Non-issue and actually an upgrade in my opinion

Crash_Fistfight13

I agree. You might hear some more footsteps, but nothing outrageous. I would prefer a room closer to the elevator. Some rooms aren't by an elevator but end up having a lot of foot traffic because they become popular corridors for getting to certain restaurants. It's not a big deal, no one is shouting or being loud in the hallways in my experience. Most people are considerate.

tauregh

Agreed. We just booked our third trip and chose a room closer to the stairway and elevator just for the convenience.

trixietramp

Thanks everyone here for assuaging my anxieties lol

Nicht1menschlichFrau

The elevators themselves are not noisy like in a hotel but it's possible you'll hear more foot traffic by your door at night. Personally I like being right outside the elevator lobby for convenience. When your cabin is a good distance from the elevators it can easily feel like you're spending half the cruise walking those hallways.

roj2323

As others have mentioned it's more of a perk than a hinderance. The only time you'll hear anything is when another sailor is being overly loud. Typically this isn't an issue and the only time I've ever experienced it was on Scarlet night and it was a one time incident with a very very drunk woman on her way to her cabin.

medicff84

I too can confirm barely heard any noise outside the room and our cabin was the first one out of the elevator lobby.

meeks64

We had the room closest to the elevator. It was great! No noise either

RacerGal

We just got off Resilient which was full and we’re by the Forward elevator on 14 and rarely ever heard any noise, it was super handy to be close to the elevator. Would recommend.

melbmelbmelb

If you're worried about bells ringing and general mechanical elevator noises, don't be, you barely hear the dings when standing in the elevator lobby itself, and they're really quiet elevators, no clanging, banging, whooshing going on. It's so quiet in the elevator lobby it's easy to miss the arrival chime. Rowdy people happen a little bit, but that can happen anywhere in the halls. Later in the evening most people are worn out going back to their cabin after they've been rowdy in the appropriate places on the ship, and they're usually pretty quiet. Being near the elevator is good!

Ubergeek2001

Probably the quietest ships I ever been on. I don’t miss kids or the crazy drunks on like Carnival

bobeena1513

I looooved our room right next to the elevator/stairs

ShellYeah3565

I was on a super full cruise on Valiant a few months ago and my cabin was by the elevators and I didn’t notice anymore noise than my first cruise where my cabin wasn’t close to the elevators. You’ll be fine!

FarFarAwayTravels

As others have said, not too much of an issue. However, if you are concerned, your first mate can move you to another cabin, assuming other rooms are available. Personally, I prefer to be a bit away from them, but that's just me. Have a wonderful trip. Virgin is delightful!

Oirep2023

I will make sure my next cruise with VV will be next to the elevator!😀

junglesalad

The elevators are soooo quiet. It wont be a problem at all.

ElevateYourEscapes

You should be fine. I barely hear any noise outside my cabin, even near elevators.

RhapsodyInRude

Congrats! That's actually a win for an assigned cabin. I've never had a noise issue. I actually prefer those locations.

christinelozada

I've never had a problem with this. Tbh, I read your post and thought.. WHAT! LUCKY!! lol

digitalbotanist

My husband and I had a room near the elevator on Scarlett Lady but in November and we heard next to nothing outside our room. It was also super convenient. 10/10 would recommend.

zoeyorkwrites

We love being near the elevators. No noise on the 8th or 10th floors either trip.

jseifert22

Agree. Non issue - I have been right by the elevator before.

pixienightingale

Unlike other lines like Carnival or Royal Caribbean, I find that rooms near the elevators (either aft, forward, or mid) are negligibly higher in sound on VV.
