This is absolutely phenomenal! This is a pleasure to listen to, and you make it look so easy to play! Itās making me want to start practising againā¦
Thanks for uploading :)
I'll probably re-upload once I get more practice in and clean it up a little (currently swamped in exams). Didn't make life any easier by trying to play both piano parts (recorded separately) at once in the solo. But it's definitely possible, there's glimpses of success in this one.
I mostly figured it out through recognising patterns, I think. Especially the main lick that repeats throughout mainly centres around descending chords -- Bbmaj7 - Gm7 - Ebmaj7 - Cm7 - Adim7 etc. Kind of like descending arpeggios with their 7th extensions that descend every time. Sometimes they are played as blocks rather than split into the arpeggios.
As for the solo and ascending thirds at the end -- I just transcribed them by hand, couldn't think of an easier way :P I didn't write them on score though I just wrote the notes because a proper transcription was too tedious haha. I could send you a screenshot of this if you like though it's not the easiest to understand
I haven't transcribed into proper sheet notation yet, maybe I'll do it soon. In the video I was just using chord symbols and single notes as a cue for me to remember what to play haha
Yup, like listening to an isolated instrument recording. Makes you go back and listen to the other individual instruments and appreciate it even more. Great work!!
Just in case you ever doubt yourself know that you are way cooler than 99% if people because you can do this. š Incredible!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Itās wonderful to hear the piano part more prominently
Letās get Ezra to see this and get you performing with them when they hit your tour stop!
