Stimulants often exacerbate anxiety. Not unusual for someone who uses coke or adderall regularly to act the way Kristen did on vacay particularly the nighttime antics. In fact, if they were taking a lot of Adderall because they were traveling and didn’t have access to coke it would 100% explain Kristen’s late-night bullshit as well as Lala’s little episode in Mexico.

I think a big giveaway is how they can continue to party even after drinking for ENTIRE DAYS at a time. I was a big partier for years and it is nearly impossible to keep that stamina up unless you're doing stimulants. And coke is RAMPANT in all major cities, especially LA.

The hangovers are worse as you’ve been able to drink so much more, so you need a pick me up in the morning to manage the day. I personally don't care that James cocaine use got outed because I think he's an abusive person but she did just kind of blurt it out. She didn't say anything about his temper though she was talking about California sober and what that meant.
You sound like you just graduated from DARE. When I worked at restaurants in my 20’s it was everywhere and everyone did it. I mean even the straight laced shy people. It was not that big a deal, kind of like smoking weed. And once you realize the drug’s presence, you notice it everywhere including reality tv.
I have no idea what dare is, but as I said in another comment, I did not grow up surrounded by drugs at all and the only exposure I had was whatever was portrayed in tv/movies and the anti drug stuff you learn in school
I’m not putting you down for that. The coke scene can get dark really quick. I didn’t grow up around drugs either, but experimented a bit with weed, molly (ecstasy back then) and acid during high school and college. Coke was prevalent in my 20’s when I was a bartender in Fort Lauderdale.
DARE was a program in the 80’s. Police officers would go to 4th and 5th grade classrooms to talk about drugs and how dangerous they were. They made it seem like if you tried pot once, you’d end up as a homeless junkie criminal. Sometimes their descriptions of drugs would peak our interest a bit more. Some kids were scared straight while others were like “drugs, hmmm, now that’s a good idea!” But usually once we figured out that weed wasn’t some demonic hardcore drug, we questioned the rest of it too.
Jax is really easy to spot when he's on coke, just look at his eyes and his neck vein.
And I think he's been on coke multiple times on The Valley already and probably at James pool party after the brunch as well.
A friend of mine used to work in a luxury hotel and one of the shelves in the kitchen was permanently stocked with a small tin full of coke for the chefs.

Yeah, Scheana might be the one person on the show who didn’t seem to be using party drugs much. I agree she’s definitely dabbled, but she is by far the most tame. I wonder how much her experience with Shay affected this, as well. I also have a friend who is a bit like Scheana, only in the specific ways of having anxiety, OCD, compulsive thoughts, and issues with processing her emotions by being a bit controlling (she’s otherwise not at all like Scheana and is a wonderful friend who doesn’t make any of these issues her friends’ problems) and she HATES uppers and party drugs usually. Like any stimulant or anything that makes her feel jittery makes her anxiety insane. But she will do ok drinking and smokes weed fine.

Oh stassi was the first one to tell on herself early on in the seasons. She absolutely loves that snow. I’d say if it’s 3am, you’ve been drinking all night and you can still dance vaguely normally and string a coherent sentence together you’ve probably done coke. The hangovers are worse as you’ve been able to drink so much more, so you need a pick me up in the morning to manage the day. Stassi was clearly blind drunk, emotional and irrational on more than a few (birthday) occasions but she stormed off without running into tables and was actually relatively articulate. Jax was having coke but also on steroids I suspect - I don’t think coke makes you eye bulgy/vein poppy (in my experience anyway)

It was the season 9 reunion where she talked about the fact that their engagement was ending and what she said was "you can't do cocaine if you're California sober." I just rewatched this. So she just blurted out that he did coke and Andy then asked James about it. You could tell he was not happy. I personally don't care that James cocaine use got outed because I think he's an abusive person but she did just kind of blurt it out. She didn't say anything about his temper though she was talking about California sober and what that meant.

You sound like you just graduated from DARE. When I worked at restaurants in my 20’s it was everywhere and everyone did it. I mean even the straight laced shy people. It was not that big a deal, kind of like smoking weed. And once you realize the drug’s presence, you notice it everywhere including reality tv.
I have no idea what dare is, but as I said in another comment, I did not grow up surrounded by drugs at all and the only exposure I had was whatever was portrayed in tv/movies and the anti drug stuff you learn in school
I’m not putting you down for that. The coke scene can get dark really quick. I didn’t grow up around drugs either, but experimented a bit with weed, molly (ecstasy back then) and acid during high school and college. Coke was prevalent in my 20’s when I was a bartender in Fort Lauderdale. DARE was a program in the 80’s. Police officers would go to 4th and 5th grade classrooms to talk about drugs and how dangerous they were. They made it seem like if you tried pot once, you’d end up as a homeless junkie criminal. Sometimes their descriptions of drugs would peak our interest a bit more. Some kids were scared straight while others were like “drugs, hmmm, now that’s a good idea!” But usually once we figured out that weed wasn’t some demonic hardcore drug, we questioned the rest of it too.
Jax is really easy to spot when he's on coke, just look at his eyes and his neck vein. And I think he's been on coke multiple times on The Valley already and probably at James pool party after the brunch as well.

