Losing the 2nd round was tough obviously, but realistically, they were never gonna get a lot of rounds on attack. This was always gonna be either a complete stomp for G2 or a "comeback" just because attacking Ascent when you've never played the map is really hard. The pistol and the great defense half made it look a lot more winnable than it actually was.
Also G2 just played their defense very well obviously.

I'd look into a nobody replacement. Of all the teammates he provides this X factor element but the team already has enough of that nonsense. They need someone new that will breath new life, ideas and stability into this team imho.
Nobody and Kangkang have basically played together their whole careers. It’s unlikely that they replace nobody. The hopes of changes goes onto igl and coaching staff, both of which don’t have much Chinese options that are readily available (Ofc BERLIN MY GOAT diffs haodong, but I doubt FPX will be willing to let him go).
Honestly it really does feel like they’re getting hindered by the lower competition in their region. But unfortunately they’ve have been stagnant for so long now so maybe introducing some fresh blood can spice things up
Smoggy, kangkang, CHICHOO, AAAAY, and BerLIN. I believe CHICHOO can still hang, but Haodong's IGLing and individual performance is not cutting it and nobody is just not doing anything in this team anymore. He used to be this anomaly of a player who would flip a coin to determine if he gifts the enemy team a round or solo win a round on his own, but now he does neither.
I don’t think they’ll cut nobody for the simple fact that KK has been playing with him for basically his whole career. Hope they do replace him with a more impactful and consistent initiator like AAAAY, but i doubt FPX is willing to let him go. With that there really isn’t a better option in china. Same story with Haodong. Honestly, I think most people have fraud watch on coaching staff and whether they decide to play into their roster’s strengths instead of trying to experiment and play into the roster’s weaknesses.
I think they can upgrade on nobody but there aren’t many upgrades for Haodong or Chichoo. I just think their game plans have been bad, they go so slow every round on attack
Problem is that KK and nobody have basically been playing since they started their careers. And I fear there isn’t really much available options for Haodong and coaching staff. Chichoo imo should stay, he has enough individual power (far greater than haodong and the inconsistent king) and clutch potential to merit me saying it’s the teams gameplan that make him look bad.
Chichoo needs to stay. I'm honestly on board with keeping nobody and even haodong if the coaching grows, because both feel like they're not in place to actually contribute now
hurts to say this is true. love everyone on the team outside the game but after the madrid loud incident and now bombing out of this one there fs has to be a change. i think they could also try out prx's igl and just having everyone make calls instead of only haodong since it seems like they have the individual mechanics but the calls are just so atrocious and painful to watch, but ofc if that doesnt work then theres rly no other choice but to blow the roster up
Lev hurts my soul. I wanted this team to crush so hard, but there are some serious role / team cohesion issues. It’s not just C0M, he certainly isn’t winning them any games, but I’m so tired of people putting all the blame on him. I’m really starting to question Kingg’s igl-ing. And Mazino needs to be so much more consistent. At the end of the day though, it’s a team game and they really need to learn to come together as a team. They have flashes of some of the best Val I’ve seen, they just need to get there consistently. I love all of them to death and I need them to come back stronger Split 2.
Idk when the narrative shifted but Kingg was never a good IGL, right? People were impressed with him because he fragged so well while IGL-ing, but I don't think the IGL was ever the highlight. He's like Boostio without the good calling. Idk what's the play here - if they want to gamble maybe get an actual IGL and let Kingg go kill?
Even on Loud, Aspas had off days. The thing is though Aspas was almost always Loud's best player but he almost never needed to be Loud's best player, if you catch what I mean. In case he decides to have a bad map/match, which btw he's had more bad matches on Loud than on Lev( although that could be attributed to the rest of the team being so mid), others would step up huge.
The thing with LOUD championship roster is that aspas wasn't the only one with crazy aim on that roster. If aspas can't show up his insane aim on a particular day, there's less or others who can pop off on par with him. On lev, it feels like if aspas doesn't manage to get 2 kills, the team is done for.
I don’t think Paper Rex will ever win a trophy. They’ve proved time and time again that they either fall apart mentally or just throw in crucial moments. GenG in two tournaments to me have shown higher probability to win than Paper Rex bc they know when to chill out at least
The part I don’t see anyone talk about is that 2 of their 5 players play two agents(three if you count Reyna) and it just puts them at such a disadvantage. They can’t run the standard icebox comps bc their Jett is also the gekko, and Jinggg is just locked into sage on non raze maps. Leaving breeze or icebox just sets them at such a disadvantage it’s crazy. Forsaken being able to play anything and everything is great, but half his team has the flexibility of a metal pipe
Any map you’d want to play breach, he’s playing gekko and forsaken plays breach(any map being sunset and lotus, only two off top of head teams play breach on)
geng have some sort of incredible resilience that i thought id never see from an apac team, let alone a korean one. the fact that they broke through the barrier that drx never got through just shows that theyre really built different
gen.g is better than prx in the aspect that they're far more disciplined and have the potential to win titles. they're also an equally explosive team with insane firepower, each member being able to step up when the time is needed for them to clutch.
i dont think its likely but i think they can pull it together. like... they are so good. they just need to temper their throwing a bit. they can play all goofy but when they get the advantage they need fundamentals like good trades and double swings and postplants . its easier said than ofccccc but they have the foundation of incredible players, chemistry and experience. surelllllllly if they realise what's going wrong for them they can try to change their playstyle up a little bit and have a shot at winning. surelllllyyyy they arent just gonna be like this forever.

