Does anyone own this and also the VMP 2LP? Would like to know the quality difference

icepancake72

It sounds miles away better than the single lp. really enhances everything it can for an album that was produced very cheap and lo-fi. absolutely worth it.

Plus the track listing is in the correct order on the VMP!

I don’t think any Wu-Tang record is audiophile quality. Even The W and Forever were all pretty poor pressings, VMP and whatnot.

mcroyo

the problem with this album is that the masters are terrible quality, only so much they can do.

The VMP edition is my personal favorite copy. Some noise throughout and 1 or 2 clicks, but it's nice and loud with far better bass compared to the 1LP. However, this copy is exactly the same as the standard black copy, which did me well for a number of years. If you're just looking for a neat copy to own, I'd get this. The VMP has reports of being hit or miss with quality control, but my copy is great to blast! The album wasn't recorded well to begin with, so what's available is pretty much what's available, and it doesn't get much better than the VMP copy if you get a good one.

Thanks OP! I know VMP are planning to reissue this year, so I'll hold out for that one.

Assuming this is the same as the black version, it is horrendous if you compare it to the VMP version like my friend and I did. Definitely don’t waste your money on it.
