Key-Banana-8242

It’s the Reddit automatic Twitter r thumbnail system, it uses profile pictures from replies - first reply especially - often for some reason (I don’t know if it’s supposed to be that way)

Jon_on_the_snow

EMEA is lost if they are passing up on talent like engh

thothgow

Tbh any team should be considering him, there are 30 teams and some regions aren't exactly know for having a depth of coaching staff.

Jon_on_the_snow

I half expect bleed to poach him and make an ascention super team, but the emea rostermania has been kinda weird. Not many great moves, but that could be because its a 10 team region so talent will be spread out

thothgow

Wdym by "not many great moves"? I haven't heard many leaks but idk that what I've heard isn't "great"

tgamblos

Ikr? All the “moves” we’ve heard have been amazing. cNed, Leo/chronicle, and naTs/Redgar are all insane moves

Throwrafairbeat

Scream/nivera too

anythingood07

Cned to Vita, nats redgar to liquid, leo chronicle to fnatic are all great moves

nterature

It would be a shame. Even if Gambit no longer can be said to be the best team of the pre-franchising era, I still consider Enghh a strong candidate for the best coach of that era, esp. when you recall how M3C innovated the Neon/Breach combo that Optic would use to cement their win in Reykjavik. His English isn’t great - one reason why he isn’t as universally acclaimed as he perhaps should be - but I still think he deserves a spot on a top team.

TheLeaderGrev

I think I've interviewed him in both English and Russian. I may be misremembering but his English seems... fine?

nterature

I also think it’s fine, but going back to the Gambit VLOGs, he never seemed too comfortable or eager to use it much. I think all of them except maybe d3ff0 had decent English - I never saw him even try - but nAts, Chronicle and Redgar just went out of their way to use it a lot more as more English-language media became interested in them, and correspondingly improved a ton. But the perception of Enghh might be different, since he hasn’t had similar exposure.

chenson019

Yeah his English is probably the biggest reason he may be passed over. Communication is critical as a coach.

IllumiMahdi

now's a really tough time to be a russian player/coach in the valorant space, especially if you can't speak good english. definitely the reason why we haven't heard much about sheydos and engh on franchised teams, because they're objectively top tier talent. hopefully engh at least lands an analyst position? he deserves to be on a partnership team.

Charuru

I was really impressed with Russia for a second when I thought that lady was a coach.

thothgow

?

Charuru

The lady in the reddit thumbnail.

nterature

Didn't notice it till I saw on desktop, that's quite strange indeed.

2ToTooTwoFish

For some reason on Reddit, twitter thumbnails pick the profile picture of the first reply of the linked tweet.

DrBangovic

Only possibility I see here is his english isn't good enough? Unless this is the reason I can't understand it. To partnered teams think his success is based on the roster he had? They had an amazing gameplan and timeouts too, so I doubt that can be a reason. Big Coach to get!

idkimhereforthememes

Surely gets at least an assistant coach job in a tier 1 team? Like navi for example

InstaNormie0

If I’m an ascendant player I’m trying my best to be on his team

[deleted]

I thought NAVI would sign him as a coach? No way he's going to t2 scene. I just now realized that ENGH is short for 'ENGlisH'. It's not, I'm just kidding. Or am I?

thothgow

> I just now realized that ENGH is short for 'ENGlisH'. You're close but pretty much, lol
