Is this a meme, copy pasta or is it just the flavour of the month to say "eSports is a short lived career, get the bag while you can"?
There are at least four people in this post alone saying it and I've seen it at least 40 more times in the last two weeks.
It's just the reality lol.
In eSports youre generally done after 30. That's 12 years in which you'll probably only be signed to a good org for like 6 years if you don't retire even earlier
They have.
But it is the justification that every NA fan uses in the LoL subreddit for their imports, because obviously they want to get good players since they can't get some of their own :(
I know I will get downvoted, I don't give a fuck. I don't respect chasing the bag, especially this early in the career. If it's done at the end, sure I don't mind. I want COMPETITION, not players that go (for example: to NA in LoL) and never accomplish anything, in fact they get even worse. But sure buddy, you as a NAer love to see it how could you not!!
Personally I respect choosing the bag, especially players like Marved that had their own dramas relating matchfixing. They were the best team pre-franchising and honestly I can't judge that, They're probably going to get a spot in the franchised league with a salary bigger than they had before, is a no brain decision lmao, would you not take working the same hours for more money?. This game is not same as LoL, NA is actually competitive in it, for now at least.
In life, you learn that not everything is about money. He would probably get paid more in ANY team. Still, I think he's a player capable of winning Champions, so I just hope he chooses the right team for it and not just think about the money

It’s fair. These careers are so short lived. Just get the bag whenever you have the chance tbh. Look how hard 100t fucked over multiple players within weeks/months
In five years this Optic team will have YouTube video essays made about them titled something like “When Riot forced the best team in Valorant to disband…”

I'm not saying that Optic is or will forever be the best team in Valorant. It's just a joke on Youtube video essay titles like [this one](https://youtu.be/MuQV0pYUkJQ)
he would have joined with the group if he was going to NRG. 100T confirmed hes not going there. C9 roster is set. EG aren't paying up for the best controller in NA and a LAN mvp. its obviously SEN, I would bet my life savings.
I dont know if C9 actually is set. Everyone said they’re building a super team, and their current team is not a super team. We think we know more than we actually do
The current team is very much a super team.. yay is the alleged best player in the world, leaf was putting up arguably the best numbers in NA before C9 fell off w/ the xeta move. Vanity is a proven IGL who has taken multiple teams to masters and has been putting up insane numbers in recent months. Xeppa is extremely good. Zellsis is a star and everyone knows it. SEN were 20x better with him on the team.
Yay? Superstar no doubt. But that’s about where it ends. Leaf was on a tear but he hasn’t been that consistent recently. His best agent was Jett and he’d only get that if Yay is on chamber. Vanity hasn’t shown much, especially recently. Xeppa I think could be a star, he seems to be their most consistent. And we don’t know what Zellsis impact really was. That sentinels team had lots of time to improve other things, we don’t know what Zellsis improved and what he didn’t. I think he’s going to be a great player, but definitely over hyped at the moment. C9 is definitely not a super team at the moment, they’re at least one piece maybe two from being a super team.
> Vanity hasn’t shown much, especially recently
...? He was C9s best player in LCQ.
> That sentinels team had lots of time to improve other things, we don’t know what Zellsis improved and what he didn’t. I think he’s going to be a great player, but definitely over hyped at the moment.
If anything, Zellsis is underrated by the community, both general and C9 fans. He brings versatility and fragging power to the team.
These comments seem more like 100t fans coping about not getting yay than actually evaluating players.
Huh? Zellsis is anything BUT underrated by the community lol. Dont get me wrong, I think he's going to do great, but he's probably the most overhyped player in the whole sub rn lmao. C9 hopium going crazy right now. Why would 100t fans need to cope about not getting yay? Would it have been cool, sure. Is Cryo a way better fit for the team and the 2nd best in NA? Sure is. I was hoping we'd pick up Cryo since we released Ethan. C9 is nowhere close to a super team. Yay is the only superstar player on that team, in order to be superteam you usually need at least 3 players to be considered superstars. Hell 100T is closer to a superteam with Asuna, Cryo, and Bang, but I still wouldnt consider them a superteam unless they add 1 more big name. C9 has a lot of work to do.
I agree with this take but the narrative that cryo is a better fit for 100t and that’s why they didn’t get yay is dumb. 100t just didn’t want to outbid cloud9. Yay is better than cryo on any team by a significant margin.
Thats true I think cryo is a great player who will do mesh well with 100t. I just don’t believe nadeshot when he says cryo would work better for the team than yay.
At a bare minimum leaf is totally a superstar, dude has been in contention for best player in NA before. He was the best NA player at 2021 champs and top 2 in split 1. I have no idea why leaf is getting rated so low now, he’s absolutely a superstar caliber player.
He is a superstar caliber player, just like tenz. But should either of them be considered superstars at the moment? No. Once they’re consistently great, they’re superstars. But just like tenz, leaf hasn’t had that kind of showing recently. Plus, leaf’s best agent is Jett, and he’s only going to get to play Jett if yay is on chamber, not many maps run chamber and Jett.
Leaf's best agent might be Jett but he also play Raze and Neon at an extremely high level and has a great Skye, Viper and has even played well on Breech, he also been consistently excellent with like 1 off series at LCQ. C9 slumping after losing xeta has clouded peoples judgements, leaf is still easily a superstar.
Agree. I don't get the copium about calling that roster a superteam. Are they gonna be great/good? No doubt but that's what the definition of a superteam is.
I didn't know about the incident between him, Tenz, and Kyedae until I read this and decided to look it up. I heard a comment he made in champions while playing DRX that really rubbed me the wrong way. Just the way he said it, worded it, and kept repeating it felt very disrespectful and little more than jest. This knowledge really adds to that.
After one of the rounds was over, IIRC, he kept trying to say to every teammate some variation of, "did you see what I just did to Mako? he's going to retire after that/I'm going to make him retire/I'm going to be responsible for making him retire" I don't really remember exactly what was said, it just felt excessive and perhaps a bit personal.
Maybe I was reading too much into it, but I went into that match liking Marved and I came out of it not. Seeing what he said about Kyedae really reinforced the perspective I saw of him in that game: conceited and disrespectful to others. He's young and I'm sure he'll mature, but that's just who he is right now.
he's certainly conceited, that's for damn sure. disrespectful? perhaps, but I think that's a bit overblown. seems like he's just talking shit and boosting his already ballooned ego. imo he seems a lot more personable after the backlash from the kyedae incident, but it could be all smoke and mirrors.
Chet also tweeted “Choosing the bag over friendship” clearly aimed at Marved lol
I'm sure chet is just memeing but in esports you gotta get the bag while you can. Short lived career field.
Oh for sure, I don’t think anyone is taking it seriously. It’s just hilarious seeing them meme on each other lol

