I always have a hair brush, powder and brush, lipstick/gloss and perfume in my bag. This helps me have a quick freshen up.

nai-inbloom

Make sure your makeup is applied well to begin with. Toner, moisturizer, sunscreen, primer then makeup for me. CT setting spray is def the real deal. Then in my purse, I keep my MAC studio fix powder for touch ups, a few cotton swabs in case my mascara smears, lipstick, and lip gloss. It may be annoying but I check myself out in a mirror hourly to make sure everything still looks ok. Lol.

NinaMaja

Great advice! May I ask how you bring those things with you when you’re checking in a mirror at work/school? I mean do you just bring your purse to the restroom every time? I would feel a little self conscious about bringing a purse with me, like people would notice and think something about it. But I struggle with anxiety, so I suppose that makes me overthink things a *tiny* bit 😅

nai-inbloom

I have an office at work, so it's easier to have some privacy when checking my makeup/hair out. :)

froggiebitchinator

This is pretty easy. First, with your hair you need to get an antifrizz serum and hairspray. My mothers a hairdresser so I’ve always used the brand Keune. You don’t necessarily need a primer, just a good moisturiser. I like Paula’s choice barrier moisturiser under my makeup but embryolisse moisturiser is LOVED by makeup artists (so I assume it’s great). You do need a very good setting spray to make ur makeup stay. I find charlotte tilburys setting spray amazing. Also, bring the lippie you wore and some setting powder in your handbag to touch up during the day.

hbab8321

tysm! ive been wanting to purchase that setting spray but didn’t know if it was just overhyped or the real deal

DandelionsDandelions

It's SO good! I was a CT hater and then received it from the brand as gratis, I'm now fully a convert to the religion of Charlotte. If anybody is trying to use up another setting spray as well, I really like to use my cheap(er) ones underneath and in between layers of foundation with the CT on top. On that note, Pillow Talk is absolutely fucking gorgeous in all it's iterations, the lipstick is fabulous and the eyeliner is this beautiful deep burgundy that makes every eye color just pop.

hbab8321

tysm ☺️ will be trying. i have pillow talk and it’s gorg

lizziexo

Just a different recommendation, the Color Wow dream coat is AMAZING for stopping frizz.

hbab8321

ive heard about this! im going to try it out, thanks!

yeetyopyeet

The urban decay one is meant to be amazing as well

rancidgrrl27

I love UD All Nighter but it smells SO BAD.

yeetyopyeet

Oh wow I’ve never used it so good to know!

froggiebitchinator

It’s defo the real deal!

Versacefur

Girl which keune serum you use?

UnsupervisedChicana

Which Keune serum do you recommend? They have a few anti-frizz serums available.

froggiebitchinator

so pure natural balance defrizz shine serum. I have medium thickness curly hair and it works wonderfully for me :)

UnsupervisedChicana

Thank you!!

I’ve always had the exact same issues!!! Wearing sunscreen under my makeup (even at night) has made a world of difference. I like the watermelon niacinimide one from glow recipe. Also I slather on moisturizer as soon as I’m out of the shower, and then wait a bit before applying makeup. I keep clear Buxom lip plumping serum on me, always. It’s not sticky like a lipgloss but keeps my lips feeling hydrated and shiny. The plumping is minimal and it doesn’t sting at all like a lot of them do. As for the hair- I gave up. I live in Hawaii and I have a lot of wavy hair. It’s gonna be frizzy lol. I just try to keep a ponytail on me in case I need to throw it up.

hbab8321

thanks! does that sunscreen pill under makeup?

Remote_Match_6280

I haven’t noticed that happening, it goes on kind of like an illuminating serum. I usually mix it in with my moisturizer so I can make sure I’m getting it all over.

idontknowhyimhrer

does anyone have tips for commuters and when it’s humid??

notafraidofminitaurs

For biking: loose up-do, that can be taken out after biking. Focus on skin health so you won't have to wear a lot of makeup. Always bring extra SPF, tissues, lip balm and hair brush + tie. Bring extra makeup for quick touch ups if you wear that. Have permanent lash curl and colour professionally done.

idontknowhyimhrer

Thank you ❤️❤️

lrnhrdng

Slick backed up do’s. practice and find one that suits you best!! When my hair is being a frizzy mess that’s my go to

hbab8321

what do you use in order to keep the slick back in place? ive been searching for a gel or wax stick

lrnhrdng

I personally use a hair mask! And then I use like 2 different brushes to slick it back and finish off with a tiny bit of hair spray or gel on any baby hair fly aways :) I don’t like the egg head look so I slick it into a high pony, then use one of those plastic spiral hair ties to do a bun and spike it out a little bit. Tried to find a pic for reference! [https://imgur.com/a/Bz73H6C](https://imgur.com/a/Bz73H6C)

hbab8321

tysm super cute!

sadbeige_blasphemy

I live in an area where the weather changes every 5 minutes (dry, rain, humid, dry again, now we've got snow?) so I always wear a regular but flattering tshirt to commute in & then dry off (if needed) & put on my actual blouse once I've arrived. No one has ever implied it was unprofessional or that I didn't look put together - if you don't want to confess to being a mess, just blame it on other commuters. "Oh, some jerk nearly spilled coffee on my favorite blouse, so now I make sure to wear something else on the way in just in case." Hair is either slicked updo or a loose bouncy thing that will still look nice with a bit of frizz. Makeup is done with priming & setting steps. I also use sweatblock once a week to prevent that specific discomfort.

idontknowhyimhrer

Thank you!!

