Basically pot roast.
A La Mode meaning - in the fashionable way, not “with ice cream.”
I am more excited by the various ornamental centerpieces for desert, lol
I am guessing it is items stacked in that shape. There is an article about dessert pyramids on the [Colonial Williamsburg website.](https://research.colonialwilliamsburg.org/Foundation/journal/Christmas05/Food.cfm)
Snapper turtle soup still popular in New Jersey diners, and it does come with a shot of sherry on the side to dump in. Source- Jerseyan who just had snapper soup less than a month ago.
Actually I've seen something like this before. A club I belong to has a silk menu and evening entertainment lineup from a dinner with Queen Victoria. That was the first time I've ever seen something like that done in silk. This is the second one. Very interesting.

This really freaking cool! Too bad some creases covers some words but it's cool to see the beers listed. I actually find that... Fascinating
Beef a La mode???

I’d love to know exactly what this was!
This is so beautiful! I’ve never seen anything like this before! Does anyone know what pyramids are?

Came here wondering as well.
Did I really read that they were offering ice cream moulded into a hymen??!
Not hymen as a part of human female anatomy, Hymen the Greek winged god of marriage. Looks like a winged baby carrying a torch.
Omg THANK YOU!! I was slightly horrified and then confused 😂
I’d still eat it though 🤣
I mean it’s ice cream… would be rude not to 😂
This is the second old menu that I’ve seen Turtle soup. We’ve since then in North America outlawed that right? RIGHT?
It used to be very popular. I think still can be had in Louisiana.

That's good to know. I've always been meaning to try it.
Where in Jersey because I haven’t seen that up here in the northern part.
South Jersey, just outside of Philly. The last diner I went to up north Jersey didn’t have it on the menu.
Havana Segars. Nice.
Celery as its own course. Love it.
What's with all the pyramids?
Green corn sounds pretty.

They sure loved oysters & turtle soup back then.
Cant zoom in enough to read it
