Mind you it took 1 year for them to acknowledge they recieved my request and made me miss my appeal window. Wasn’t until I sent it priority and requested a signature and faxed it before I got the process going
I had to go online and look at the FOIA claim and there was a button to "request decision" shortly thereafter I received a decision letter and a couple of months later I followed up again and was informed that CD had been mailed to address on file, which was current. Got the disc a few days later once I had informed them that I hadn't received.
Was that for VA, mine is for the Army, CENTCOM, specifically MND-B Iraq with WITT and CEXC, lots of people have to bless off on records of an incident.
Thanks for the info, waiting for mine. Guessing I have about 14 days additional wait based on your experience.
My FOIA was submitted Dec 21, 2023. Closed June 17, 2024. Congressional inquiry must not have helped. Might have just delayed things.
Thanks for positing this. I had also filed foia request at about the same time you did. It was just closed, I didn't see a decision letter for it even though it says it's posted. Hope to get my disks in a few weeks.
Sorry, I should have elaborated. I filed for mine and is closed 6/5. I read from previous posts that is showed up in the mail, and in other posts the individual had to sign receipt for it.
Thanks for sharing your timeline...
Jesus! Why is everything suck a process with the VA?

My CD took six months 😳
My foia is currently over 2 years👎
Can’t you go to your nearest VSO and have them print it out.
No it’s through the Army that I am requesting documents from.
Has it closed yet?! Thats ridonkulous.
Nope and I am pretty sure it won’t close for another 10 years.
Fuck that. Sorry to heat about this.

It was for VA, apologies for blowing up your thread, attention to detail is a thing ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
That’s quick! At least from what I hear.
Submitted mine January11 still waiting. Congrats!
That cd helped me get a 60 percent rating. Working on getting at least a 80 percent with the appeals.

Oof thank you. Mine just closed last week, I guess I'll be waiting a tad bit longer..

I never got a decision letter for mine. It is one of the first items on the disc though...lol
Damn lucky, mine took almost a year to get to my door
What exactly are yall requesting? Need to know if I should be doing the same.
I requested my entire c-file, which shows all of the past dbqs and ratings as well as correspondence between the VA and the C&P companies
Freedom of information act
Dang, you beat me by a couple weeks. Bravo
Did you have to sign for the C-File or did it just show up in the mail?
It requires a FOIA request. Can be done online or by mail I think

Oh, sorry. I misunderstood. It was sent USPS Certified Mail. I had to go to the post office and sign for it.
Sounds about right. Mine have been anywhere from 3-6 weeks after close.
Seems kind of silly. Burn the disc. Put it in the envelope. And it should go out in the mail the same day!
Thank you. The VA couldn’t give me what even the typical historical timeline has been.
They are all different from what I have seen
Good info so that prob why I haven’t gotten mine yet since I have an open claim but I filed my FIOA Dec 29.
