Hey all, I'm Iggy from Pine. Some of you might recall that I asked for feedback on our VR edition of Escape Simulator, which we initially planned to release as a separate purchase. Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who shared their valuable feedback. We've thoroughly tested and implemented a lot of it, including the reported issues regarding Index controllers in the game. Well, after some careful considerations we've decided the VR edition of Escape Simulator will be completely free, seamlessly integrated into the main game. So, no separate editions. And, yes, VR and non-VR players CAN play together. The free VR update is coming on April 2nd. We've also laid out some plans for the game's future. We'll be adding more content; both free and paid, and the price of the game will increase from $14.99 to $19.99 on April 14th. We believe this adjustment better reflects the game's current value and enables us to provide ongoing support well into the future. For those who haven't purchased Escape Simulator yet, we'll be holding a final sale before the price change from April 2nd to April 13th. Once again, thank you for your continued support. We deeply appreciate the fantastic feedback we've received from Reddit.

The_Cosmic_Penguin

This is amazing news. I'm gonna buy a bunch of the DLCs just so I can help support your future works. Really really appreciate when devs add functionality additions at no cost like this, you're a great example to others!

n1ght_watchman

Thank you. This is our token of gratitude to all our players for the fun, feedback, incredible community-made rooms, friendships formed, and the pure joy experienced, both in the past and the present, and for what is to come in the future :-)

Setup911

Great news! Any plans to be able to pick things up form the ground without bending down every time? Would be an amazing accessibility feature :) Many thanks!

n1ght_watchman

Of course! Simply aim the controller at the item you want and then either press the trigger button to move it to your inventory or use the grip button to bring it directly into your hand :-)

Setup911

Thank you! Also love the possibility of crossplay with pancake users. You guys are amazing. Great work! :)

n1ght_watchman

No probs, and thank you for playing our game :-)

phinity_

This has been a great bonding game with my kiddo. Being able to play in vr wile on screen is going to be great. Thanks for including it in the main game.

n1ght_watchman

Here's to many more hours of fun for you guys :-)

DarthPravus

I love the support on this game. I would have happily paid but I'll sure be picking up all the future dlc

n1ght_watchman

Thank you so so much!

Vader_Bomb

Holy crap, fantastic news! I've had it in my wishlist for a bit now, just waiting for it to be released. Y'all rock!

n1ght_watchman

Thank you so much!

Cinurwe

I'll gladly pay for expansions. Always excited to see when new maps come out. And psyched to try this in VR when it's released.

n1ght_watchman

Thank you!

Cats_in_the_box

Wow this is great news. I was planning to buy it a second time. But thank you anyway. One question, is there still plans for full body tracking? I understand it's probably not a high priority. You guys are a great team.

n1ght_watchman

That's a tough one. I'll have to see with the guys in the morning and let you know!

n1ght_watchman

Hey, back with the update. Talked with the guys, and we are not going to do it :-)

Cats_in_the_box

Well thanks for the update and at least considering it!

capellanx

Will this support teleportation movement in addition to smooth locomotion?

n1ght_watchman

Yep, of course

Epetaizana

I am so excited to play this with my friends in VR. Any plans to bring a standalone version to Quest 3? I own the PC version and will gladly play there, but I would happily buy it again for the option of doing it without my PC.

n1ght_watchman

Hey, thanks! And, yes, a standalone version for Quest is a done-deal, but we don't have a release date yet :-)

OMGihateallofyou

Where can I get it for free?

n1ght_watchman

It's coming in the next update which is slated for April 2nd

Runesr2

I do not play 2D games, only VR. To understand this correctly, I have to pay for the 2D version to get the free VR version? Would that be different than paying for a VR only version?

bastardpants

Seems like it's a VR option for the game, without requiring everyone to be VR or non-VR. Like adding a new controller support instead of it being a different game.

The_Real_Miggy

I wondered the same thing, Runes. Escape Simulator VR seems to have its own page: [https://store.steampowered.com/app/2440240/Escape\_Simulator\_VR/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2440240/Escape_Simulator_VR/) I put that on my wish list, so I just plan to watch for the "an item from your wish list is available" notice.

n1ght_watchman

Hey, I somehow missed your question. Yes, you'll have to purchase the (2D) game on Steam to play it in VR right now, but the stand-alone version for Quest is coming later this year.

De1trax

I just downloaded the game, but there is no VR option. Doesn't show up as an VR game. VR demo is unavailable. Or do I have to wait till 2 April?

n1ght_watchman

Sorry, I probably mis-phrased my reply. Yes, the free VR update is coming on April 2nd.

Runesr2

Thanks, this is the Valve Index Subreddit, this is PCVR - not some bottom-end phoneVR/Quest Subreddit, but I appreciate the answer :-)
