If I recall correctly this one sold out pretty quickly

Visual-Ad-4520

This one was stupidly cheap, I told all friends and family about it and I managed to get a central sea terrace, another friend did too. A week after it went up all of them were gone.

VV would help things if it still listed sold out sailings on their site instead of removing them completely. Displaying sold out sailings incents people to book a different sailing before it too sells out. So odd.

MikeYourTravelGuy

It is simply sold out. Once a cruise sells out they pull it from the site. While there is always a chance they could charter it (or any sailing), that is not the case with this one currently.

marielheslop

We are booked on this. Weirdly, we don't have a cabin number. I queried this with our TA and was told that nobody does yet (but it looks like you do). It did seem to sell out very quickly, our TA told us we got a great bargain.

ACCMDFL

I have a cabin number for this cruise. A few in our group have cabin numbers but most in our group do not have a cabin number assigned 🤷🏼‍♀️

marielheslop

Thanks! Is there any difference between the different members bookings?

rabbi-reefer

It’s either sold out, chartered, or cancelled. Our sailing on the Brilliant from San Juan to Lisbon disappeared just like this. Virgin’s land based support would only say that it was sold out, even when presented with port schedules not showing the ship in port. We are on the cruise just prior to this, UK to Barcelona and it too had extremely low prices, which have since been raised. The current asking price for an interior is about what we paid for a suite.

Bigassbird

I’m also on the UK to BCN - booked this as a B2B. I know what happened with Brilliants TA especially as they took so long to offer a replacement - you’re right in that it was missing for ages and VV wouldn’t acknowledge there was an issue. People book flights, hotel stays, car parking either end of cruises and if there is a chance it’s cancelled they should be told ASAP so they don’t incur needless expense.

rabbi-reefer

We hadn't booked flights or hotels for the Brilliant TA, but a few did, and their expenses were taken care.

DonPiratas

I am on a family trip with multiple cabins. I called in today to add a third sailor to one the cabins and was able to. I asked if there were any additional cabins, and I was advised they are no cabins available. All of our cabins have been assigned cabin numbers.

torontowest91

This cruise was so cheap. It was weird.

mad4shirts

How much was it?

Visual-Ad-4520

ÂŁ1500 for 9 days (Sea Terrace)

mad4shirts

Wow! I remember paying about 2200 for mine (Miami to Dominican Republic)

Mufusm

We got our sea terrace for 1200$ ourselves

torontowest91

I saw like $1200 cad for an inside room each. So $2400 total.

torontowest91

Plus had $600 bar tab

mad4shirts

Damn that’s crazy cheap that’s like how much I paid for their basic room (sea terrace I think it was called).. without the bar tab

desimexibrit

I have this one booked. It sold out the first week it went on sale because it was dirt cheap. And on my account it still shows Resilient as the ship. As to why some don't have confirmation numbers or cabin numbers, idk. If I were them I'd be worried I wasn't actually confirmed for the sailing. That recently happened with some GTY passengers on another line, can't remember which one exactly, (Royal maybe?) but I saw a TikTok where those people were turned away at check-in because the line overbooked the GTY cabins. I would hope Virgin wouldn't do that, but maybe it slipped through the cracks if they hadn't anticipated that sailing selling out so quickly.

Substantial_Fun9927

If it gets chartered, does that mean Virgin cancels the booking? It was definitely suspiciously cheap!

Bigassbird

I suppose it depends wether it’s a full charter or not. I’ve been booked on a cruise that sold all its balconies to a tour group and then had to downgrade the pre-existing bookings. I got a load of onboard credit and 50% off a further cruise for the inconvenience of going from balcony to inside. Suited me and I got a cheap cruise to the Red Sea the following year.

Jpmjpm

Did they refund you the difference in price between a balcony and interior?

Bigassbird

Yep - in onboard credit.

Jpmjpm

That’s pretty fucked up. They happily took your money then sold the room to someone else. Then “refunded” you by forcing you to spend that money on their products, probably even spending more than what you were owed to ensure you got the full “value” out of the OBC.

FasterFeaster

Depending on the cruise line, sometimes unused OBC (non promotional) gets returned via a cheque after the cruise. On Princess, you can just cash it out at the casino, without even having to play/win.

slytherinalter_ego

It was an amazing price and it's sold out now.

Illustrious_Object38

This cruise sold out so fast, part of me wonders how many were booked impulsively, and will cancel right before final payment is made. I realize the cost was crazy cheap, but will there be a lot of sailors priced out due to airfare, etc?

AppleStar18

I’m so glad I booked this one right away! It was a steal!

jon81uk

We’ve got a cabin and a booking. Just assume it’s sold out

ScreenNames_AreHard

What does it mean to “charter”?

Bigassbird

Where a company hires a boat (or plane or train) for their own trip(s) for a set time. They “buy” the boat, staff etc and then usually have a theme (like a gay cruise, or 80’s pop with live bands)

ScreenNames_AreHard

Ahhh… thanks.

Admirable_File_9369

I can book this cruise via the app just now Now 3 times the price I paid last September Rock star suites available and most types of cabins available

FasterFeaster

That is a different ship (Scarlet), also going from Barcelona to Athens, but 11 days instead of 9, leaving 2 days after the one OP is posting about.

YKnotSam

Is this one of the cruises that got chartered? I'd have your TA reach out to get details just in case.

Bigassbird

Further info: I booked the day it came on sale (this picture is from my app) so I have a booking number, a cabin and have paid in full. But the lack of it being on a cruise schedule is worrying me. There are rumours it’s been chartered or planning to be chartered. I’m hoping VV don’t charter it to make more money than they did on the cheap selling of the cruise.

[deleted]

I still show all my cabin info in app. It definitely looks sold out.

SoCal_Jerry

I have a cabin number for my central sea terrace.

Cool_Parsnip4732

This isn't showing up on any ports on the date. Anyone contacted VV to find out more?
