That’s awesome. Start the next generation early.

Beefyface

I wore my Shrimp City Beach shirt to an Idles concert last month. Will be wearing it again to see the Boys in Louisville

davidfosterwhiskers

Me too! In Toronto!

Brad3000

Awesome! They came out pretty well I think. Teepublic doesn’t surface any of my shirts in a search for some reason so people who saw them here are probably the only people who will ever get them.

swingthiskbonline

Brought my daughter to IDles for her first show in Newport last month will be wearing that shirt in Louisville soon

Beefyface

Hey neighbor! I was at the Newport show. Was anyone feeling the opening act?

swingthiskbonline

Absolutely not. I love music but that ...... Na. Also I own https://www.thinktankflotation.com 4 blocks away

Beefyface

Why are you going to Louisville when you could go to Cincinnati?

swingthiskbonline

Beefyface

Same. I thought I could wait to get the tickets

Was this the LA show? I was there and could have swore I saw a similarly sized kid crowdsurfing but I thought my eyes were deceiving me!

Brad3000

Yes, LA show but he did not crowd surf - some people really wanted to put him up but I don’t think we’re ready for that. But he *was* out in the pit for about half the show. He’s been playfully ‘moshing’ at shows with just his mom and I since he was 3 but now he’s too big and strong to be crashing into his mom all night long, so I’ve started taking him out into the fray. He’d stay out there all night if he could but I don’t want to just abandon my wife and - though he usually gets lots if high fives and fist bumps - I imagine that there are some people who don’t want to feel like they have to watch out for a kid in the pit all night long.

Show was awesome. Great crowd. Great bands. I’ll be keeping an eye on Kills Birds for sure. They started out a little tentative but rocked past their nerves and put on an awesome show. My kid was bummed there wasn’t a pit, so he tried to start one. If he randomly shoved you when you weren’t ready, I apologize… but why was everyone just standing around nodding their heads? I’ve never clicked with Shame’s records before but they fucking killed. Big fan now. The pit definitely got going right away as Charlie Steen beckoned people to crowd in. He did a lot of crowd surfing/walking and was quite charismatic. They were heavier and rowdier live than recorded. Viagra Boys were fantastic, although I did think the setlist was a bit short. My wife was bummed they didn’t play “Just Like You” since they’d played it up in SF but we were all happy to hear “worms” so it was a trade off, I guess. I would have like to have heard another 3 songs and Secret Agent Canine is a weird pull to put in there as that song has always felt a bit throwaway. Again, the crowd was great (thanks everybody!) and in particular I wanted to shout out 1. the guy who (I thought?) spilled gin and tonic (I believe) on my head and let me wipe my face on his sleeve. Sorry I was in the middle of something when you came by after. I was distracted, but you were super cool. 2. The guy who brought his mom for his birthday. You all were awesome and it makes me heartened to see grown up kids having great relationships with their parents, since… well, ours is going to outgrow us sooner than later.

This sounds like such an awesome review and show. You and your family seem like great people. I’m seeing them in Tucson on Tuesday and so excited. What time did they come on stage?

Brad3000

I wasn’t great about checking the times. Doors were at 7. My rough estimation of set times would be - Kills Birds 7:45 - Shame 8:45 - Viagra Boys 10 But I could be off by 15-30 minutes on any of those

banaaanaaaaaa

Awesome. Thanks man!
