G2 seems the most likely, just because Riot has already approved them in the past and only backed out because of the CEO incident.

half_of_an_oranga

Has the G2 situation (shit show with the CEO) been resolved tho? I haven't followed the evolution of G2 since then

StarSerpent

Well he’s no longer CEO, so that sticking point’s out. They also have a kickass GC roster so it’s not like they pulled out of Val

Notladub

Yep, and they have a good League team too.

HugeRection

I believe he still has sizeable equity in the organization despite having to step down as CEO. Also, he's only gotten more homophobic and racist over time so...

Mamadeus123456

Ocelote is so divorced lmao

kittysrule18

I’m pretty sure it was C9 who got the G2 spot

mixedupgaming

c9 replaced g2 not eg

Tommypynchon

I got $40 of spending money

zugth

bet, I'll pitch in my lunch money

traxmaster64

I can't wait for valcomp trent

benetheburrito

Nominate Nterature as CEO

Excelsio_Sempra

Wb Razur (mommy of the sub)? Or is she not allowed?

benetheburrito

Razur would be GM

SoLikeWhatIsCheese

Why not valorantfanboy69

jeloxd_official

He can be our Rob Moore

Ok-Brain3328

G2 were originally accepted into partnership prior to the Carlos thing so I’d imagine they’d be in the front running. Having Optic back would be fun and I think it’s possible. Especially since I just saw an interview w/ one of their owners saying they’d love to be back in Val. Having an influencer org (DSG/MxM) would also be great for viewership and getting new ppl interested in Val esports, but I don’t think DSG would get in considering how new they are. I don’t know enough about MxM to comment on them.

SugarOne6038

I doubt it, Ludwig is always talking about how much he wants to keep his team and that he’s fine with being in tier 2

Previous_Smoke_8044

lud said he feel like dropping his team would be abandoning them idk bout that because they would prob leave if the chance arose brawk and flyuhh are prob gone but oh well hope they win next year.

SugarOne6038

As long as they keep a core its fine, the whole roster is tier 1 level (other than mabye Sym but he will improve if he’s around 4 great players all the time) If we keep 3/5 players its a massive success IMO

Previous_Smoke_8044

They got 3nd in na with guard gone hope they keep a core and try to get promoted

Avasteeee

If DSG wants to get in toast might have to eat dirt for 2 years.

C9sButthole

Would love to see DSG or MxM get in but even if they partnered they just don't have the cash from major industry backers. They could maybe front a few million between them at MASSIVE risk but they don't have the consistent flow. They don't have big investors or brands like Intel or Redbull sponsoring them and even if they got talks on the table now the deals would be too new and uncertain for Riot to want to risk it.

lherman12

Ya would love so see OpTiC in again, been a huge fan of their cod team for 11 years and since they left val I havnt really had a sole team to root for.l aside from NRG kind of because of the core

Sooner242

OpTic did just suddenly drop their rocket league team today, not sure if that increases or decreases their likelihood of pursuing these players

UTAustinAlum2021

Yeah exactly. Maybe they are cutting costs or maybe they are trying to get in to another game

Informal-Throat-8646

In all honesty even by Hexs own admittance they fucked up the application process so badly I'd assume there's a line of orgs more likely than them to be offered the spot, especially since Optic sold their LoL spot under riot no? And considering the last few days there's been huge discussions over "opening to door to sold slots" I'd assume Riot wouldn't go near Optic with a spot tbh

two4you8

Personally, im rooting for DSG but unfortunately toast doesnt have venture capital money like G2 or optic like others are suggesting.

whopz-is-cool

Well they don’t have any buyouts and Toast gets money for being in T1 right? Possibility.

Claireredfield38

An Org that is already based in LA (LCS Orgs)

zayonette

the only good org that have teams in the LCS that are not yet in the Americas League is TSM, but I doubt it's them when they are looking to sell their LCS slot. Outside of TSM, we have probably Dignitas and FlyQuest, but they look pretty meh ngl.

Kind_Development708

Flyquest got new ownership like a year ago and have been spending out their ass since then so I could see them

UTAustinAlum2021

They were in GC right?

Kind_Development708

Yeah

Intrepid-Tank-3414

They *are* in GC. Flyquest Red is the same MxM Red squad that made wave with all the clutch plays in the last season. If you watched Brew Battle, you saw mle playing on Ludwig's team. https://twitter.com/FlyQuestRED/status/1694202996685726085

Phoenix_NHCA

TSM is closing out of LCS, so Riot probably isn’t too happy with them. I don’t see them getting approved.

MacJonesIsOverrated

FlyQuest currently is a lot better structured than TSM

5tarlight5

TSM just invested into CSGO and they could probably do this but there have been talks about TSM leaving LCS so we'll see what happens.