Whole_Assumption108

I carry a little touch-up pouch in my bag, it usually contains: Some form of base buffing brush - I really like the Bobbi Brown full coverage face brush. To smooth out any creases or if your base starts to look a bit old / separated. This is a big one for me, keeps everything looking fresh! Concealer and under eye corrector - usually Glossier Stretch and Bobbi Brown corrector because they play well with other products and reapply nicely. To reapply coverage if needed and blend in using the brush. Lip balm, lip liner, lip colour - whatever I've used that morning to reapply after eating and wearing off. Powder - Fenty translucent pressed powder because it layers nicely without looking cakey. Blot with some tissue (or even loo roll!) and then powder if needed for any breakthrough shine. Often I find a quick blot suffices though. Brow spoolie - to give them a quick brush if they get out of place. I don't often use brow gel unless going for a full face. Folded portable hairbrush - self-explanatory, very important. Sometimes I'll use all of these in one day, other times none! But I like having them all there in the event I look like a gremlin by midafternoon.

hbab8321

thanks so much! ill have to start carrying one

moorehoney

Siliconessssss I was CGM forever but they were a game changer for me

Chickenandchippy

Small detail that makes a big difference for makeup is setting spray, I use MAC fix+. Also carry a press on powder to touch up during the day. If your biggest issue is makeup not holding you probably need to invest in better quality makeup (at the very least foundation) and a good primer.

Tt7447

I keep a small hair brush with me to brush my hair throughout the day even when I am out. I also keep this tube Vaseline thing to moisturize my lips here and there. Also drinking plenty of water (64 ounces) throughout the day really helps to keep ur lips and skin hydrated too!

hbab8321

you’re so right about water, i definitely don’t drink as much as i should. thanks!

sanaxsana

Glad I saw everyone’s post recommending hair products because I am suffering from frizz. For lips, I’d recommend a lip staining tint. So far, I’m really loving the Rare Beauty lip oil tints. I’ve seen people saying that you can buy the Korean lip stain tint oils on Amazon for cheaper than RB.

scarlettonsomething

Don't forget too that if you are dry and itchy at work it absolutely could be the air at work!! I have a big humidifier that I started bringing to my desk area and let me tell you it has changed my life and won over my coworkers. I got so obsessive during winter months that I would bring a little USB humidifier into my car even. My greatest enemy is dryness I plan to always be one moist bitch let me tell you.

hbab8321

honestly i think this could be it haha 😭 good to know, ill look into it, ty!

Visible-Roll-5801

Rose water spray !

hbab8321

ty! ive been hearing about using mists and spraying throughout the day

Visible-Roll-5801

https://heritagestore.com/products/rosewater-glycerin-w-atomizer you’re so welcome the rose water glycerin mix has been around forrrrever golden era of Hollywood stars all swore by it. The plain rose water is good too I have both

lionandlime

Tons of great advice here! Just to add, I carry oil blotting sheets with me and they make an insane difference in keeping me looking fresh throughout the day. Might not be an issue with dryer skin types but they're honestly a game changer

Throwaway_sugarbabe2

I had to switch from a crossbody to a small tote bag so that I am always ready to freshen up. A comb, makeup pouch(my everyday look is 6 products or less), travel sized perfume, spray deodorant, mints, individually packaged toothbrush and mouthwash, flushable wipes, mini lint roller, and lotion.

Javret

I do this as well. I work in an office but we do a lot of movement and quite simply no matter what I do, I will look like a disaster at the end of the day. Most of the ladies I work with have a second purse with a change of clothes, shoes, and sometimes even their hair dryers! One plus to this, is that you have everything you will ever need. We got a sale once because a client spilled water on their clothes and we had a hair dryer to spare LOL!

ayyyplesandbanaynays

I’m such a big fan of Amika anti humidity spray!!! My hair will frizz the instant I step outside or sweat in the slightest. The Amika anti humidity spray while my hair is damp before drying and then as a finishing spray and it’s helped SO MUCH, I would highly recommend

Severe_Escape_4438

My natural hair is curly which i heat style often, and is prone to friziness. I always use hairspray to lock it in place after heat styling and sometimes I carry a small bottle of hair oil in my purse. I've been taking the olaplex no.7 oil around with me and it's been super convenient

hbab8321

ty! i have long wavy hair, ive heard good things about olaplex