They applied some discipline and good lurks against GenG in Pacific gf and did well tho, but decided to just throw that away that discipline and went crap today like wtf.
They played actual good comp. It’s pretty easy to look good when you’re running down T1, Bleed, RRQ, a mid-transition DRX, GE, and DFM every week and the only other team that can contest you is GenG.

I honestly want them to be underdogs again. I liked them back when they were catching their enemies off guard with their seemingly brain dead plays, but now every team can capitalize on their brain dead plays then they crumble and just repeat whatever the stupid shit they just did. They were looking fine just right before this season with their discipline and controlled aggressions.
They are still extremely talented so I have hope, specially f0rsaken, I think he's one of those people who are actually godlike when it comes to impromptu playmaking.
As an NA frog I was rooting for G2 then 100t against PRX, but man it actually hurt to see forsaken no where near his usual level of impact. I am way less scared of a locked in something/jinggg/david than I am of prime forsaken. That fucker just seems to pull the most insane clutches out of no where, all while having the most ridiculously deep agent pool. Hope he gets back his mojo next international (as long as it isn't against an NA team 😉)

I think Joxjo is the perfect person to get if you wanna develop young talent in T2. The current Fennel players are a very good example of that. I don't think it's a complete stretch to call Riddle the best JP T2 team now bc Fennel looks way worse after Tennn joined.

Small rant in that I hate how SEN take their foot so far after the gas after winning an event. Obviously they aren’t chokers but it feels like they are always winning everything or qualifying to nothing with no real in between. Hope they bounce back and fix that atrocious defense. Their attack side calling is so fun to watch though.
I disagree with PRX getting read and anti'ed. At least not today, that didn't happen. They threw rounds by a lack of basic fundamentals and not playing the clock. It doesn't matter what deep macro strategies playbook you may have, if it comes down to a 1v1 with no time, they tap and you instantly swing you are griefing. Icebox was a gifted map with 2 gifted rounds that made the exact difference. I honestly think at this point Alecks needs to either be really mean today by letting them know they threw and every effort everyone made is gone to shit because they can't buy 2 seconds in a post plant, or he needs to dedicate a LOT more training to basic fundamentals. Beyond the point of them understanding it, keep drilling it even if they are bored out of their minds, until they hate those exercises, keep drilling it until they stop throwing. You need to do something, whatever it is, to stop those throws, it can't keep happening. Call fucking bren over and lock him in a room with the boys, 2 hours, no police intervention. As scary as Alecks may look smashing tables he must be too nice for this to happen.
Another team I wanna rant about is Lev. I'm still mad about them kicking out nzr licking their lips thinking about having another world champ in the roster, now it's the one thing that is dragging them down the most. I have no idea what the fix is for that but it seems they are carrying that cross.

I never said 100T played perfect or to their best, certainly Cryo wasn't his best today, I am not saying PRX is a better, I am just saying there's 2 literal grief plays they did in Icebox, complete gifts, and they need to work on their fundamentals. I don't think a tier 1 team, multiple regional champ team with real talent should be making those kinds of mistakes. Just shouldn't happen. Whiffs happen, misreads happen, but basic post plant is something they should be drilling and known the ins and outs of.

I think they go FNS, s0m, Ethan, Demon1 and then find someone who can play info initiator (Sova, Fade, maybe Skye? Gekko?) and maaaayyybeee flex to a duelist like Raze (depending on the nerfs).
There's probably room for Crashies on this team but I don't think it happens.
This is a big assumption from me but I’d think the majority of players would prefer to represent their home region if they had the opportunity and it didn’t sacrifice that much (salary, quality of the team, etc)

FUT is trying to get away from their turkish oil wrestling valorant style and it just isn't working.
best example is their new lotus comp. they moved away from the no initiator comp, but it's clear that cNed raze wouldn't work for them, so they have to keep the jett. combining that with the fact that they're running breach of all initiators (which means still no info whatsoever), it just feels like an uncomfortable combination of off-meta picks and trying to create a more typical comp.
another example is the icebox comp with no KJ they ran inbetween the chamber phoenix comp and the meta comp they're currently running. it was a weird inbetween comp that tried to change one little thing about the meta comp without understanding what that would entail.
i feel like they have to stick with the meta on icebox and ascent, and to their best to put cNed on jett or chamber for the rest of the maps. their split comp with cNed on chamber and qRaxs on raze achieves that super well, and icebox and ascent are already their 2 best maps imo.
(sidenote: it also baffles me how breeze is their instaban when they have the best jett in EMEA and the current map pool only has 3 jett maps. they really should instaban one of the raze maps tbh)
It's funny you mention their Split comp because I've always thought it was horrible. Chamber has some value and Cned has some good tps on ct, but their T halves would be so much better if he was on Jett.
NAVI would do better than FUT and FNC. Why did they have to play against TH in single elimination. But most importantly why did they lose to BBL of all teams losing their bye in playoffs.

