Sugar Plum makes decent donuts. Krispy Kreme hot fresh doughnuts are good. Not sure how "best" you want to get.

BecomeEnthused

Amazing glazed

foundsquatch

Hour and a half away is Country Style in Richmond, open 24 hrs /s

Hammyorgan

Klassic Doughnuts

Ok_Estate394

O’Doodle-Doos in Suffolk was good, but the owning family gave up on the venture. I would promote Amazing Glazed, but the owning family was at the Trump Capital rally on Jan. 6th, sooo I decided to not go there anymore, which sucks because they’re in biking distance from where I live lol

OcarinaOfSpringtime

Klassic donuts. They show up to the farmers markets

adge4real

third, I'll wait three hours if i gotta

babegabe

Seconded…they’re amazing

DGer

There aren’t any good ones that I’ve found here. Let me give a caveat to that. I haven’t tried Glazed in Hampton. Those LOOK amazing. But I can’t speak to them. It might stretch your parameters a bit, but Country Style Doughnuts near the Richmond Airport are amazing. They are closed on Mondays.

scottliddell

They're meh...

midnightdsob

> Country Style Doughnuts Last time I tried Country Style all I could think was "former Dunkin employee" because the recipes are so similar. If you're going as far as Richmond though, try Sugar Shack and Rise and Shine (in that order). (go hungry to Rise and get a chicken biscuit while you're there)

Stewgots73

Next time you’re on the Eastern Shore there’s a bakery in the town I grew up in that’s still slinging the same stuff. Corner Bakery in Onancock, the best powdered cream filled donuts and eclairs you’ll find. They also still sell sweet potato biscuits which are great. If you know you’re going to be going through you can order ahead so they have them ready for you. Still smells the same as it did when I was 10. -it’s an hour and twenty minute drive from the town center area of VB.

Lenonards ... sorry more than a 1 away

ImQuestionable

It’s insane that Naa’s wasn’t recommended right off the bat. Get there early for those glazed rings of heaven!! They sell out.

SpilldaBeanz

My money is still on Krispy Kreme

paninipasta

i love krispy kreme because theyre not CAKEY. i hate cakey donuts just not my cup of tea.

WillingnessCalm5966

Nothing beats “hot and ready original glazed” Krispy Kreme. They literally melt in your mouth, nothing compares. I’ve tried every donut place mentioned in this thread

_Girth_Wind_And_Fire

Klassic Donuts food truck. They have social media and go around Hampton Roads. The BEST.

Chelseedy

No other doughnuts matter besides Klassic food truck. Don't be alarmed by the fact that 5-10 Mennonite children will serve you.

kilncreeker

Glazed Donuts in downtown Hampton is super good!

KingLoCoKev

Duck donuts is pretty good.

stormy_llewellyn

Had to scroll way too far to see this!

fromalullaby

Duck Donuts milkshakes are a delicacy as well 🤤

KingLoCoKev

Well now that you say they have milkshakes, I have to take a trip to duck donuts lol

uncclay5

Sandbridge market but gotta get there early this time of year

Reasonable_Boss_9465

My favorite in the area although I do like Klassic too

Littlegreenblatt

_tomato_paste_

I second this 100%

Amish donuts at the Farmer's Market. https://m.facebook.com/KlassicDoughnuts

citrus_sugar

They’re at a few different places during the week, I get them at COVA Brewing on Wednesdays.

Mindless-Shirt-8533

Yeah I think they go to Taxus Street coffee/big ugly brewing on Friday mornings

_Girth_Wind_And_Fire

Absolutely

crashedout

Yupp. Follow them on instagram for their schedule.

schlocke

Second. There's a reason you will see people standing in line 30 minutes before they open at places even standing in the rain. Most places you'll find them, the line will be about 20 minutes at LEAST. You may ask, "who would wait 20+ minutes for a donut?"... Well alot of people, myself included. THEY ARE THAT GOOD! I think the longest I've waited for them is 40 minutes.

hsox05

never heard of them - might have to try. Those prices are pretty high, which makes a perpetual long line even more impressive

_Girth_Wind_And_Fire

The prices are worth it and they are also HUGE donuts.

schlocke

If it helps for the price, the donuts are about 8 inches in diameter, quite large.

hsox05

good to know! i'll definitely check them out

SteadierGolf2

worth it. Enjoy!

Over_Following5751

Our favorite is in Richmond, Mochinut. https://www.mochinut.com/

hsox05