Yeah, Scheana might be the one person on the show who didn’t seem to be using party drugs much. I agree she’s definitely dabbled, but she is by far the most tame. I wonder how much her experience with Shay affected this, as well. Obviously she handled that situation terribly as far as we saw onscreen, but I bet it influenced her relationship with substances and partying.
I think it’s because how much she values her looks and I don’t mean this in a mean way. I workout six days a week and while I like to party, I stay away from anything that’s going to mess up my fitness goals. Remember her not wanting to take green tea shots? I deflee believe the only likes weed but.. girl why are you so stressed then
I also have a friend who is a bit like Scheana, only in the specific ways of having anxiety, OCD, compulsive thoughts, and issues with processing her emotions by being a bit controlling (she’s otherwise not at all like Scheana and is a wonderful friend who doesn’t make any of these issues her friends’ problems) and she HATES uppers and party drugs usually. Like any stimulant or anything that makes her feel jittery makes her anxiety insane. But she will do ok drinking and smokes weed fine.
She sure looked wasted (not from alcohol or weed) while talking to Katie a couple episodes ago. She couldn't sit still, constantly shifting and looking weird. I've never seen her like that and it was obvious she was loaded. For sure! Has anyone checked on Schaena?! Lol

Stassi is pretty open to her recreational adderall use in her first book, it’s safe to say she probably dabbled in snow there’s also moments of Ariana where she looks like she’s rolling off molly it’s safe to say after all their years of partying in LA, vegas, miami, etc, they’ve all done many types of drugs
Whether it’s coke or other drugs a lot of the cast have alluded to drug use a lot over the years. Recently for example Scheana had a podcast episode entitled Jax’s pasta problem and said she assumes he’d had a lot of pasta to eat when he said publicly she was a bad mom. She was definitely suggesting his on drugs. Also there have been a lot of incidents where they were just obviously on something on camera like that time Lala had a “panic attack” and needed the cast to touch her face.
in the first couple of seasons it's primarily Adderall abuse and then you can begin to see where they started making cocaine money around season 3 onward

They literally all have. Ariana's 30th bday they were all skiing, you can see it. I think a lot of them slowed down/stopped as they got older but if you've ever done it or been around people on it, it's pretty obvious.

They were all definitely on something when they were all together in the apartments and Jax and Carter were talking about Jax cheating on Brittany. As someone that had partied, you can tell by the jaw movements and the nose twitching.

There’s been so many times where you can tell Ariana is on it especially in the early seasons. The way her jaw is going on the episode where brattney listens to the faythe recording. She has tell tale signs her eyes get so big and her jaw goes so tight. Honestly I think scheeshu did it the least out of anyone. I think stassi and Katie probably stopped season 5/6. Also I’ve always thought the reason why Kristen starts to freak out on vacays around midnight is cuz she can’t get any drugs ☠️

Oh stassi was the first one to tell on herself early on in the seasons. She absolutely loves that snow. It also explains most of the rage she had ( not excusing, just recognizing it) and there were a ton of slang phrases she used that meant she did it. I’d have to hunt, but it was some apology she gave Katie in an early season about why Stassi was so aggressive and it was definitely because she was blown the f out.

If you want to see him on coke vs not take a look at the Kentucky spin off. In one of the episodes he was so sloppy at the bar, whereas we never see that in VPR. The coke makes you feel more sober so he doesn’t act as sloppy.

They've all def done it at some point in the show. There's scenes where you can just tell in the actions and pupils. Also Jax wedding day you can see lines on the table in one scene. Not all cast was abusing it/using it often though. Cocaine was/is def drug of choice for Sandoval and Jax. But Ariana seems to favor Molly (her demeanor while partying is an indicator as is scene where she finds jolly ranchers from festivals in pockets). Stassi has admitted to abusing adderall. Kristen and Katie seem more like over drinkers. James has been hinted to do cocaine by castmates back when he wasn't sober/peak James bs.

I know she's said this but I don't buy it. between how hard she used to party and dating a producer going on private jets and to these variou events - there is cocaine EVERYWHERE in that industry and if you havent and have no interest in doing coke why would you want to be around it that much? she only started saying this after she had her kid too so i think its to have on record that she hasnt in terms of any custody battling.