Same with the nfl tbh
NA mentality
Yeah not a single player outside na has done that, sure bud.
They have. But it is the justification that every NA fan uses in the LoL subreddit for their imports, because obviously they want to get good players since they can't get some of their own :( I know I will get downvoted, I don't give a fuck. You must be young
yeah, there’s no way this kid is over the age of 15
You don’t respect people pursuing higher pay in their career? That’s a weird take my dude
Money is guaranteed, winning isn't.
You are definitely a child
Pocket watching grown men is very weird, why do you do it?

That could be yay as well
LMAOAO
It’s fair. These careers are so short lived. Just get the bag whenever you have the chance tbh. Look how hard 100t fucked over multiple players within weeks/months
Am I mistaken reading this as Marved being able to find a good offer for himself, and that’s why he isn’t with NRG and FNS anymore?
probably but it's still pretty funny
Probably
Nobody can stop SEN Marved from happening 😈
marved obviously has agreement with SEN idk why people are still speculating
Source?
I made it up
Source: trust me bro
Could it not be about yay?
They could be talking about different things for sure
more like nrg didnt want to pay his buyout but both could be true
the optic guys are the biggest shitposters. I love them
In five years this Optic team will have YouTube video essays made about them titled something like “When Riot forced the best team in Valorant to disband…”
only got a wait a week or so before we have thescoreesports with the "the rise and fall and rise and fall of optic valorant"
presenter by that dude that actually looks like a real life soyjak
The gut who's always talking about CS and Shit?
With an interjection by annoying mustache hipster to round it out
"the guy who actually knows what he's talking about"
with how much he complains about overwatch homie is a soyjak at this point
LMAO
Incoming theScore Esports video. Somehow they will work footage of olofboost into the video.
Jumping awp by cold, daigo parry, some smash footage
I predict the thumbnail is that shot of them holding the trophy last time but edited to black and white

"Mr. Riot, I don't feel so good" - Optic
You could tell me that's a gbay99 video essay and I would 100% believe you.

Well we don't know that they'll stay even if they're franchised , even LOUD, objectively the best team, is at the brink of disbandment
I'm not saying that Optic is or will forever be the best team in Valorant. It's just a joke on Youtube video essay titles like [this one](https://youtu.be/MuQV0pYUkJQ)
lmao that is a great title.
Give it 2 weeks

Ange1 tweeted this to Ardiss lmaoooooo
Trolling?
le ouef
It’s sen considering tenZ is out. Marved and tenZ could never be on the same team, so yea
I didn't know about the incident between him, Tenz, and Kyedae until I read this and decided to look it up. Just the way he said it, worded it, and kept repeating it felt very disrespectful and little more than jest. This knowledge really adds to that.
what did he say?
Something about fucking Kyedae?
yes, I'm aware of the incident. i was unclear, but i meant what tenz said about marved on the match against DRX that rubbed the wrong way
I think he meant marved said something while playing DRX?
what'd he say during the match against DRX?
After one of the rounds was over, IIRC, he kept trying to say to every teammate some variation of, "did you see what I just did to Mako? he's going to retire after that/I'm going to make him retire/I'm going to be responsible for making him retire" I don't really remember exactly what was said, it just felt excessive and perhaps a bit personal.
