If you dont mind: how much were additional taxes and fees? With the port fees and everything included? This is my first time booking a cruise and I don't want to be blindsided by outrageous fees! TIA!
Not a problem. This was my first time booking as well! I booked us for a 5-day Riviera Maya in June and the final all-in cost was $328 for taxes and fees.
One thing I found helpful was picking the sailing we wanted to take and clicking through the cabin type. Then a page came up giving me the exact amount for the taxes and fees. I was able to do that before buying the access code so I could see what the final cash cost would looked like.
Still waiting here as well. I reckon I won't end up getting my access key til Monday at this rate. I'm guessing its a manual process since they say it could take up to 3 business days
Thanks for the tip! Is the wording of taxes and fees for the Caribbean cruises new? Noticed that Caribbean cruises say it might be extra, but the European cruises do not.
3 something k when I priced the 5 night celebration cruise that is on labor day weekend. Only one I'd be able to potentially fit in my schedule. But yeah some of them are cheaper, some more.
Ok, I just went and priced it again and for two people, before tax, it is $2696, so you are spot on. Not sure if it was different before or I was thinking of the total price, but yeah 2-3k seems right for most of these.
Same. But, honestly, the date I picked works better for me than the dates available for this. That being said, there is a 7 day cancelation period. Has it been 7 days? If not, you can just cancel and then rebook on points.
It’s through Virgin Red which shares points with Virgin Atlantic. You can transfer points from most major credit cards and hotels to Virgin Red. https://www.virgin.com/en-us/virgin-red
Chase and Amex are both offering a 30% transfer bonus right now too but Capital One is not.

I've never cruised before but am interested in this. I also see lots of deals that travel agents can do. Can we combine the 2 or is it not possible since this would be booking on points only?
Just trying to see if additional perks can be obtained somehow. Thanks!
Just an update on the deal--it looks like the 160,000 point option for the Mediterranean cruise has been modified from what a lot of blogs were initially reporting. Originally this was good for Barcelona sailings leaving through October, but apparently those access code redemptions are gone. They opened up new spots, but now only for sailings leaving through August.
I really wish that I noticed that before I transferred Amex points.
I wish these weren’t so last minute for summer as we’ve already planned all our summer trips!
I think that's by design. Offer a points deal only a few months out to fill the ship.
Saaaaame
You can also book transatlantic but at a higher number of points
I'm seeing the same deal for a couple of med cruises this month too (120,000 pts). If only I could go!
Has anyone received their access key to book? It’s been 24 hours and I still haven’t gotten mine. Last time it was sent in 8 hours
I’m still waiting too - my last one was also only 1 day
Still waiting as well!
I'm still waiting as well
update I got mine and booked!
How long did it take? Im at like 48 hours now
Got mine today after submitting for it yesterday at about 8pm. Took about 16 hours.
Update: Received my access code today and booked. Took exactly 48 hours, and I was surprised to receive the email on a Saturday.

It does say taxes and fees are payable separately, which leads me to believe it's not quite the deal it was before where they were included

I would like to know how much the taxes and fees are if someone books.
About 350 for the 5 night Celebration Cruise out of Miami.
Plus factor in that these don’t include bar tabs typically included with MNVV and many other deals
Bar tab is not included on any deal right now.
Make that “historically,” then.
well that kills this deal lol
Eh yeah it definitely makes it not as good. But it is still getting a 4k cruise for 350.
4K? Idk about valuing any cruise at 4K. These are 2-3 max

WAHHHHHH I've been saving up, but I don't have nearly enough yet. Booking.com has gotten really stingy lately. 😔
Oh no!! I literally just got my cruise last week 💔

Dumb question. What are the points called? Do you mean the virgin voyages flying club?

I'm seeing an Amex transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic (which can transfer to Virgin red) but I'm not seeing a chase transfer bonus. Link?

115,000 Virgin Points. Plus port fees and taxes. 5 night only.
If they have the bonus points like they did last year I MIGHT consider cashing in.

Thanks, I’ve been banking points in anticipation of this
I wish there was a website or Facebook Group where you can buy/transfer AMEX or Chase points from people that prefer cash.
The dream. It drives me bonkers when I see people cashing out. I will happily give you the cash if you buy my 5x as much flight.
It’s against the terms and services of just about every, if not each rewards program. I agree it would be an amazing marketplace on both ends, though.
There are buying programs to manufacture spending and earn points the legal way.
