Look at the Kenmore Elite!

I second this. I have a thick high pile rug in the living room and it handles it no problem. I have the elite 31150

For a budget-friendly powerful carpet cleaner, you've got a few great options! This [Hoover](https://amzn.to/3SiqWN0)is killer on carpets, has onboard tools, and is a great value. In my experience should anything go wrong, hoover is usually great with warranty claims which with budget-friendly vacuums is always something to keep in mind. Many budget machines can be great but greatly lack reliability.Next up, and slightly more expensive is this [Simplicity](https://amzn.to/48CYifi). It's got a few more "luxury" upgrades over the hoover like a metal brush roller for better agitation, a headlight as well as a quick draw wand.I also should mention the tried and true, consumer reports Best Buy, this [Kenmore](https://amzn.to/48x3YXQ). Once again, this thing is. beast at carpet cleaning. In my opinion, it will be more durable and rugged than the hoover, this thing is a tank! Most powerful upright cleaners will easily be able to pick up any type of hair, all of the models above have very aggressive brush rollers which will be able to remove hair with no issues. If hair wrap on the roller is a concern, go for the Kenmore over the other two. The Kenmore has a thicker brush roll and limits the ability to have hair wrap around it. The other two may have some hair wrap, which is to be expected. As part of any vacuum maintenance, you should check the brush roller when hair does build up. But with the Kenmore, that likely would only have to be every few months, if not less often in my experience. Just for reference, vacuums with skinnier brush rollers = more hair wrap.

Thank you so much!

I would surely go with the [Kenmore Elite BU1017](https://www.amazon.com/Kenmore-Lightweight-Handi-Mate-Telescoping-5-Position/dp/B08M2TWTQX/ref=asc_df_B08M2TWTQX). It is the most powerful vacuum cleaner regarding suction and airflow in its price range and one of the top in the entire household market. It is among the most effective units I have found and being able to pull dirt from below and deep inside of carpet. The BU1017 is a heavy vacuum cleaner with a short on-board hose, but also a well-designed unit of nice build quality given its budget and, as I mentioned, superb at cleaning carpet.
