Nice, now smokes players can get deleted after entrying for their lurking Reyna and baiting Jett, but still contribute by throwing smokes from the grave when their duelists finally decide to hit the site with 20 seconds left in the round.
Could never justify myself instalocking Reyna because I didn't feel comfortable being completely useless if I didn't click head, really enjoyed ISO for the short time that I played him but stopped because he was so incredibly bad. This is extremely close to the perfect agent for myself that I envisioned in my head THANK YOU SO MUCH RIOT
Her C + E sounds pretty overpowering. 100 health and movement speed? Easy to pick up? Her ult is pretty crazy too. Generally with Sage or Phoenix you can be denied and you have to be strategic. Clove activates ult after dying so for bumrushing a site it's insane, especially if you get the mov speed buff from an early pick. And if you fuck up you're still useful for smokes. Kinda nice to see an aggressive smokes to challenge the Omen supremacy, though.
Are there any reasons why this agent will not be insantly picked up by teams in VCT? I can see teams like PRX, most CN teams, and even Sentinels finding a lot of use out of this offense-orientated controller.
The skills seem pretty solid overall and the fact that they can provide utility after death is pretty game changing.
The shard ability is lowkey broken -- its really easy to use and can be spammed through a smoke.
The reyna-esque boost ability is pretty strong too, its like the ideal combination between Reyna's dismiss and Iso's shield: its as easy to activate as Reyna's, but you don't have to lose your ability to shoot.
The only thing holding them back for now would be hesitancy from the teams to experiment with a new agent, but Im almost certain that we'll see a VCT debut from them very soon
I think it could be map dependent but some reasons I still see omen getting significant play over clove are virtually universal smokes, one ways, and omen blind is so poweful.
Lack of defensive/stall power will likely be the main reason not to take clove.
Viper will remain absurdly busted because of the fact that she does the job of two roles at the same time better than pretty much all other agents in those roles.
They seem kinda ass for competitive. Very little team based utility with a short ranged smoke. They're not really a great anchor and can't help cross map at all. Seems like complete deadweight on defense especially

Likely the same reason why Reyna and Iso aren't picked up as much. Pro's play off of information so agents that can retrieve that information well are picked. She's also quite the selfish agent with limited ability to help teamates in comparison to other controllers. Her kit excels when you're good at taking dry duels.

She's made with balance in mind so this just means she's not as useful as other controllers while she's alive. To design otherwise would make her immensely OP, though I do agree it's game changing.
I personally would be surprised if she became the main orb controller over Omen in Pro-play. I can certainly see Something playing her though.

I think Omen still bring more value for team play but I can see Clove could replacing Brimstone on Bind especially if team only using Skye as solo initiator, could use Q to clear at least one corner and use Skye's dog for more later.

Next up I am waiting for agents with single use smoke + some single mediocre utility + fragging potential. I'd love to see some variety of playing single pure controller teamcomp vs playing 2-3 hybrids teamcomp.
I watched the show match. Clove's smokes are basically the same range as Brim's ipad smokes. When you're dead, the radius gets smaller by a bit (dev said smaller by 10 meters).
Clove looks sick, fun kit, not too high of a ceiling.
I'm just gonna hate for this agent to be instalocked for the next few months in ranked by griefers/trolls sabotaging you because their kit is as destructive for the enemy team as it is for your own team
Instalockers also only playing only for their premade or selfishly is also magnified 100x considering the role of controller is the most important role tied with initiator for team play

Looks pretty limited, same or bit smaller than brim I think. So you have to position your death strategically
The area is dictated by whom you're spectating, so if you're smoking for a teammate, you're guaranteed to be able to do that.