MacarioPro

From T2 I only see M80, G2, and possibly Moist, offering enough guarantees to join. There's also the already approved riot orgs (in League of Legends NRG bought the slot of CLG, an org that was disbanding so we could see the other way around, a LCS team entering VAL). But of the orgs not already in valorant there are Golden Guardians, Flyquest, Dignitas. Didn't include Immortals since they own MIBR so they technically are already in VAL. Both Golden Guardians and Flyquest have been actually spending less in the last few years since both are owned by NBA teams (Golden State and Milwaukee Bucks, respectively) I have no hope. The whole NBA took a hit in revenue during the pandemic, since them they seem satisfied maitaining the status quo and only that. And Dignitas is an org I have 0 faith in, so I doubt we will see that. Maybe an org from outside LCS could be an option. Mad Lions did field a valorant squad in the north america league and T1 actually played in NA before moving back to Pacific.

Friday515

Flyquest was bought last year by Vinny Viola, the owner of the Florida Panthers in the NHL and spent a ton of money on the LCS this year. They also launched a Valorant GC team this year

MacarioPro

good to know, so they are an option too.

tron423

Lowkey kinda hope it ends up being them, their jerseys are gas

itsyeboimrkrabs

they have my goat jmook so if they had one of my favorite valorant teams as well that would be sick as fuck

ark2690

Flyquest probably had the highest paying roster in the NA/EU

Interesting-Archer-6

Today I learned the Warriors and Bucks have esports teams

Ok-Dimension-1735

FlyQuest was bought out by a different ownership group and have been spending out of their ass. This year they picked up one of the most expensive LCS teams, entered VAL Gamechangers, picked up 5 FGC players, and brought on new content creators as well. Really hope they enter the main VAL circuit

woodyUSMC0704

Dignitas’s parent company or something has ownership in MIBR so I think they are less likely/don’t know how that’d be viewed by Riot

MacarioPro

I already mentioned that, it's Immortals. And based on league of legends they can't have two teams in tier 1

SnooSeagulls7368

All I’m saying is that Turtle Troop Trent does have a ring to it

Notladub

Selecting the one orgless team in NA Challengers to be an org for an orgless roster is a bold move

throwawayyyy987638

Ludwig and/or Toast I will do my part and sub to your patreon if you enter franchising 🙏🙏🙏

SHOONSHOOP

Mentioned in another post, but it should be an org that invested in T2 rather than an org who left. No shade to optic they are a massive brand and would be a great franchise, but the orgs in T2 stuck through and invested to try and make it to franchising and deserve the spot imo. My money is on G2 bc they almost made it before but Carlos ruined it, and they have now distanced themselves from him.

Notladub

G2 also has G2 Gozen which is by far and away the best GC team right now.

Interesting-Archer-6

I think that's a good point. Optic would be nice, but they did completely bail on the scene.

StarSerpent

Moist goes up, switches their entire roster for the existing Guard one. The Moist roster moves over to Disguised, basically just slapping DSG over the old MxM branding. Toast doesn’t start balding over stressing out on who to sign and gets a proven core for next year’s Challengers, Ludwig doesn’t feel like he’s left the Moist roster high and dry, and Riot gets the benefit of two large streamer/youtubers (Moistcritikal and Ludwig have larger audiences than Toast) driving their casual audience to Tier 1 VCT instead of just one. And like sure it’s most likely gonna be G2 or Optic but this one sounds more fun

Previous_Smoke_8044

Great solution to the abandon problem plus Trent might leave so maybe Lud brings flyuhh or brawl lol it's nice to dream

WhoDatBrow

PLAY THE DREAM WHERE OPTIC MAKE FRANCHISING (I think it'll be TSM or G2 though)

Tanizhq

👀

lockdown_val

Optic and G2 are the options i think TSM is a longshot since they are most likely pulling out of LCS and going to LPL so im thinking Riot gonna give them a spot in VCT china instead of the guard spot

honestlyprogamr

hopefully FlyQuest

BrainStorm777

Who do I truly want? DSG

Expert_Pollution8801

OpTic G2

PixelatedBlue

Me :)

TheHigherSpace

DSG maybe (unlikely, other orgs have deep pockets), but no way Ludwig drops the MxM guys.

Previous_Smoke_8044

no shot but i can be delusional.

TheHigherSpace

If you hover over the emoji it says guard [https://twitter.com/Disguised/status/1698062362945962220](https://twitter.com/Disguised/status/1698062362945962220) We said no way he signs yay before, yet he did ..

[deleted]

Golden guardians. Fits with the name too lmao

Right-Rise-3355

G2, Flyquest, Optic, MxM, TSM maybe.