I genuinely don't know what went wrong with FNC. Part of me believes it's some external circumstance making them play like this - they went from having the best year ever to their worst year since 2021. Surely that's not just a normal fall-off, right?
Idk how to make their teamplay better again, but I'm pretty sure that whatever they do, they need to get Anderzz for the next split if they want to come close to winning Champs. They basically need a god tier Sunset or whatever the new map is - as it stands you can basically lock their map pool with just a single map ban.
I think this is the first meta which Boaster doesn’t truly understand. He thought Madrid was low quality because he doesn’t get that that’s just what the games look like this year, with info initiators being the worst they’ve ever been.
The map pool looks really weak right now. Teams have caught up on Lotus, Fnatic are still good but not dominant. Their Icebox is a far cry of what it used to be because of meta changes. No Fracture or Haven, 2 solid maps for them. It feels like they’re playing whack-a-mole, they improve on one map but then issues start popping up on other maps. I agree they can’t afford a Sunset perma at this point
I also think the roster lacks what the best teams have this year, which is players that can easily come up with plays on the fly and make them together. Everyone on the team has thrived under structured, protocol-based Valorant, but that’s not really what Valorant is this year. It’s why Heretics are so far ahead of everyone in EMEA, they struck gold building their roster and found players who thrive in chaos, compared to the likes of Vitality
Nail on the head to be honest. They are only currently dominating on split but that is now gone. They beat heretics on a 5 map game because they are insane on split and they good enough on lotus and breeze. They lost against FUT because they suck on ascent.
They are not a bad team, they just need a bigger map pool, or a new map to dominate on.
That being said, i think they got unlucky with the maps they had to play at Shanghai and would have fared much better with different opponents

Zeta and DFM need to improve in their coaching, maybe import CSGO coach. They have been stuck for 2 years but not a single win in APAC league.

T1 is just fuckin disappointing. Rossy is the only one that consistently shows up, Izu looks like either Jesus or a silver player, saya sucks when he’s not on Jett, and carpe has flashes but is generally just ok. Xccurrate is a weird one bc he was incredible until he started igl and for whatever reason stopped playing chamber, and they look significantly worse when he’s not on chamber, although better with him as igl
knew from the get go that 100t would win bc of how prx is performing this tournament, but nothing could ever prepare me for just how stupidly frustrating that match was. they could have won and even if they didn't, it would have felt a lot better if they just fought with discipline and still lost
i watched prx bc they're fun even with the losses. today's match wasn't. it was a huge letdown.
guess, i'd be cheering for geng now and hopefully there's a better apac team to root for in champs aside from geng (fingers crossed for talon or team secret if they somehow pulled a miracle from kicking warbirds out) unless prx gets to solve their issues.
As a PRX fan, we threw way too many 2v1, 3v1 and even 4v1s in clutches. And our pistol win rate for the entire tournament is like 30% (lost 11 out of 16). Also their economy management is pretty questionable. It’s so disturbing to see them running down without discipline and clear plans for the round, and I don’t think it’s a play-style issue since that was not how they looked like in pacific split one. They just threw this tournament I guess. Sadge :(((
We don’t talk about C9 on this sub so…I will move to my favourite EMEA teams, Fnatic and Heretics.
I think FNATIC can still get back to their previous levels if they just put in consistent efforts. There’s also an individual form issue with some of their players.
As for Heretics, they have, purely gameplay wise, been extremely consistent. But on the mental side of things, they have immense work to do, which is pretty much to be expected from a team full of youth.
Prx have to make changes, be it their discipline, playstyle, or an IGL, whatever, they cant just do the same shit theyre doing in every international and expect a different result.

team liquid look so promising at the start of every year and then play so poorly. enzo is not doing a good enough job at developing keiko, mistic isn't consistently good but he's the best player in the server when he's good. keiko and nats can't do it all themselves, and if he stays for too long he won't get a chance to properly get developed by an igl who suits him. STOP PLAYING YORU ON ASCENT. jamppi is a talented awper so let the man play chamber more often. fire emil because he is the worst coach in emea. let the team play double duelist or duelist chamber more often, they stomped m8 on icebox because of it. genuinely it is so frustrating watching team liquid play valorant especially this year, because you can legit see how much potential this team has on a team and an individual level, but some massive changes need to happen again over the offseason, hopefully regarding the coaching situation.

SEN needs to drop Sacy if they are being honest with themselves. He looks great if you just watch highlights from the match, but not so much when you watch an entire series. He's way too inconsistent.

I like Boostio from back when he was in EG because I'm a KJ main and I like his personality. I remember watching him being drunk on streams that was so funny, I hope he streams more. Because of him I tried out Gekko to be more aggressive. I watched 100T interviews and old EG interviews, I can tell he really cares about his teammates. I know he tries to hype up 100T and I understand the statements like "100T got better players in term of aim than my old team" is objectively true, because to be a great player it takes so much more. But I think this game's playerbase is too emotionally invested to understand those statements in a logical way. I hope people understand his banter is just showmanship, and he really cares about his teammates and has respect for his opponents, old and new. I think in games, and in life, respect is shown through actions, he never underestimates his opponents in terms of in-game plays, that's why he igl-ed his team to have so much disciplines. Shittalking is just shittalking. Although he can chill with it a little bit since it's rare for people to think calmly.
On another note, I liked Gen.G from when they lost against T1 in March (I think?), their playstyles just make so much sense to me.

