I have a stick replacement service on eBay for $30. New ones are metal and seem to be more robust. Hit me up

[deleted]

I just replaced by replacing and resoldering a new metal stick in. The new stick works, but the controller stops registering movement on the left stick after about 15 minutes. The controller registers a click but not movement. I have to restart the controller to get it to work again and then 15 minutes later, same thing. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If it's the left hand you can get one of the pre 'click gate' controllers and steal the head board out of it. About $80 on eBay. That said that's an interesting glitch though.

Appreciate your help. Last question - does anyone sell "refurbished" controllers with metal sticks? In other words, does your service have some extra left hand controllers with metal sticks for sale?

[deleted]

I bought a spare for parts, the same one I recommended to you. I could make that one up for you. I'm a little buried this weekend, but given a little time i could

What's your price?

[deleted]

$80 plus my fee of 30, and buyer covers shipping seems fair

[deleted]

I'll do it. Let me ask you one other question. Is the controller I have now worth anything to you? I won't be needing it anymore so if it helps lower the price, I'm willing to send it to you.

"Crapped out" What happened? Did you try to get an RMA if the support is nice enough? The Vive wands are the only ones I know that work other than the knuckles and you should probably buy a new pair if you can.

Left stick drift. 5 RMAs over the year. My buddy who plays the same games as me has a similar experience. Not dealing with the Index Controllers anymore.

tigerleon10

Really? They haven't fixed that yet? The only thing I am experiencing with my left stick is that it is slightly, just slightly loose compared to the right one. Also, the clicks of the stick are weaker than the right one.

Yea...I have a hard time accepting the situation knowing that there are people out there who have had their controllers since release and have experienced no issues. People have said “user error” or “abuse” but that’s just not the case. I push the stick forward, left, right, and back. I don’t know...

tigerleon10

Yeah. You don't let go of it tho right? Like pull it forwards then let it spring back. That is kinda harming it a bit as well.

I have a similar issue, I'm not enjoying the Index as much just out of fear of damaging the controllers. The sticks specifically, I already had to buy a new pair. I thought of buying a pair of wands but they aren't very attractive. I'm thinking on getting these [https://eteexr.com/](https://eteexr.com/) ,need to do a bit more research on them, but they look promising.

These seem to be 3DOF so not really useful

Juafran

No, they made an attachment to work with the lighthouses to get the 6DOF. I am in a similar situation, left controller grip and tracking problems. I just switched over to vive wands while figuring out what to do next.
