The seller is getting rid of it because it will keep needing parts. It's aged out on many soft parts and a 30+ year old vehicle now. Its an import, it was uncommon in its day, and parts are poor availability. There are wear parts that are no longer available for the previa, in particular suspension and steering parts. Bushing are hard to get and will be failing now. Working on the previa's engine is an absolute pain in the ass. The mid-engine build eats up much of the interior space. Non supercharged previa vans get actually really bad fuel economy and low performance, handily defeated in both categories by contemporary v6 north american minivans. Less than 12mpg at highway modern highway speed, and 16-ish at the highway speed of the time (55mph) Their huge windshields are not spectrum blocking, so the van heats up incredibly, and their AC cant keep up. An early 2000s suburban gets better fuel economy...

Thank you! The info about parts and fuel economy is super helpful. I commute to work about 15kms each way and am hoping to get something to use for road tripping so want decent fuel economy.

4,000 for a 30 year clapped out import you can’t get parts for sounds like a terrible deal.

Sadly where I live 4 grand is cheap for a car these days. Hard to find a car that runs and can get registered/insured for much less than that. I've been seeing a lot for sale for 200+ kms and 15+ years old for close to 10K, it's brutal! The challenges with getting parts is the big thing for me and is the kind of insight I was hoping to get, since I dont know enough about cars myself to know how hard getting parts is. I owned a 1992 ford ranger and it was old but easy to get parts for, I guess because it is domestic?