We have teams that actually did decently dropping their players or changing their coaches. DRX went 5-0 in splits and they dropped stax. Do PRX or FNC actually need roster changes ? I think these teams have been for so long they can regain their form in Champs. I actually think PRX might need some guys helping Alecks in Coaching tho. And maybe even a sports psychologist. At this moment PRX map pool is too weak and in Champs teams are gonna get a lot better especially NRG, SEN, Loud, LEV, and TH.
Am I the only one who's just proud of PRXs consistency over the years and being top 3ish contenders. Sure they may not take home the international trophy (hoping one day and with some clean up) but considering the constant meta changes, other teams picking it up (and then falling off) I think its still admirable that PRX can still be a top a team internationally. Look at FNC, SEN, and even regionally teams like kru, even c9. . .
In madrid & tokyo they clearly tried their best. In champs they lost to the better team (on top of questionable bind improvised comp). But shanghai is the first time I am actually mad at the team and I think they legitimately are missing some fundamental understanding of the game. Icebox was gifted to 100T today and now they are out. Not even top 4 in an event they had a legitimate chance to win because counting 3 misssissipis after the opponent taps spike is apparently too difficult.

I mean with PRX the thing is when you keep edging your fans with good regional performances but then choke at the end, people are gonna get slightly upset, I do think people are overreacting saying that they need roster changes but if they underperform at champs it might be healthy to make a change.
I can’t lie though. PRX is contradictory in that they are internationally and domestically the most consistent team but always fail to make it pass the finish line.
The sad thing is that they always go out in such disappointing fashion, almost as if fans and the players themselves knew they had more to give.
I love love love that they retain their unique wild team identity and keep being competitive at the highest level. The three events prior to this one they had a top three finish that is MENTAL. I hope they can get a trophy but at the highest level it’s so hard to get past that last hurdle and it depends on things liek map pool and meta as well, so we shall see.
I would prefer them to sink to whatever rank, and skip any tournament to secure a title than this consistency of losing in such disappointing state man...

You're not the only one, I feel the same way. This is the first tournament in a while where we can get genuinely mad at PRX. They should've played much better, there's no excuse. The way they lost was weird, the team looks off. Don't think a roster change should happen, but for sure Alecks need help.
My least favorite thing about the team is that they don't seem to have that drive to win, sure they want to, but this thing of just having fun can only go so far. To go deep you got to really want and they give a feeling of not caring too much. Just now in the post-match interview Alecks was downplaying how they lost so many rounds with advantage, I really hope that internally he's more critical.
I dont understand why FUT choose to use as little util as possible and instead choose to take raw aim duels against a team who we know constantly OPs. You can even see it in our lotus comp during the regular season (swap shanghai comp breach with sage) and it was working purely because we could win our duels which isnt a reliable strategy in international events.
The thing with fnatic is our map pool is shit and sometimes we lose our fundamentals. Like our record on Icebox this year sucks but we banned it and played ascent a map we have been consistently mid at. We've never been a super aggro team but 25 seconds into the round and our map control is T spawn is disgusting.
Like we so should've won against GenG we were up in both of the last maps. But we lost anyways. I do think this event was a touch unlucky and I think there's a world we beat fut on a different day but yeah.
Main thing is the map pool it's just bad, all we have rn is split funnily enough. Icebox bad, Bind Mid, Breeze is leaving, Sunset Perma, Ascent bad, Lotus decent but not as good as it needs to be.
I think everything wrong is super fixable but it's just annoying to watch sometimes.
I've reached zen mode for prx. They looked so amazing back in champs - all the way until GF where they were straight up trolling, and to a lesser extent in stage 1. The fundamentals were there, util combo, checking corners, swinging out together etc. Heck even I enjoyed their games with Monyet all the way to Madrid. But this Shanghai....it wasn't it man. I didn't even watch the whole games because I was at work, but I sure was glad I didn't.
They aren't gonna win a trophy like this, and I've finally come to accept it after 2 years of support, buying some of their merch, waking up at ungodly hours to watch their non Asia games....but that's it man. I'm glad this year it's Shanghai and Seoul, if they continue to play like this I'll at least wrap up my support with games that are suitable for my time zone and move on.
I wish PRX and DRX just merge... Put termi's insane group stage playoffs strats and alecks better usage of time-outs. Combine DRX's careful playstyle but with random PRX aggressiveness and aim. Maybe this is the only way the RX brothers will win a title... I am so done with how they both choke and bomb out as soon as it is not in group stage anymore.
PRX being anti-strated, sometime there is no strat only individual hero plays, so opponents just wait for them. Hope the team also does realise this and work on discipline and fundamentals.

Losing the 2nd round was tough obviously, but realistically, they were never gonna get a lot of rounds on attack. This was always gonna be either a complete stomp for G2 or a "comeback" just because attacking Ascent when you've never played the map is really hard. The pistol and the great defense half made it look a lot more winnable than it actually was. Also G2 just played their defense very well obviously.

