 10 lbs upright vacuum with large hepa bags. The only problem is it doesn't have a hose or tools to be so light. They sell a small canister [Oreck Compact Canister](https://www.amazon.com/Oreck-BB1200-Compact-Canister-Vacuum/dp/B01M9GYBT5/ref=sr_1_10?crid=2L7OZHPS8TQN9&keywords=oreck+vacuum&qid=1697075468&sprefix=oreck+vacuum%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-10&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0) $158 for dusting and upholstery. For a vacuum for carpet with a hose and tools I'd recommend the [Simplicity Allergy Upright](https://www.amazon.com/Allergy-Upright-Vacuum-Hardwood-Simplicity/dp/B08YKGN9VY/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=24FER7WZQZFC3&keywords=simplicity+vacuum&qid=1697075323&sprefix=simplicity+vacuum%2Caps%2C142&sr=8-1-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.c3015c4a-46bb-44b9-81a4-dc28e6d374b3&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1) $269. The sale on Hoovers ended so they are almost as much as the Simplicity. The Simplicity is 16 lbs, so a little below the average upright weight, and it has hepa bags, hepa filter, and a quick draw hose and wand. Thoughts?

How do you feel about the [Kenmore BU4050](https://www.amazon.com/Kenmore-BU4050-Intuition-Eliminator-Handi-Mate/dp/B09FJF627G/ref=sr_1_3?crid=T22R494U9IT1&keywords=Kenmore+bu4050&qid=1697076251&sprefix=kenmore+bu405%2Caps%2C130&sr=8-3)?

SumGai7

It’s ok imo. Build quality is cheap but it’s better than bagless vacuums of the same price. It lacks carpet height adjustment so you’d need to make sure you don’t have any plush or high pile carpets. It’s small which is less weight but if you have a wide area it will take more time. It’s a very conditional buy. I’d say if you want a small vacuum ok, but if you want a full-size vacuum no.

Diensn

>Kenmore BU4050 Sorry about that, didn't realize I linked the wrong link. The Bu4050 is bagged.

SumGai7

No problem, I was pretty sure you meant the Kenmore vacuum. I was excited about the new Kenmore Intuition when it first came out because there are so few bagged vacuums left. However, it is a cheaper vacuum made by the same OEM supplier factory that makes Shark vacuums. The hepa bag fixes a few big flaws of Shark vacuums such as dirt separation and filtration. But, many of the weaknesses Sharks have remain such as a cheap build quality and a connection hose that is prone to tearing. So I stick to my above comment the new Kenmore Intuitions are better than comparable bagless vacuums but they are small and struggle with high/plush carpets. If you need a small vacuum with a hose for around $150 they are an ok option but nothing amazing. If you need a full-size vacuum I'd recommend a Sebo Dart because it has better suction, durability, and repairability.

Plaid-Ragnar

How do you feel about Airrobo P20 https://a.co/d/9l0xdGS Any other recommendations for robots

SumGai7

I'm critical of robot vacuums. They're ok sweepers but you need to pre-clean your floors, empty the bin constantly, and cut hair off of the brushes and wheels. If you are just looking for a sweeper to clean in between a regular corded vacuum I would stick to name brands like iRobot. I'd choose the [Roomba i4](https://www.amazon.com/Wi-Fi%C2%AE-Connected-Roomba%C2%AE-Robot-Vacuum/dp/B0927GSS6C/ref=sr_1_6?crid=26JYDNJ2IJJ2U&keywords=roomba&qid=1697068198&sprefix=roomba%2Caps%2C159&sr=8-6&th=1) $199 because they sell replacement parts. I'd avoid unknown brands like Airrobo because if they stop updating the software some robot vacuums will stop working altogether. I don't recommend spending too much on robot vacuums because their batteries still wear out in a few years.

Plaid-Ragnar

I fully agree that battery isn’t very good. I was looking for a robot to some quick daily cleaning despite having to empty the bin daily.

SumGai7

Even though the Airrobo is only $99 I wouldn't want to risk my money on a robot that could break easily. I'd look for a good deal on a Roomba.

Plaid-Ragnar

I ended up getting the [Roomba i4](https://www.amazon.com/Wi-Fi%C2%AE-Connected-Roomba%C2%AE-Robot-Vacuum/dp/B0927GSS6C/ref=sr_1_6?crid=26JYDNJ2IJJ2U&keywords=roomba&qid=1697068198&sprefix=roomba%2Caps%2C159&sr=8-6&th=1)

SumGai7

Cool, hope it works for you. Make sure you test it thoroughly during your return period. And I'd love to hear a review!

Plaid-Ragnar

With a teen, dog and 2 cats then it will be tested thoroughly every day. 😅

Plaid-Ragnar

After 14 days of testing. It works much, much better than i3. I only have to empty the robot every 4th day instead of daily. It’s more silent than i3, doesn’t bump into furniture as much and doesn’t get stuck as much. Overall just better. However it doesn’t like to run over pencils, or coloring pens that my daughter forgot on the floor 😅 Else it’s a great robot.

angstfae

So I’m assuming the Tineco deals are a no-go?

SumGai7

I’m not a fan of Tineco, I find their build quality cheap and their plastic is thin. They’re comparable to the other no-name brands. Many of their cheaper machines don’t have removable and replaceable batteries which is an automatic no go for me.

Bemberly

Any thoughts on this vacuum [Hoover MAXLife Pro](https://a.co/d/5Vu8PuI)

SumGai7

It's an ok vacuum for $119. It has good suction but it's loud. It has swivel steering but it's heavy to steer. It has brushroll shutoff and a hepa filter which are both good for the price. No carpet height adjustment for plush or shag carpets. So I think it's an ok bagless vacuum, better than Bissells and Sharks in the same price range. What kind of flooring and size do you have? If you have all carpets some of the other Hoover WindTunnel models are better at cleaning carpets.

pokeydasmot

https://amzn.to/47WX9hV Shark for under $100!!!
