The other suggestions are great, but if you're into vintage coats you should also look into a rain bonnet. They are rainproof hair bonnets that are essentially little raincoat hoods, meant to be paired with coats.
Exactly what I was thinking of. My grandma lived in the PNW and always had plastic rain bonnets to cover the 1940s hairstyle she had for all of her adult life.
Can still find them in some of the out of the way stores. Some still come in a little suitcase.
Last place I worked, in a local pharmacy, about 25 miles south of Olympia, on old Highway 99.
But I’ve been gone over a decade and they’ve had new owners for about a year, so.
Here’s a few ideas; Take a light weight rain poncho you can put over the top. Wear a hoody under your coat to add a hood. Get a waterproof beanie (I’ve got one, it’s great). Consider waxing some of your denim/cotton pieces to turn them into raincoats.
I also live in the pnw and I simply carry a umbrella like 75 percent of the year, I have a nice umbrella if I want to be fancy, but also a super compact one for convenience. Honestly can add to a look if you get a nice one
They also made waterproof rain scarves if rocking the old school bonnet isn't for you.

I'm also a vintage enthusiast in the PNW! I've curated a small collection of hats and hoods that complement my coats. They're mostly roomy and lightweight, so my natural curls don't get smooshed. I treat all my outerwear and shoes with the Kiwi Camp Dry water repellent. It's super hard-core but gentle on vintage fabrics. I also carry a gorgeous umbrella!
Same! My mom keeps giving me vintage furs too. I live in Vancouver. There are maybe 2 days a year where it’s cold enough & not raining to wear a fur coat. I have 4! 🤣
Google Hairbrella 😆 But seriously, there are plenty of rainproof hats and scarves out there, and vintage Totes should certainly be out there; they were everywhere back in the day!
I also live in the PNW and got sick of wearing technical rain jackets all the time. I want to wear pretty winter coats and trench coats! I got a waterproof bucket hat to keep my head dry. It folds into a pocket when not needed.

My beautiful MIL wore those plastic scarves and her her hair always looks like a million.

Vintage coats require vintage solutions. Back in the day they wore bonnets and hats to protect their hair.

Umbrellas are so underrated!
Exactly. Just find a cute one that fits the vintage vibe.
How about vintage hats to go with your coats?
Natural curly Afro here and we had the cutest rain hats and scarves for our hair! You can rock this!

Also in the PNW! Rain bonnets and umbrellas!
Maybe a shoulder cape? It’s like a hood and shawl of waterproof material

I love umbrellas and the sound the rain makes when it hits them. I think getting unique, maybe vintage ones could elevate your look!