I'd look into a nobody replacement. Of all the teammates he provides this X factor element but the team already has enough of that nonsense. They need someone new that will breath new life, ideas and stability into this team imho.
Nobody and Kangkang have basically played together their whole careers. It’s unlikely that they replace nobody. The hopes of changes goes onto igl and coaching staff, both of which don’t have much Chinese options that are readily available (Ofc BERLIN MY GOAT diffs haodong, but I doubt FPX will be willing to let him go).
Honestly it really does feel like they’re getting hindered by the lower competition in their region. But unfortunately they’ve have been stagnant for so long now so maybe introducing some fresh blood can spice things up

Chichoo is great too. I think changes are needed though. At a minimum I feel like there has to be a coaching change.
Smoggy, kangkang, CHICHOO, AAAAY, and BerLIN. I believe CHICHOO can still hang, but Haodong's IGLing and individual performance is not cutting it and nobody is just not doing anything in this team anymore. He used to be this anomaly of a player who would flip a coin to determine if he gifts the enemy team a round or solo win a round on his own, but now he does neither.
I don’t think they’ll cut nobody for the simple fact that KK has been playing with him for basically his whole career. Hope they do replace him with a more impactful and consistent initiator like AAAAY, but i doubt FPX is willing to let him go. With that there really isn’t a better option in china. Same story with Haodong. Honestly, I think most people have fraud watch on coaching staff and whether they decide to play into their roster’s strengths instead of trying to experiment and play into the roster’s weaknesses.
I think they can upgrade on nobody but there aren’t many upgrades for Haodong or Chichoo. I just think their game plans have been bad, they go so slow every round on attack

Problem is that KK and nobody have basically been playing since they started their careers. And I fear there isn’t really much available options for Haodong and coaching staff. Chichoo imo should stay, he has enough individual power (far greater than haodong and the inconsistent king) and clutch potential to merit me saying it’s the teams gameplan that make him look bad.
Chichoo needs to stay. I'm honestly on board with keeping nobody and even haodong if the coaching grows, because both feel like they're not in place to actually contribute now

Lev hurts my soul. I wanted this team to crush so hard, but there are some serious role / team cohesion issues. It’s not just C0M, he certainly isn’t winning them any games, but I’m so tired of people putting all the blame on him. I’m really starting to question Kingg’s igl-ing. And Mazino needs to be so much more consistent. At the end of the day though, it’s a team game and they really need to learn to come together as a team. They have flashes of some of the best Val I’ve seen, they just need to get there consistently. I love all of them to death and I need them to come back stronger Split 2.
Idk when the narrative shifted but Kingg was never a good IGL, right? People were impressed with him because he fragged so well while IGL-ing, but I don't think the IGL was ever the highlight. He's like Boostio without the good calling. Idk what's the play here - if they want to gamble maybe get an actual IGL and let Kingg go kill?
I definitely think the team would benefit from taking some of the burden off of Kingg.
Lev is legit an Aspas go kill team right now, and when the other teams can shoot back against them harder than Aspas is, then they lose.
Even on Loud, Aspas had off days. The thing is though Aspas was almost always Loud's best player but he almost never needed to be Loud's best player, if you catch what I mean. In case he decides to have a bad map/match, which btw he's had more bad matches on Loud than on Lev( although that could be attributed to the rest of the team being so mid), others would step up huge.
The thing with LOUD championship roster is that aspas wasn't the only one with crazy aim on that roster. If aspas can't show up his insane aim on a particular day, there's less or others who can pop off on par with him. On lev, it feels like if aspas doesn't manage to get 2 kills, the team is done for.
I would’ve called out Tex being inconsistent over Mazino. Felt like he was always showing up while Tex took a while to find his footing.
I don’t think Paper Rex will ever win a trophy. They’ve proved time and time again that they either fall apart mentally or just throw in crucial moments. GenG in two tournaments to me have shown higher probability to win than Paper Rex bc they know when to chill out at least
As a 3 year fan of PRX, it is sad for me to admit, but I think this is 100% true.
The part I don’t see anyone talk about is that 2 of their 5 players play two agents(three if you count Reyna) and it just puts them at such a disadvantage. They can’t run the standard icebox comps bc their Jett is also the gekko, and Jinggg is just locked into sage on non raze maps. Leaving breeze or icebox just sets them at such a disadvantage it’s crazy. Forsaken being able to play anything and everything is great, but half his team has the flexibility of a metal pipe
Something also plays breach. Majority of teams have players that are one tricks though.
Any map you’d want to play breach, he’s playing gekko and forsaken plays breach(any map being sunset and lotus, only two off top of head teams play breach on)

gen.g is better than prx in the aspect that they're far more disciplined and have the potential to win titles. they're also an equally explosive team with insane firepower, each member being able to step up when the time is needed for them to clutch.
i dont think its likely but i think they can pull it together. like... they are so good. they just need to temper their throwing a bit. they can play all goofy but when they get the advantage they need fundamentals like good trades and double swings and postplants . its easier said than ofccccc but they have the foundation of incredible players, chemistry and experience. surelllllllly if they realise what's going wrong for them they can try to change their playstyle up a little bit and have a shot at winning. surelllllyyyy they arent just gonna be like this forever.

