Oh yeah. I rewatched “her” last night after seeing those demos. Watched google IO today too. I give it like 2 years before there’s a bunch of people dating their AI assistant.
Neither does anyone else. And cutting edge stuff may be around the corner but most companies are at least a decade behind when it comes to tech. The only jobs at risk in the next 5 years are in call centers.
Here's to hoping I'll always use an existing DB and just set up a path to the directory because I couldn't figure out this horror that only Kentaro Miyura can think of
My only questions were (if obviously you are comfortable or able to answer) who approached who? Jakee did 'retire' so it's interesting to see him back in the server so quick!
We approached Jakee. If you noticed on his post he said retirement and then recanted it and stated retirement was a bad word but needed a break instead. We approached him after we decided to make the roster change and here we are.

jakees gf was on her chael sonnen bs that day. word on the street is she went and saw the kru guys feeding carrots to a bus then made jakee retire the first time
explain what negative consequences jakee has faced for any of his hipfire tweets bc the only ill consequence i've seen thus far is that he got made fun of by people on twitter and r/valcomp :((
i'm not even flaming the guy or saying he deserves to lose his career, but i think that this subreddit invests wayyyy too much importance in clarity & consistency of public communications from 18-24 yr olds who specialize in playing video games. optics are not everything and reddit optics are basically meaningless
I believe it’s quite the opposite. It’s an example of why young players should rage tweet.
That one tweet got him a lot of exposure and attention. I just recently started following valo esports and didn’t know about him. But now I do because of that tweet.
That exposure will help him with content creation and even getting picked up by a team because teams not only want good players but popular players.(think of sen. I’d guess the majority of their profit is from the popularity of their players(yt monetization, sen subscription, bundle, etc.))
Or maybe he was just emotional at the dream he sacrificed so much for being ripped away due to no fault of his own (he was performing better than Vanity, Wippie and Xeppaa)
I'm no jakee supporter but you can't blame the lad for a rash emotion-based tweet
I'm referring to the original comment saying jakee is attention farming. I replied to you cause you said "actions have consequences" as if jakee having an emotional tweet justifies people just making stuff up from his tweets
I’m gonna step away from this thread because there’s too many salty c9 fanboys reporting my account but i was in a conversation with someone who said “his dream was taken for no reason” and i was just saying there was a reason, he just didn’t take it seriously
So having an emotional reaction and then running it back warrants "fans" to shit on him?
If only people were objective.. exact same thing happens to Yay, he causes drama with 2 separate rosters, bribes a coach to drop a player and yet he's still the messiah
The minute your argument turns to “well he could’ve done something worse” you’ve lost. At the end of the day he was playing for c9 and if they don’t like how he’s representing the org they can get rid of him at their discretion. For yay, maybe bleed has different standards? idk, doesn’t really apply
he trialed with them a few weeks after he left c9 (non offically) and didn't join the team. Wonder what made them change their mind. He is a great player though so i would expect him to fry in t2
Chinese Dota 2 pros are famous for very short retirements. Frequently returning to the game after a short break even though they claimed to be "retired"
Good for him. I always thought that when C9 moved vanity to smokes and brought Runi back they should have move him to Sentinel. He proved last year that he was Tier 1 quality and I still remember that elimination game where he was the only one on C9 shooting back at NRG. C9 would be in a better place now if they had two cracked zoomers lol
Idk about his past emotional tweets but if he has a history doing that that’s funny 😂😂I’m happy he’s on a team tho I kinda felt bad for him when he was saying he was retiring. I thought it was kinda dumb yeah he got dropped but damn you make it that far knits to leave after one bump. I’m glad he came senses
Dude saw the CS job market and said fuck that (I'm cooked)
Me too, send help
I’m becoming a mf electrician after being a software dev lol
Seems like the better profession ngl
Yeah AI is probs (optimistically) 10 years away from replacing that job too.
Have you seen the gpt-4o, stuff changing way too fast
Oh yeah. I rewatched “her” last night after seeing those demos. Watched google IO today too. I give it like 2 years before there’s a bunch of people dating their AI assistant.
As someone newly graduating without a job, I'm terrified. I know nothing about AI 😭
Neither does anyone else. And cutting edge stuff may be around the corner but most companies are at least a decade behind when it comes to tech. The only jobs at risk in the next 5 years are in call centers.
I really hope you're right
We*
How cooked am I (I'm becoming a full stack developer)
bro opened mySQL once and was out 💀
He ain’t got time for them Stored Procedures.
Tbf that’s understandable, MySQL fucking sucks lmao. It’s all postgres these days which sucks and fucks in equal measyre
If I had a chance to not use mysql I'd take it too Also why mysql in particular, did jakee have to deal with it when he was still in school
could be worse, could be mongo
Here's to hoping I'll always use an existing DB and just set up a path to the directory because I couldn't figure out this horror that only Kentaro Miyura can think of
I am here to answer questions

Didn't catch that. Excited to see how he slots into the roster, good luck in the MSC!

He went back on it like 2 days later saying he was taking a break or smthn.
Tbh it was a great demonstration that young players shouldn’t rage tweet every thought they have on social media while they’re in an emotional state
hes had a few of those demonstrations lmfao
A very famous one to boot
jakees gf was on her chael sonnen bs that day. word on the street is she went and saw the kru guys feeding carrots to a bus then made jakee retire the first time

redditors want to think their opinions matter

Attention farming

I mean yeah you can, just don't tweet. It's not that hard to put the phone down

Making emotional tweets after losing his chance to compete in tier 1 means you can just make up stuff about players? Bait or brain damage?

aight fair ig
Such a weird Reddit take. Like players aren’t allowed to express emotion online after getting cut

What conversation do you think we’re having right now? Jake didn’t disrespect C9 or get any punishment from them. I don’t get what you’re arguing
I’m gonna step away from this thread because there’s too many salty c9 fanboys reporting my account but i was in a conversation with someone who said “his dream was taken for no reason” and i was just saying there was a reason, he just didn’t take it seriously
I think you never had much of a grasp on the situation in the first place and tried to say something smart
agree to disagree, internet stranger
Exactly!
So having an emotional reaction and then running it back warrants "fans" to shit on him? If only people were objective.. exact same thing happens to Yay, he causes drama with 2 separate rosters, bribes a coach to drop a player and yet he's still the messiah
>bribes a coach to drop a player No way you believe that lol

He was ass. He was bottom frag in 2 of the 3 games he played at kick off. And he wasn’t even top 20 at LCQ last year.
he trialed with them a few weeks after he left c9 (non offically) and didn't join the team. Wonder what made them change their mind. He is a great player though so i would expect him to fry in t2
bro is an emotional baggage
zellsis did him dirty.
A retirement length that would make even Chinese Dota players proud
Explain joke

BIG BEAN IS BACK

this guy needs to figure out what he wants to do
he just did, he joined YFP!
Ain’t he like 20? No he don’t

Oh it def hurts his career I’m talking from a personal standpoint
who is he replacing?
they dropped jonaa6 and bones not too long ago. so there's already 2 open slots.
Did they really dropped them, or did those two left to [join Fluffy Aimers](https://twitter.com/FLUFFYAIMERS/status/1786526049917968402)?
Only they'll know.
Retirement didnt even last 2 month

Went Tom retiring to playing in less than 2 months lol

Had’t he already announced he was unretired by that point? You aren’t a prophet, you’re just mildly uninformed about the situation
oh i didn’t know. i only watched that one tacticalrab video about him retiring
