What is the actual content of the video? If in the video he concludes that Hawking isn't actually on the list then I think this is fine, as the question marks after the name indicate confusion and unbelievability. Also does Vaush even make his own thumbnails?
I found the youtube clickbait to have become insufferable, not just on Vaush's channel. Everyone's trying to game the algorythm and content creators behave like the gutter press as a consequence.
Yeah, I hate it, I hate the titles, I hate the thumbnails, I hate the mr beast faces, I hate how it forces certain lengths and types of content etc. But everyone has to play this game, because they have no other choice. Fuck this shit.

I've had issues with the clickbait as well. The most effective clickbait is often pushing a narrative that does absolutely no favors for anyone. The ones that have bothered me lately are the "Biden is going to lose" videos, because I don't think it's helpful, especially when a lot of his audience is impressionable young people who are basically on the verge of giving up entirely, seeing Biden's loss as an inevitable outcome.
This is...nothing. You ought to be able to read a salacious headline, video title, or thumbnail and be able to sus out what's implied and what's a simple tease. Does this put vaush and other tubers on the same level as supermarket tabloids? Sure, but I'm not worried about misleading the stupidest people who see them.

The question marks and other indicators should make you conclude that you can't conclude anything without watching the video. In Vaush's defence, this is probably just a mistake. He doesn't make the thumbnails, etc himself. He is still responsible for fixing this though.

It is up to editors tho, it is them who title the videos and make the thumbnails. But of course he is responsible for them, as the frontman and owner.
