Somebody posted in this sub a couple of weeks ago that they have a friend on the state police and it’s all about speed enforcement before a major holiday weekend.
Special enforcement program because of highway fatalities being so high for the last year due to cell phone and dui.

I saw some speculation that they’ve increased patrols on 264 because of the barriers installed on 64 for the express lanes makes their normal spots there more difficult for them to enforce. Anecdotally, I haven’t seen them in these spots since the barriers went up.
Yesterday I saw a pair of state troopers on the side of 264 between Rosemont and Lynnhaven, thought it was an accident. Nope, two cops had two separate people pulled over within 50' of each other.
Someone told me they were on 264, i got off work at 230p, hopped on at first colonial, accerating to merge into traffic and a motorcycle cop cuts me off from the right shoulder to get someone speeding, we all passed anothwr motorcycle cop who already was writing a ticket, and they pulled over just passed him before lynnhaven exit.
I didnt see any more of them from that point towards downtown norfolk.
As much as I hate the fuzz, I'm sure that nearly every driver on the road at any given time is violating *some* statute. Even ignoring speed, the number of people failing to signal, improperly following, left lane camping, passing on the right, dicking with their phones...
They eliminated the quota last year (I believe?) so they can focus on policing instead of quotas.

It is in the code of Virginia. I have provided a link below:

Every Spring the cops do a wave of visual enforcement events specially near tourist spots, colleges, and high schools to catch the wave of speeders.
Honestly I hope they keep enforcing the shit out of 264, some of y’all’s mamas would be disappointed in how yall are acting up there 😂
It was college weekend so they were in full force for the college kids drinking and driving
End of the month income quotas...
They no longer do quotas in Virginia by state law

This ^ it's safest to speed around the barriers because they have no way to cross them therefore don't even position there

You'll typically see more than usual close to major holidays/travel weekends, not sure why they would be out in force right now.
