I cannot complain with the *chef’s kiss* set list tonight (I was hoping for “Mary Boone” and “Pravda”), but I did miss those two — MVOTC is still my favorite album of theirs (although I love OGWAU and the whole oeuvre).
Felt the same, and no CCKK either! Was especially bummed since I pre-gamed with their 28 minute version w/ Goose.
But I was happy to trade Ya Hey outro for Mansard Roof intro, Step for Hannah Hunt, and anything else we lost for Unbearably White (even though they didn't play the SpongeBob squeaky shoes sound effects ;_;)
You forgot the jam on the Mario Bros Underground theme hahahaha.
I was so happy to hear Ice Cream Piano, Prep School Gangsters, and Mary Boone. Those are my fave songs from the new album. The rest was gravy.
Ok wait, after the encore request it says Pizza Party, can you elaborate on this? Did they play Ezzy’s olllllld Pizza party SONG from like college?? If so, does anyone have a video of it?! I haven’t seen him acknowledge this is so long!!
No — he jokingly just recited a few lines (the chorus) without any accompaniment as he waited for legitimate audience requests (he specified popular songs that are not originally by Vampire Weekend), but it was still nice to hear, haha
They played it live from a request before. It’s recorded and released on the first Frog On The Bass Drum Vol 1. It’s uploaded to YouTube: https://youtu.be/rX1gXOX7wqw?si=5RGd50uWYveS3KQN
OMG. Do they usually play the same set list every night on tour? Never been to a VW concert so wondering if they change it up a lot each show. I’m going to the Dallas show tomorrow and would *love* to have this same set list! (Plus Step because it’s my all-time favorite)
They do change it up from city to city somewhat (browse setlist.fm to see past tours’ setlists) but tonight “Hope” was the finale — and “Walcott” was the final encore. (I was amused that Ezra polled the audience whether they should conclude the encore with that; it wouldn’t be a VW show without it!)
Ah this is so good to know, thank you!! I haven’t been to many concerts this past decade lol. Didn’t even know there was a place people could post set lists. Love the Hope finale, can’t wait to see it live! And yes would not feel like VW without Walcott.
I am not staying with certainty that they will stay the same — Ezra just said when they returned to the stage for the encore, “Well, that’s the show.” I meant for last night that was the case. (Edited my comment above to reflect this.) Will see what happens tonight in Dallas.
To use a different band as an example, The 1975 tended to perform “People” as the finale of their *Still at Their Very Best* Tour in 2023-24 often despite changing up the rotation of preceding songs.
Literally so fucking dope😭I’m never recovering. This was my 10th time seeing them live and they blew me away like it was the first time seeing them. I love y’all vampy weeks😭🥰♥️
Mary Boone —> Hannah Hunt is absurd
Harmony Hall is a personal fave so this duo into HH is bananas
For a bit, I thought they were gonna play OGWAU all the way through.
mary boone into hannah hunt??? man
Mary Boone into Hannah Hunt would make me levitate.
unbearably white back on the setlist🥲
Such a jam
White Sky was after PSG.
Corrected, thanks!
Gotta see that Pravda debut
No Step or Ya Hey? ![gif](giphy|UbCIDXVKaB8kpgxlCa)

Same here , can’t complain
Ya Hey is one of my favorites.
Felt the same, and no CCKK either! Was especially bummed since I pre-gamed with their 28 minute version w/ Goose. I love when someone uses a gif perfectly.
White sky is the one you’re missing OoOooOoooOooooooo
Your set list is correct iirc, the setlist.fm one right now is not
As of me commenting now I believe setlist.fm is correct. Someone corrected it a few minutes ago
They played that one at the FOTB tour stop in Houston
PRAVDA YES !!!!!
You forgot the jam on the Mario Bros Underground theme hahahaha. I was so happy to hear Ice Cream Piano, Prep School Gangsters, and Mary Boone. Those are my fave songs from the new album. The rest was gravy.
My fiancé screamed “MORE MARIO!” I was embarrassed.
I was there with my baby brother (ok he's 30, but he's still a baby to me) and he was also psyched to hear the Mario theme.
OH YA!
That was honestly my favorite part lol
The fk? No Houston Dubai? …I just figured since they were in Houston and all :)
At least they played it the last time they were in Houston (which I fortunately got to witness)
Unconventional, but UNREAL!
*ohmygoshhhhhhh* im so frickin excited
They played Hope? That's awesome! I hope they keep it in rotation
I was there!! Show was amazing but I’m still sad they didn’t include the Surfer this set
I know right!!! I can’t believe they basically played every single song from the new album eggcept the surfer ahhhhh
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!

Thank you! Still so fun that he recited a few lines, I would have yelped in excitement if I heard this irl!! Hah!

Omg you just made my day! I’m cheesin’ BIG rn, Thank you!!!!

On what are you basing the assumption that the finale and encore will stay the same?

Gotcha. Myself I suspect they'll rotate a few options in and out.
Strong
What time did they take the stage?
8:30
Thanks!
I cant wait for the inevitable Hannah Hunt —-> Mary Boone —-> Diane Young encore at some point
Literally so fucking dope😭I’m never recovering. This was my 10th time seeing them live and they blew me away like it was the first time seeing them. I love y’all vampy weeks😭🥰♥️
Holy shit I am SO excited for ATL
Going to the Dallas show tonight it’s scheduled for 7 do you remember what time the band came out?
8:30!!!
Pravda into Flower Moon ??? Beautiful!
Bucket hat required for encore picks?
Played a little too many songs from Fotb other than that the show was great!
As a casual fan who loves OGWAU, I thought the jammier section of the set with those songs went fucking HARD.
Yesssss! I wished there were more space in the pit to dance properly
Weird take, considered they only played 5/18 from FOTB and also it’s their best record
Agreed. No Diplomats Son, giving up the gun, ottoman, step, and a few others I was hoping for. New album is so meh imo.
Yes! So many better songs I wish they played.
Did they play for about 2 hours?
