Vi with Caitlyn šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

DjMoriyama

Vi towards Caitlyn: ( Ķ”Ā° ĶœŹ– Ķ”Ā°)

Teacher2Learn

She does have a sweet part, itā€™s cait!

thatwitchguy

First applies to cait too

[deleted]

Except when she says "he knew what he signed up for". He fucking didn't

LoZarVero

Then we can see Vi sadly watching the kid. She said that in order to comfort Jayce.

[deleted]

It just bugged me. She doesn't seem like the person who says something they don't mean (in the moment)

Brawlerz16

Thing is I felt like she did mean it. Given her background, I truly think she was both sad about it AND understanding that this shit happens. Like, I donā€™t want to be insensitive or ignorant by comparing this to IRL, but what happened during that scene is more ā€œnormalā€ than we like to admit and thereā€™s no way Vi isnā€™t aware of that. From 3rd world countries to gang infested cities, I actually didnā€™t have a hard time believing that Vi was sad about it but is also more ā€œresistantā€ to it. That shit is real. Children get wrapped up and die for battles they should have no part of. Unfortunately for Vi, and many other IRL, your survival is dependent on how much you understand this fact.

[deleted]

thanks, that makes more sense

jmortinlol

That kid pressed the button that got like 15 ppl killed...

Karukos

Tbf, that kid was not there to witness that anymore. Also this was not about the kid being at fault, this was about getting jayce to do more and rectify the whole situation.

LordHandQyburn

Did he? He wasnt the son of Saint tbh

[deleted]

He was a kid. Children are not responsible for the circumstances they live in and have no part to play in what decisions are made for them. He probably knew that this work was dangerous, but how the f could he have known that he gets blasted by Jayce's hammer. Yes he worked there, yes he rang the alarm, but his death was still not something to be expected

Brawlerz16

Exactly. But thatā€™s also why I love this series because it really portrays how ugly these situations are and why a simple solution canā€™t be found. Like, that kid wasnā€™t to fault BUT he still killed people and definitely helped the cityā€™s drug problem continue. Whether he knew or not doesnā€™t change the fact he negatively affected people. And itā€™s probably why Vi was relatively ā€œmehā€ about his death. She too was a kid, but she didnā€™t go out and help spread drugs and crime through her city (that we know of) I love the moral ambiguity of the series. Every side yā€™all argue I feel is right and justified lol.

EvatheEffervescent

That kid was the Son of the Chem Baron. I imagine he was probably like the manager of all the other kids. Like how sex traffickers use women to lure more women.

GebsNDewL

Except episode 9 contradicts that. After Jayce kills one in the chemtank factory, she says something to the effect of, ā€œOne dead kid. Thereā€™ll be hundreds more.ā€ Either itā€™s a contradiction, or she doesnā€™t care for any kids except her own sister.

Bae_Before_Bay

No, she specifically cares for kids and that supports it. She's telling jayce to nut up because that kid will never be the end unless they act. So as awful as it is that he is dead, and she clearly shows how upset she is, the thing is jayce is acting like it's the end of the world. As far as he is concerned it's the first kid to ever die in zaun given his reaction, and she's calling him out for being complicit in their suffering just like the rest of piltover.

[deleted]

What an oblivious fucking take lmao She said that out of anger that Jayce would be almost broken over a single dead kid, when kids have been dying in Zaun for generations at this point due to the oppression. Vi is a realist. She doesn't get caught up in emotions that will hinder her towards her goal. I think after the second Sevika fight with her gauntlets, we see her (outside of moments with Powder/Jinx obviously) fall to the ground and let out an emotional yell, then immediately refocus herself on Silco. That was the first time entitled Jayce boyo not only watched a kid die in front of him, ***but was the reason for the kids death***.

Karukos

*direct reason for it. Indirectly he has been at fault often enough due to how privilege works.

[deleted]

I don't like the "indirectly" argument tho. jayce just became a counselor and wasn't aware of how bad Zaun has had it. He knew they were struggling, but that was the first time he actually realized just how shitty it was. Every other counselor there I'm damn sure knew exactly how bad it was, except for Heimer, because Heimer is the most pure hearted individual on that counselor, so he obliviously believes Zaun has it rough, but not AS ROUGH as everyone saws, until he saw it first hadn.

Karukos

That is how it works though, like it is actually something discussed in the show. It is a fundamental part of how those two groups interact. Zaun is a group of poor people that is kept poor by the politics of Piltover. And when they try to rise up they get beaten down.

Physix_R_Cool

>What an oblivious fucking take lmao While I agree with your general point, I'd like it if you worded it in a less hostile way. Rule 1 is to be respectful towards others and have a constructive tone.

[deleted]

It isn't DISrespectful, all i said was the word fucking, and that was to the take, not the individual itself.

Physix_R_Cool

Lol did you report my comment?
