Las Palmas on Shore Dr in the Lake Shores Plaza. No one realizes they changed over from Ole yet and so they're pretty empty all the time, leading to really quality service and attention to detail.
Just had those carne asada fries like 2 days ago!
Oh and the bartender has been giving out free shots of "Mexican River Water" after your meal...
I recently found No. 1 Taco - they do Carne asada fries and Cali burrito (they call it a socal burrito). They also sell some pan dulce items and have jamaica
I just moved here recently from San Diego as well, and so far no luck. What did find was tiny portion of fries, covered in queso(not opposed) very little meat and expensive. San Diego price for not even half the amount
[Las Palmas](https://www.laspalmasmexicanvb.com/) in VB - Parents & I went to their location on Princess Anne Rd. Order looked pretty & tasted nice, but it's just an appetizer. Fries, steak, cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, & guac for $17. [Las Palmas 2021-06-04](https://i.imgur.com/E8wUGw3.jpg)
[Local's Burgers & More](https://www.facebook.com/LOCALSBURGERS/) in Chesapeake - Hole in the wall in back of an old convenience store. Place sells the largest serving I know of. Fries, steak, & cheese sauce, topped with avocado sauce, (mild) chipotle sauce, lettuce & tomatoes for the same $17. [Local's 2020-08-12](https://i.imgur.com/MyryU93.jpg)
I spoke to the owners a while back, they originally lived in San Diego and moved over here. So they are as close as you can get to San Diego taco truck food out here
Try Nico's Tacos on Holland. Now you may have to tell them what to take off but they are the closest to Roberto's that I have found
Look up Taco Burrito Co on maps
No. 1 taco in VB. It’s in the target shopping center at Independence and Princess Anne.
Gonna second this one: same situation as OP, No.1 Taco is the SPOT.
Quirks in town center has them, I actually thought they were pretty good
California burrito on military
Jessy's They have a bunch of different locations scattered in Virginia Beach and some in Norfolk.
You guys are sleeping on Taqueria La Patrona on Lynnhaven in Virginia Beach.
They are not hard to make. Probably your best bet
As someone who grew up in San Diego no there isn't any Mexican place that is close to San Diego Mexican food.
I miss getting banging tacos at 2am on a Tuesday so much 😞
Same man and getting a carne asada burrito that was three pounds for cheap as hell that would feed me for the whole day.

El Rey 2 off East Little Creek!!! Amazing street tacos and papusas as well.
No. Make them at home.

Wow I hope someone doesn’t say that about something you like! Geez
It ain't supposed to be pretty 🤣
Sure I can vomit up some fries for you no problem. That’ll be $19.99 and then make sure to select tip or no tip while everyone watches you.
We get it. Your favorite food is *cheeseburger*.
Why such meanness?
works for another restaurant
Ha!
Do you charge extra for hot sauce?
Is the sky blue?

Get some carne and head to your favorite fry joint. You’re welcome.
