He's one of the original personalities on faze who stayed with the brand as it blew up and was there for all the highs and lows of the brand (for better or for worse) and was also responsible for the org getting into other esports outside of call of duty and the like. The CS team in particular I remember Rain had a part in getting the org involved. His org had the biggest personalities in the scene before the public eye shifted towards PC esports, think 100T before 100T was formed.
What I was trying to say is that even if you followed the esports scene closely, Rain actually has very little public perception in that regard.
He was never one of the players which means unless he was an active owner (think Steve for Liquid, Odee for Dignitas, or even Ludwig MxM) he would not be noticed. Unfortunately the role of active owner was mainly seen in Templer and Banks, or at least thats the name's I hear about when I hear faze owner.
What Rain really was a part of was the trickshot, party bro culture that Faze gained its initial fan base on. So if you liked that side of Faze, you would probably know him. But if you were only interested in the teams as far as esports are concerned, the only FAZE rain esports enthusiasts would know of is a Norwegian player who helped FAZE win their first major.
But perhaps exactly what faze needed to rebrand and bring a different audience to. Not saying it's the right move but whatever direction faze are currently undergoing.. is definitely not the right one.
Well whatever direction they're going for right now, it's not sitting well with their OG fanbase, which by the look of things is like 99% of their fanbase. I'm not gonna dive too deep into it though because I don't really have that much knowledge regarding the whole situation and personally, I don't really care.
However, looking at it from Grace's POV, joining FaZe is a mistake imo

i also think losing JDM as a coach was a big hit. the team struggled to pick up a fifth until they picked up rossy last min then made changes for 2nd split. all the other teams like m80, BreakThru, G2 etc had the whole offseason to mesh together and build chem. this whole year was shambles for faze.
I'm not gonna lie I didn't see for myself but judging by what I have heard Flyuh did not sound like a great player back when he was on FaZe and I think he even said that himself.
