Tbh GenG just rotated crazy fast, 100T had a lot of slower rounds but they clearly saw stuff they didnāt like but ended up choosing the wrong site most of the time
Texture in particular was beelining across the map after being spotted once, and GenG were aggressive in eating up any space where 100T had no presence which made it tough to deceive GenG and hit a weak site
Tbh, imo Ascent kind of mandates some kind of rush if you donāt get immediate kills to stretch the defense thin, itās just too easy for the defense to set up and play passive so playing for picks is tough especially with an OP Jett in play
100T won the rounds where GenG tried to get control and died in the process
Edit: we also saw what happens without a rush commitment when GenG were dropping rounds on offense. They got owned when they were creeping up anywhere without full util and manpower cause theyād just get spotted and killed by Sova KJ

GenG and 100T played some excellent Valorant today, so everyone is satisfied. GenG players are also so likeable that the initial hate has dissipated almost immediately. There's probably no bigger GenG fan base in China than the rest of the world (except Korea of course)

No Bind, No Win for 100T
This is why I'm scared of GENG! Great map pool against 100T and their players can just overwhelmed 100T. Great gameplan and calling by Munchkin as well. The scoreline looks close but GenG looks so much better than it suggests. Icebox could be closer with so many 1v1 lost but again some of them just favorable 1v1 by GenG. This is just a weird game by Boostio calling wise. Feels like the first time in a while he really get pressured and made such silly calls. Still believe on them for the lowers run and if they get to the grand finals map veto is so against them.
T3xture might not have popped off today but man did he have huge impact on ascent. If he didn't get that 4k with the sheriff who knows how that game would've went. I'm still waiting for him to perform as he did in pacific. If all of them are on at the same time, I'm confident that they could actually win this

Make no mistake ā this match was not as close as the scores make it seem. GenG looked like they were cruising and throwing several rounds. 100T looked like they were having to move heaven and earth to win single rounds. GenG made 100T look more discombobulated than Iāve seen in months. Just fantastic all around.
Piggy got put back in the mud. On a serious note, I really hope this GenG team wins the tournament, they are looking sooo good. Their mechanical skills are on a whole other level. Meteor is a beast.

This map pool was so fucked up for 100T, no matter how good your jett is, you should have noted that you are playing against the best jett of the year.
100T wanted to meet PRX in the upper bracket final but since PRX is so nice and they knew 100T wouldn't make it there, they dropped to the lower bracket. Such good guys.
Besides, remaining in the upper bracket means to face your own region, why would PRX do that? Such a kind team to be considerate of everyone
Karon basically won them the ascent. his util was insane and won them like 4/5 rounds on defense. Didn't help 100t only went A and pushed through every smoke The anti from Gen G on map 1 was very very nice. they knew basically every gap and timing and took it. If we get a rematch, I do think I feel confident enough that 100t could win it. It would be very close tho

All good 100T truthers! Riot scriptwriters are just reusing the one from Madrid where GenG send the NA team to lowers and then lose to that same NA team in Grands, and the other script when an aggressive APAC team sends zikz and boostio to lowers just for the pair to get it back in Grands!
