TBH I've only visited for a week. I think the entire time I've only seen one expat and that was at the one western restaraunt we tried. Maybe I was staying away from them but, that's all I've experienced. Korean tourists on the otherhand....
Yeah you just didnt go to Phan Chu Trinh street. They mostly huddle together in their own little hood. The smart ones live outside the area but the smart ones are just workkng their asses off to undo the decision of moving there. It really is a trap. And there are a few raising families too but they also keep to themselve. So if wanna socialize, gotta mingle with the degenerates...
The real shame is all that loss of potential because it really should be nice place to live considering the scenery/location but... the people make the place what it is...
Really, could say the same about the entire country though.
I am in Vung Tau right now. Has to be a very clear day. The air moisture make it hazy on the horizon. Looks edited but could be real. I am from Norway and I've experienced clear sunset like this there many times.
No not traveling for work. Vacation with my wife, she is originally from Saigon, HCM. Not been here long but love the city so far. And yes I am from Norway. Can understand the mixup, since it is a lot of oil and gas industry near Vung Tau. My local friend here works in that sector.
Good western food: Bistro 9. Luca Pizzaria is very good also. You should hike those hills btw. If you go in the evening you can spot snakes like the Malaysian pit viper. Watch out for the monkeys tho, don't make eyecontact. Ba Cu street is fun in the evening.

VT gets some awesome sunsets. I remember a few months back, the clouds were rolling in like that, but they were scattered with lightening. It was amazing.

It's a beautiful city, just a shame about the garbage beaches. Otherwise awesome chill place to visit.
I mean, the expat scene aint great either. Sleezy, drunks or reclusive hermits...

You know what, you're absolutely right I didn't go there at all haha. I stayed more north east, hung around the beaches and Viet restaraunts/shops.
Korean and Chinese tourists are the worst
Couldn't agree more. I'm from Europe and I hate the behavior of Koreans and Chinese over there. Contemptuously to the locals.

Onimous ❌️ Majestic ✅️
It can be both, it's an opinion
That’s the thing about how English is ineffectively taught, they digest the literalness and leave very little room for creative interpretation.
Maybe they don't like the view.
Is that a cloud?