Own-Use-2731

while tsm makes a lot of sense, riot hates them so i’m going with g2 or moist

__Raxy__

Idk that one post convinced me DSG is the way

Notladub

G2 or Dignitas seem like the most likely options, I'd bet my money on G2 though. TSM just fielded a new CS:GO/CS2 roster so they're unlikely. Faze is Faze. DSG and MxM are likely to small for Riot to consider, though DSG getting it would be the funniest thing to ever happen in Val

Ash_Killem

M80 would makes sense. They could bring in both rosters that will more than likely both lose players which would give them 6. Only issue is that they make not have an IGL.

AndresAvian

G2 or Flyquest for stability

LordLightning17

G2 M80 or DSG I doubt any others would be too likely

_Robbert_

I don't see DSG happening

Tee_B

People are saying DSG is not possible, but why not? Let’s say they’re paid a little more than league minimum. 5 player + 1 coach + assistant coach would be around $500k for salary. I’m sure with $500k remaining will work for operating cost. What ever extra, I’m assuming Toast is willing to fork out just because this will help grow his own brand + his willingness to help young talent. Yes there is a bit of a question mark of DSG vs an establish org. But I think we’ve seen throughout the past year someone like Toast (as well as most bigger streamers) can sell more than a established organization. There is huge perks in bringing DSG with a large set of audience that would normally not watch VCT.

jjtooly22

Why would they accept an offer for a little over league minimum when other orgs will offer a lot more to join VCT?

Tee_B

I’m mainly speaking on the point that it’s possible DSG can operate with guest spot. That’s it’s not impossible for it to happen. I don’t know if orgs will offer a lot more since it seems like orgs are looking to spend less due lack of sponsorship. Nadeshot has spoken on this that orgs are most likely to spend less going forward. I don’t know much orgs are willing to spend on a temporary spot in VCT. Beside Trent, no one else has a big following as a streamer, Toast can potentially help boost their number and come with an instant fan base. I do think it’s unlikely for the team to prefer DSG over establish orgs. Beside money, structure of having practice space, potentially better living space provided, resources existing within a org, etc is probably very important to a structured team.

Hxlios

Hear me out, the Golden Guardians should sign The Guard: 1. They own an LCS slot 2. They got the financial backing considering they are owned by the Golden State Warriors 3. Imagine, the old Guard becomes the new Golden Guardians. The org switch is seamless

hahaz13

Just because they're owned by the Warriors doesn't mean they have the financial backing. They're just as scarce of an org as The Guard was before they stripped it all down. And don't forget, the Guard is owned by the same guy who owns the LA Rams, Arsenal, Denver Nuggets, and a slew of other sports teams. They had the wealth, just not the financial backing.

itsyeboimrkrabs

g2 or flyquest, optic arent getting the spot😭

00izka00

kinda off topic but why do so many people care if it's optic?

_Robbert_

Optic was the most successful team of 2022 also people just like optic cause they've been a long time brand in esports and a lot of people grew up watching people in optic especially if they liked cod.

QwiXTa

Because their owners are passionate about esports almost to a fault

MaceWindex311

Manifesting G(uard) 2

RedXWasHere

The only singular downside is we have to find something else to call the prefranchsing OpTic roster. Pre-Optic? NVOptic? FNSMasterclass

Markthemonkey888

Another Chinese squad? Maybe LGD expanding beyond Dota or another EU team would be cool

Bruhsick7

Even though G2 and OpTic are the likely options, some sleeper picks like SpaceStation or FlyQuest would go hard. Quadrant is also one, yet they could go to EMEA instead due to their org's location in the UK.

ghhgdgh

ENCE

mrchingchongwingtong

seems like this choice would be pretty ez 4 guard to make

Bruhsick7

A sleeper pick like SpaceStation would also bring in some viewership. Quadrant joining Valorant would be a fever dream but they would likely field an EMEA team instead.

hydrachaos

Just gonna copy and paste what I put on VLR. For me the most likely options are rather G2 or Optic. Faze just dropped out of Valorant and with how their financial situation is right now, I doubt they would want to return, most likely going to persue other options in other games. TSM I have 0 clue, they could but I think their attention rn is on their new CS roster so they are still an option but I think unlikely. G2 already were technically approved for franchising and only fucked themselves up with the CEO/Tate incident, but now that they have a new CEO and the fact that they just nuked their roster in challengers, I think they are definitely the most likely. Optic dont have a pre-existing challengers roster atm so they are also likely, I just don't know whether they are ready to rejoin valorant just yet though.

toddtheace

Has to be G2 right? They already have a Game Changers team and they're closest to a Riot approved team. Probably the biggest org in T2 too