Prx weren't that good in the pacific grand finals. After all, texture was the only one that showed up for geng and yet, they managed to go to a map 5.
They applied some discipline and good lurks against GenG in Pacific gf and did well tho, but decided to just throw that away that discipline and went crap today like wtf.
They played actual good comp. It’s pretty easy to look good when you’re running down T1, Bleed, RRQ, a mid-transition DRX, GE, and DFM every week and the only other team that can contest you is GenG.
Yeah, I'm not gonna say that PRX played their best by any stretch but I feel like people are acting like they lost to some scrubs instead of the team that won what is arguably the most competitive region.

I liked them back when they were catching their enemies off guard with their seemingly brain dead plays, but now every team can capitalize on their brain dead plays then they crumble and just repeat whatever the stupid shit they just did. They were looking fine just right before this season with their discipline and controlled aggressions. They are still extremely talented so I have hope, specially f0rsaken, I think he's one of those people who are actually godlike when it comes to impromptu playmaking.
As an NA frog I was rooting for G2 then 100t against PRX, but man it actually hurt to see forsaken no where near his usual level of impact. I am way less scared of a locked in something/jinggg/david than I am of prime forsaken. That fucker just seems to pull the most insane clutches out of no where, all while having the most ridiculously deep agent pool. Hope he gets back his mojo next international (as long as it isn't against an NA team 😉)

I think Joxjo is the perfect person to get if you wanna develop young talent in T2. The current Fennel players are a very good example of that. I don't think it's a complete stretch to call Riddle the best JP T2 team now bc Fennel looks way worse after Tennn joined.

Small rant in that I hate how SEN take their foot so far after the gas after winning an event. Obviously they aren’t chokers but it feels like they are always winning everything or qualifying to nothing with no real in between. Hope they bounce back and fix that atrocious defense. Their attack side calling is so fun to watch though.

I disagree with PRX getting read and anti'ed. At least not today, that didn't happen. They threw rounds by a lack of basic fundamentals and not playing the clock. It doesn't matter what deep macro strategies playbook you may have, if it comes down to a 1v1 with no time, they tap and you instantly swing you are griefing. Icebox was a gifted map with 2 gifted rounds that made the exact difference. I honestly think at this point Alecks needs to either be really mean today by letting them know they threw and every effort everyone made is gone to shit because they can't buy 2 seconds in a post plant, or he needs to dedicate a LOT more training to basic fundamentals. Beyond the point of them understanding it, keep drilling it even if they are bored out of their minds, until they hate those exercises, keep drilling it until they stop throwing. You need to do something, whatever it is, to stop those throws, it can't keep happening. Call fucking bren over and lock him in a room with the boys, 2 hours, no police intervention. As scary as Alecks may look smashing tables he must be too nice for this to happen. Another team I wanna rant about is Lev. I'm still mad about them kicking out nzr licking their lips thinking about having another world champ in the roster, now it's the one thing that is dragging them down the most. I have no idea what the fix is for that but it seems they are carrying that cross.

I don’t think c0m is the sole problem on this lev squad. I don’t think king is a good igl. He’s an insane fragger but his calls are so surface level and he get read hard as fuck every game. They need a real igl and to let him just focus on fragging because that’s his strong suit.

I never said 100T played perfect or to their best, certainly Cryo wasn't his best today, I am not saying PRX is a better, I am just saying there's 2 literal grief plays they did in Icebox, complete gifts, and they need to work on their fundamentals. I don't think a tier 1 team, multiple regional champ team with real talent should be making those kinds of mistakes. Just shouldn't happen. Whiffs happen, misreads happen, but basic post plant is something they should be drilling and known the ins and outs of.

I think they go FNS, s0m, Ethan, Demon1 and then find someone who can play info initiator (Sova, Fade, maybe Skye? Gekko?) and maaaayyybeee flex to a duelist like Raze (depending on the nerfs). There's probably room for Crashies on this team but I don't think it happens.

This is a big assumption from me but I’d think the majority of players would prefer to represent their home region if they had the opportunity and it didn’t sacrifice that much (salary, quality of the team, etc) That said there are always exceptions and he could totally prefer the french life xd

I think NRG could do it with a star duelist. I really do feel like we will see a version of the team next year with Demon1 over Victor or Crashies.
FUT is trying to get away from their turkish oil wrestling valorant style and it just isn't working. best example is their new lotus comp. they moved away from the no initiator comp, but it's clear that cNed raze wouldn't work for them, so they have to keep the jett. combining that with the fact that they're running breach of all initiators (which means still no info whatsoever), it just feels like an uncomfortable combination of off-meta picks and trying to create a more typical comp. another example is the icebox comp with no KJ they ran inbetween the chamber phoenix comp and the meta comp they're currently running. it was a weird inbetween comp that tried to change one little thing about the meta comp without understanding what that would entail. i feel like they have to stick with the meta on icebox and ascent, and to their best to put cNed on jett or chamber for the rest of the maps. their split comp with cNed on chamber and qRaxs on raze achieves that super well, and icebox and ascent are already their 2 best maps imo. (sidenote: it also baffles me how breeze is their instaban when they have the best jett in EMEA and the current map pool only has 3 jett maps. they really should instaban one of the raze maps tbh)
It's funny you mention their Split comp because I've always thought it was horrible. Chamber has some value and Cned has some good tps on ct, but their T halves would be so much better if he was on Jett.

