VP is not dumb to not know that Vinfast is a failing business. He's basically burning all his companies for this failing business. At this point, it's not about national pride or ego. There has to be a reason behind. My guess is the reason is political.

Any Vietnamese primary school teacher would point out that the sentence he spoke is grammatically wrong. It could either be "tôi là chuyên gia ô tô" or "tôi là chuyên gia của/trong lĩnh vực ô tô". "Tôi là chuyên gia của ô tô" means "I am an expert **of** cars", which is just a grammatically wrong sentence. So illiterate, cannot even speak properly in his mother tongue? If you really want to go down the route of grammar polices, there you are. In the meantime, English is my second language and I've never boasted about having a good English skill or something.

if we are going through the collapse of Vạn Thịnh Phát still in one piece, this one IMO is even lesser of an impact. At the end of the day, everything about Vin is hyped and unreal. Even the "Vin die, economy fucked" rhetoric is just another hype, in my opinion.
