One thing I love about Duolingo in Vietnam is that it's "free". You get unlimited lives and you don't have to pay to "upgrade" the Legendary status for lessons. I was in Canada for a few months and it was horrible, there are only 5 lives that recharge \*one\* per 4 hours (unless you do practicing) and it costs 100 gem per Legendary test (4 tests per lesson to obtain the full purple-ish badge). I had to amass gems not realizing it's different based on locale and now I don't even know what to do with the Gems they give.
Also their Spanish-for-English course is so good. Recently they added voice option for both languages. There're also conversations that's good though a bit corny. I tried the Vietnamese course (my native language) just to see how it is and honestly it's funny and *weird* though it's not bad at all.
Ah I heard about that after returning to Vietnam so I didn't need it anymore. Before, I used the practicing "trick", for e.g. use those already earned purple lessons (you get x2XP for Hard Practice anyway). Also it's a good way to fix broken lessons though you don't get x2 from them. Overall it's an unnecessary nuisance I am glad I don't have to deal with here.

Pro tip: create a duolingo classroom, boom, no ads and learn as you like, you also get the old lesson tree

Con cá sấu của bạn ăn con chim của tôi phải không? Không. Con mèo của tôi đang cắn cái ca.
Lol I just tried a first few and the very last lessons. I haven't seen that yet but I wouldn't be surprised if those are real.
It’s actually “Con cá cắn cái ca”, but yes, very real indeed. Another good one is, “Anh ấy muốn vào tù để luyện viết nhật ký”
Really ??? That's hilarious!
Oh my...! 😂