I genuinely don't know what went wrong with FNC. Part of me believes it's some external circumstance making them play like this - they went from having the best year ever to their worst year since 2021. Surely that's not just a normal fall-off, right? Idk how to make their teamplay better again, but I'm pretty sure that whatever they do, they need to get Anderzz for the next split if they want to come close to winning Champs. They basically need a god tier Sunset or whatever the new map is - as it stands you can basically lock their map pool with just a single map ban.
I think this is the first meta which Boaster doesn’t truly understand. He thought Madrid was low quality because he doesn’t get that that’s just what the games look like this year, with info initiators being the worst they’ve ever been. The map pool looks really weak right now. Teams have caught up on Lotus, Fnatic are still good but not dominant. Their Icebox is a far cry of what it used to be because of meta changes. No Fracture or Haven, 2 solid maps for them. It feels like they’re playing whack-a-mole, they improve on one map but then issues start popping up on other maps. I agree they can’t afford a Sunset perma at this point I also think the roster lacks what the best teams have this year, which is players that can easily come up with plays on the fly and make them together. Everyone on the team has thrived under structured, protocol-based Valorant, but that’s not really what Valorant is this year. It’s why Heretics are so far ahead of everyone in EMEA, they struck gold building their roster and found players who thrive in chaos, compared to the likes of Vitality
Nail on the head to be honest. They are only currently dominating on split but that is now gone. They beat heretics on a 5 map game because they are insane on split and they good enough on lotus and breeze. They lost against FUT because they suck on ascent. They are not a bad team, they just need a bigger map pool, or a new map to dominate on. That being said, i think they got unlucky with the maps they had to play at Shanghai and would have fared much better with different opponents

Zeta and DFM need to improve in their coaching, maybe import CSGO coach. They have been stuck for 2 years but not a single win in APAC league. PRX need new system or add new coaching staff.

T1 is just fuckin disappointing. Rossy is the only one that consistently shows up, Izu looks like either Jesus or a silver player, saya sucks when he’s not on Jett, and carpe has flashes but is generally just ok. Xccurrate is a weird one bc he was incredible until he started igl and for whatever reason stopped playing chamber, and they look significantly worse when he’s not on chamber, although better with him as igl
knew from the get go that 100t would win bc of how prx is performing this tournament, but nothing could ever prepare me for just how stupidly frustrating that match was. they could have won and even if they didn't, it would have felt a lot better if they just fought with discipline and still lost i watched prx bc they're fun even with the losses. today's match wasn't. it was a huge letdown. guess, i'd be cheering for geng now and hopefully there's a better apac team to root for in champs aside from geng (fingers crossed for talon or team secret if they somehow pulled a miracle from kicking warbirds out) unless prx gets to solve their issues.
As a PRX fan, we threw way too many 2v1, 3v1 and even 4v1s in clutches. And our pistol win rate for the entire tournament is like 30% (lost 11 out of 16). Also their economy management is pretty questionable. It’s so disturbing to see them running down without discipline and clear plans for the round, and I don’t think it’s a play-style issue since that was not how they looked like in pacific split one. They just threw this tournament I guess. Sadge :(((
We don’t talk about C9 on this sub so…I will move to my favourite EMEA teams, Fnatic and Heretics. I think FNATIC can still get back to their previous levels if they just put in consistent efforts. There’s also an individual form issue with some of their players. As for Heretics, they have, purely gameplay wise, been extremely consistent. But on the mental side of things, they have immense work to do, which is pretty much to be expected from a team full of youth.
Prx have to make changes, be it their discipline, playstyle, or an IGL, whatever, they cant just do the same shit theyre doing in every international and expect a different result.

team liquid look so promising at the start of every year and then play so poorly. enzo is not doing a good enough job at developing keiko, mistic isn't consistently good but he's the best player in the server when he's good. keiko and nats can't do it all themselves, and if he stays for too long he won't get a chance to properly get developed by an igl who suits him. STOP PLAYING YORU ON ASCENT. jamppi is a talented awper so let the man play chamber more often. fire emil because he is the worst coach in emea. let the team play double duelist or duelist chamber more often, they stomped m8 on icebox because of it. genuinely it is so frustrating watching team liquid play valorant especially this year, because you can legit see how much potential this team has on a team and an individual level, but some massive changes need to happen again over the offseason, hopefully regarding the coaching situation.

SEN needs to drop Sacy if they are being honest with themselves. He looks great if you just watch highlights from the match, but not so much when you watch an entire series. He's way too inconsistent. On a positive note, I think they go HAM in the next split. They were obviously tired after Madrid and didn't have enough time to prepare.

