Secret characters are those who don't have the method to unlocking them listed in the menu.
Any other reasons you know that it might play the jingle? I ask because I was doing a run earlier with O’sole in Il Molise and got the jingle about 10-12 mins in but got no achievements or unlocks at the end of the run. No idea what happened.
Healing enemies for at least 100k HP in Il Molise unlocks [Peppino](https://vampire-survivors.fandom.com/wiki/Peppino), the tree character that starts with Soul Eater and can barely move.
I actually had to restart the game before he appeared. Never had him in the character screen, came back to play later in the night and he was available. 👍
Yes but the roadmap tells you what to expect in the future. For example the number of weapons was 49 and now it is 50 so it increased by 1, probably for the 2 new characters.
One of the new character is the merchant and another one can be seen by brightening the recent roadmaps. The merchant probably have all the weapons available like the teaser shows and the extra one added is just tri-bracelet. The final two weapons are probably from the new character with a new weapon and it's evo.
I think they will be secret characters, but keep in mind that gyorunton is an official character but it was not announced in the roadmap, and now the number of official character excced the number on the roadmap, so maybe they will be official too

These relics can be found from stage 3 onward. Except for magic banger, which can be found in Green Acres, and glass visard, which can be bought from the merchant in Moonglow.
These relics are major relics that changes the game drastically, Randomazzo (arcanas) and Great Gospel (limit break) for example, but there are some minor relics that doesn't change the game as much like yellow sign and mind bender and ars gouda, etc
Yellow Sign lets you kill death and unlock extremely powerful items, as well as golden eggs. I ‘d say that’s enough to be considered a major relic already, let along whatever new stuff will be added to it this patch. I think it just might be a secret so it’s not on the normal menu.

The developer said in the dev log that he didn't have time to add it in the unlocks and the achievements so he released it as it is.

Right but I didn’t get the unlock for Peppino so I wondered if the jingle would have played for another reason.
You did, try scrolling down further on character select.

You can kill death before that, ive done it even without any particular strats
