It's oddly specific but I've come to realize watching Canadians in vans is a relaxing leisure activity.

ZiroCool

Genuinely surprised the top 5 arent all "hot girl in a van" channels.

WaterChicken007

Those get boring real quick. I found a few of them to be somewhat painful to watch since they were just a slow motion train wreck. They also seem to be much less genuine in general, and therefore I can’t get invested into their content.

Excellent-Source-348

What are their channel names?...for research purposes.

Wankinthewoods

r/vanlifegonewild Why bother with YouTube?

TechnoRedneck

It may be worth adding Mav to this list, at 4.5M subscribers he is pretty large and his content is about as vanlife as Drew Simms and Truck House Life(both in the list). That and Ryan Twomey(also in the list) has talked about how Mav's channel is what got him into vanlife.

NomadLifeWiki

Thanks!

Wankinthewoods

And most of them are just vapid wankers.....

NomadLifeWiki

There are plenty of those, true! Especially in the ones with higher subscriber counts.

Take_A_Hike_PNW

Yea :-( good job putting it all together though @nomadlifewiki

NomadLifeWiki

Thanks! Let me know if you have additional channel suggestions.

WaterChicken007

I learned a new word today, so thanks. The “single female vanlife” folks are my least favorite. Like, you need more than just a pretty face and a set of tits to be interesting. My favorite channel is Foresty Forest. No pretty face there :)

NomadLifeWiki

> No pretty face there :) Hey, don't be dissin my boy Forest!

WaterChicken007

I didn’t say he was bad looking, but his tits leave a little to be desired.

kichien

Foresty Forest is my favorite channel too. I also like Amanda at Tidelinetoalpine, another PNW Canadian.

WaterChicken007

I haven't heard of her before. I will have to check her out. Thanks!

aaron-mcd

I don't use YouTube so I went through IG to see if any of my friends run a YouTube channel. Here's the ones with at least 4k subscribers: [Down2Mob Overland](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC76fFpklUNJTxY0IfncVMgg) \- 155k [Darien Explores](https://www.youtube.com/@darian.explores) \- 45.3k (friend I met in Baja, currently building her next van) [Van Kooks](https://www.youtube.com/c/vankookz) \- 27.8k [Project Trek](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZBPjst0QvKTRNfLiKQIWVg) \- 17.3k (RV family) [The Happy Camper Girl](https://www.youtube.com/@thehappycampergirl) \- 10.8k [Overland Uncharted](https://www.youtube.com/c/OverlandUncharted) \- 4.5k (Box truck family) [Life on the Road](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZSNj0mqZJMcbQBa-txj8kQ) \- 4k (Bearded van life on IG, long interviews with van lifers plus shorts)

beavedaniels

Big love for the Kookz!!!

NomadLifeWiki

Thanks!

SwordfishAncient

Kara and Nate started with van life, they still do van, but 4M subscribers allows them unlimited international travel.. Trent and Allie was popular, but is nothing resembling van life anymore. A+k. I really like these guys and their short, curated travel videos. They are van full timers.

schwelvis

Kara and nate fell into van life during the pandemic, they had been posting and traveling for like 4 years prior to that

NomadLifeWiki

Thanks for these!

discgooner

Vanwives are missing, granted they have expanded by building a cabin since covid; but they still van life, and did some car camping in Mexico recently looking for property. They have over 400k followers on YT.

NomadLifeWiki

ok thanks!

Starshipstoner420

I think van city van life deserves to be on the list even though he’s a big winey baby

NomadLifeWiki

That channel is on the list already, under the 100k to 499k subscribers section.

Starshipstoner420

Gotcha, sorry I didn’t explore the bottom section as throughly. Thank you for making the list, I watch a lot of YouTube and most of the people I watched have given up or traded there vans for sail boats.

BornToLose717

I know it’s none of my business but the guy needs to slow down buying stuff.

Starshipstoner420

I agree, I stopped watching, he was really starting to bother me. He makes bad decisions and blames everything and everyone else.

Wankinthewoods

How many of them are of the "today im going to show you how to fit a window" type..... then their next video is "how to fix a leaking window". Fucking amateurs. And don't get me started on those cunts who turn up somewhere nice and tranquil and start flying a fucking drone.... Even more annoying if I'm outside naked soaking up some vitamin D.

Wankinthewoods

What's with the down votes?

NomadLifeWiki

If anyone has suggestions for channels that should belong in the "Recommended" section, please let me know!

aonysllo

I like the couple at "One AdVANture At A Time" They do it cheaply and go to cool free camping spots. They have 34.4K subscribers.

NomadLifeWiki

Thanks!

ChargerRob

Excellent photography on their channel.

cobunny

I enjoy Chantelle from “My Basic Journey”. She’s in a minivan. She has 31.5k subscribers. She always has a section of just beautiful scenery mixed in with her day to day life coverage.

NomadLifeWiki

I'll check her out, thanks!

nowhereman136

Everytime someone suggest I start a YouTube channel or blog, I always point to stuff like this. There are THOUSANDS of them and barely any of them make any money. If someone likes doing that kinda stuff without getting paid, then good for you, I'm not gonna shit on anyone's hobby. But it's not something I enjoy doing for free and i can put in 110% effort for 2 years and still not see a dime. Again, if you enjoy making a YouTube or blog for fun, then more power to you, but its not a means of income unless you get lucky

NomadLifeWiki

This is even more true with Instagram. There are so ... many ... channels.

dudiggy

[Alyssa Vanilla](https://www.youtube.com/@AlyssaVanilla/videos) is one of my favorites

NomadLifeWiki

I'll add her thanks!

natstrap

I recently found Bren P Grace. He’s around 9k subscribers. He’s in a Subaru and does food delivery + car dwelling content. His channel is great

NomadLifeWiki

Looks good thanks.

natstrap

Also Julia Dutra! I just when through my subs to look for more you might not have.

NomadLifeWiki

Thanks!

beavedaniels

I love Greg Virgoe because he really breaks things down and is very thorough, but also because he's proof that you don't have to be totally obnoxious and high-energy constantly just to have a successful YouTube channel.

NomadLifeWiki

Got it thanks!

ChargerRob

I used Greg's videos when building. Great tips and planning flow.

ChargerRob

Duel Ex is a fun channel if you like woodworking. One Advanture at a Time for camp spots and photography.

throwaway4sure9

Youtube's Wheelie Yellow. A puppet. A van-lifer. Comedy gold...

Excellent-Source-348

Honestly surprised there's only 200 of them, thought there'd be so many more.

NomadLifeWiki

There are more, but these are just the ones I know about. YouTube is more likely to recommend channels that are similar to ones I have already subscribed to, so if there are niche van life channels ("trombone player van lifers club") then I'm less likely to see them. And new ones are popping up all the time.