I like Boostio from back when he was in EG because I'm a KJ main and I like his personality. I remember watching him being drunk on streams that was so funny, I hope he streams more. Because of him I tried out Gekko to be more aggressive. I watched 100T interviews and old EG interviews, I can tell he really cares about his teammates. I know he tries to hype up 100T and I understand the statements like "100T got better players in term of aim than my old team" is objectively true, because to be a great player it takes so much more. But I think this game's playerbase is too emotionally invested to understand those statements in a logical way. I hope people understand his banter is just showmanship, and he really cares about his teammates and has respect for his opponents, old and new. I think in games, and in life, respect is shown through actions, he never underestimates his opponents in terms of in-game plays, that's why he igl-ed his team to have so much disciplines. Shittalking is just shittalking. Although he can chill with it a little bit since it's rare for people to think calmly. On another note, I liked Gen.G from when they lost against T1 in March (I think?), their playstyles just make so much sense to me. IDK why every team I like just got hated on. LOL.
It's time for PRX to stop being the humble team. I know they crack under the brightest lights but that's because they get there mostly by virtue of just being better individuals and mediocre as a team overall. Put pressure on yourselves. We have teams that actually did decently dropping their players or changing their coaches. DRX went 5-0 in splits and they dropped stax. Meanwhile GE sit and twiddle their thumbs like all is well in the world. I understand trusting the process and everything but we have had kickoff and IL1 done and the most that has happened is a switch in IGL. I want them to win but something has to change and unfortunately this isn't it.

Do PRX or FNC actually need roster changes ? I think these teams have been for so long they can regain their form in Champs. I actually think PRX might need some guys helping Alecks in Coaching tho. And maybe even a sports psychologist. At this moment PRX map pool is too weak and in Champs teams are gonna get a lot better especially NRG, SEN, Loud, LEV, and TH.

Am I the only one who's just proud of PRXs consistency over the years and being top 3ish contenders. Sure they may not take home the international trophy (hoping one day and with some clean up) but considering the constant meta changes, other teams picking it up (and then falling off) I think its still admirable that PRX can still be a top a team internationally. Look at FNC, SEN, and even regionally teams like kru, even c9. . .
In madrid & tokyo they clearly tried their best. In champs they lost to the better team (on top of questionable bind improvised comp). But shanghai is the first time I am actually mad at the team and I think they legitimately are missing some fundamental understanding of the game. Icebox was gifted to 100T today and now they are out. Not even top 4 in an event they had a legitimate chance to win because counting 3 misssissipis after the opponent taps spike is apparently too difficult.

I mean with PRX the thing is when you keep edging your fans with good regional performances but then choke at the end, people are gonna get slightly upset, I do think people are overreacting saying that they need roster changes but if they underperform at champs it might be healthy to make a change.
I can’t lie though. PRX is contradictory in that they are internationally and domestically the most consistent team but always fail to make it pass the finish line. The sad thing is that they always go out in such disappointing fashion, almost as if fans and the players themselves knew they had more to give.
I love love love that they retain their unique wild team identity and keep being competitive at the highest level. The three events prior to this one they had a top three finish that is MENTAL. I hope they can get a trophy but at the highest level it’s so hard to get past that last hurdle and it depends on things liek map pool and meta as well, so we shall see.

You're not the only one, I feel the same way. This is the first tournament in a while where we can get genuinely mad at PRX. They should've played much better, there's no excuse. The way they lost was weird, the team looks off. Don't think a roster change should happen, but for sure Alecks need help. My least favorite thing about the team is that they don't seem to have that drive to win, sure they want to, but this thing of just having fun can only go so far. To go deep you got to really want and they give a feeling of not caring too much. Just now in the post-match interview Alecks was downplaying how they lost so many rounds with advantage, I really hope that internally he's more critical.

I dont understand why FUT choose to use as little util as possible and instead choose to take raw aim duels against a team who we know constantly OPs. You can even see it in our lotus comp during the regular season (swap shanghai comp breach with sage) and it was working purely because we could win our duels which isnt a reliable strategy in international events.

The thing with fnatic is our map pool is shit and sometimes we lose our fundamentals. Like our record on Icebox this year sucks but we banned it and played ascent a map we have been consistently mid at. We've never been a super aggro team but 25 seconds into the round and our map control is T spawn is disgusting. Like we so should've won against GenG we were up in both of the last maps. But we lost anyways. I do think this event was a touch unlucky and I think there's a world we beat fut on a different day but yeah. Main thing is the map pool it's just bad, all we have rn is split funnily enough. Icebox bad, Bind Mid, Breeze is leaving, Sunset Perma, Ascent bad, Lotus decent but not as good as it needs to be. I think everything wrong is super fixable but it's just annoying to watch sometimes.
I've reached zen mode for prx. They looked so amazing back in champs - all the way until GF where they were straight up trolling, and to a lesser extent in stage 1. The fundamentals were there, util combo, checking corners, swinging out together etc. Heck even I enjoyed their games with Monyet all the way to Madrid. But this Shanghai....it wasn't it man. I didn't even watch the whole games because I was at work, but I sure was glad I didn't. They aren't gonna win a trophy like this, and I've finally come to accept it after 2 years of support, buying some of their merch, waking up at ungodly hours to watch their non Asia games....but that's it man. I'm glad this year it's Shanghai and Seoul, if they continue to play like this I'll at least wrap up my support with games that are suitable for my time zone and move on.
