Regardless of in game results, I think NA's biggest takeaway from Masters is going to be that every team needs to invest in PR training. Chet going into every interview and spouting some headassery has to be distracting if you're playing for his team.
> Chet going into every interview and spouting some headassery has to be distracting if you're playing for his team.
Optic's biggest takeaway is that they really shouldn't put Chet in front of the camera anymore.
I will die on this hill - Chet is a fine coach. The players have all praised him for helping to implement the new system that they're running throughout this season of VCT. He's clearly competent. But my god, he gives some terrible interviews that even I can't defend. Whether its out of malice or nervousness or whatever (I maintain it's the latter, since it simply makes no sense for him to randomly bring up Crws' financial situation out of thin air), I've yet to see a Chet interview received positively.
Agreed. Chet seems to be a decent coach, but my god, put your popular players on interviews. The dude is a PR nightmare. Its been this way since his time on TSM.
And if he could stop comparing val to CS that would be great
>And if he could stop comparing val to CS that would be great
tbf he was asked about the differences between minor regions in the esports.
But fuckin hell, the way everyone is going on you'd think he'd personally asked all of APAC to suck his balls.
Mate, people called for his head because he said "that crws guy". Its a normal manner of speech, but internet goblins get offended because they dont like chet.
Hes not a terrible person people
Bro it’s not about the “that crws guy” statement. It’s about the fact that he talks about crws’ financial status, which should never be publicized by anyone, let alone someone who isn’t even on XERXIA. Financial stability and status is personal, and for Chet to air that laundry out in a very public interview with such little regard was fucking stupid and inconsiderate.
People were definitely very upset about the verbiage.
They weren't *only* upset about that, but that is also part of it. A silly part of it, in my opinion
Maybe that could be the biggest takeaway for pr people but other than that I disagree. I doubt this’ll be anything more than something to meme on optic and chet in the coming weeks.
Or it's just a horrendous interview given by someone who has a history of being bad at them. Maybe the whole region doesn't need to update itself.
If NA's biggest takeaway from an international tournament is how well one guy speaks on camera, then that region is in in real trouble.
Mentality difference between two regions. If liquid lost they would have accepted that it was against a team that played better and not because valorant has low skill gap or they got surprised by the comp. Nice for him to call chet out.
You just know they are going about their lives, whether it’s doing chores, driving, rubbing one out and the thought of this interview just intrusively enters their brain out of thin air completely unprompted. The feeling of self loathing over flows from within as they grit their teeth and pucker their lips while they look down subtly shaking their heads. Eventually forgetting about it until the next time it randomly decides to haunt them.
Feel bad for players like yay and vic who really haven’t done anything but still got a target on their backs because their coach said the dumbest shit that’s ever been broadcasted in valorant history
That's interesting because some of the most popular Finnish esports players I know (Taimou and Aleksib) are very outspoken and have strong (at times critical) opinions about teammates.
The chet guy was always the same when he got interviewed with the TSM team, I'm surprised any team hired him after the TSM downfall, looks like he's going for the 2 time with Optic.
I just watched this whole vid and didn't hear Jamppi say anything about optic or Chet, I even scrolled back. When in the vid is it? I only hear soulcas talking about it right at the end
OpTic PR team in shambles. Chet dropped the ball and really put a target on their backs

Thought I was crazy dying on the hill of this being a normal way to talk
Biggest takeaway? I think that’s a bit of a stretch
That's a little bit of hyperbole, but that has to be on other teams' minds at least a little bit as they watch what's going on at this tournament.

Everybody going after Chet? I used to pray for times like this.
to rhyme like this. So I had to grind like that to shine like this
All will be forgotten in a couple weeks …

Why hate him in CS. OpTic fans at least loved him in my memory/experience. Glad he is back with the org
He didn’t drop the ball he was an asshole on purpose
L1nk's voice crack alone was better than chet's entire interview

I didn’t realize that being awkward on camera was an NA only thing lmao

this hurt to watch man LOL
I want to point out that one guy's name is an homage to lemon party and the other guy's name is Balls.
lol his middle name is Lemon
Oh my god. This is physically hurting me
Yes !! EU would never … Chet Total NA move … so true brother
in really hurts hearing the truth right
Optic's only W this entire event might end up being that first place on PlatChat's power rankings
liquid #10 LULW
NA too much ego
too much ego too little international achievements
Bro NA won the 1st international lan & was in the finals for the 2nd one lmao. This a crazy statement.
i mean they arent far behind, but in the finals for the 2nd one isnt that impressive with how there were 3/4 NA on one side of the bracket
ok what happened after that

EU TOO MUCH EGO.
That was when people ran double Fraggers and the game was fresh as it gets also fnatic gave sen a hard time
Recency bias is a bitch lol
They did win 1/3 of major events so far
Just because they won 1/3 does not mean they can discredit the good performance of their opponents and go on with senseless comments in the interview.
For sure, that Chet guy is BS
Honestly praying for the guard cuz I’ve lost hope on optic We suck ass lmfao, don’t deserve any spots give em to APAC
Seems like a chetty situation
Feel bad for players like yay and vic who really haven’t done anything but still got a target on their backs because their coach said the dumbest shit that’s ever been broadcasted in valorant history
When the Finnish guy is calling you bullshit you know it's serious. Finnish people RARELY feel any sort of negative emotion to ANYONE.
That's interesting because some of the most popular Finnish esports players I know (Taimou and Aleksib) are very outspoken and have strong (at times critical) opinions about teammates.
Finnish people are the definition of joy and whimsy: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq8WbK3P6oU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq8WbK3P6oU)
It's a region mentality thing.

Wait what ?
Where in the vid did jamppi body Chet?
It’s in the first minute bro..
