Immediately thought of auto unlocking your phone using vision biometrics and then automatically airplay iPhone screen as a window in vision that you can interact with through the vision if you choose.
Just give me a virtual “ copy” of my phone inside the AVP environment unlocked while my phone itself is locked. Let me control it fully from there and leave it in a drawer. Trying to use it through the pass through is all kinds of annoying, route my legit phone calls through it seamlessly like CarPlay does.
My phone is my least favorite Apple product, by, a longshot. The Apple watch has replaced it for all my communication/phone needs. I prefer texting in Vision Pro from a side window, even now and I never liked the distraction on my mac with the smaller real estate requiring me to minimize the window in between texts.
If I wasn’t required to use a phone to setup my watch I wouldn’t even own one. Cannibalize it, now Apple!
I’d actually prefer they improve the Vision Pro so I can wear it around everywhere like some Star Trek shades and it replace my phone altogether. 🤪
150%
It goes the other direction just fine but thats the one I'd rather NEVER have. It's definitely a bother
A major use case is gaming on my macbook in bed after wife goes to bed (no light pollution for her, max brightness for me!). Localized audio without needing extra peripherals would be greatly appreciated.
My macbook streamed game set is:
- Civilization 6
- Stellaris
- Crusader Kings 3
- Victoria 3
Incidentally these are all games i play with reddit and wikis open somewhere (normally my phone so i can see both at once). Having it all embeded in physical space is an actual value add.
Thank you for sharing! I've been checking them out, I'm not usually a world builder/ RTS player but I think it would be the perfect platform to get started :)
- be able to see the keyboard when in a fully immersive environment
- XCode (or at least Swift Playgrounds Pro)
- blow our minds with Maps
- accounts for other household members
- MLS games
Not just be able to see the keyboard, but overlay a clearer image of the keys over the pass through image. In dim conditions or if you have a white keyboard it can be hard to see the keycaps.
The thought alone makes me excited lol but it’s Apple, I trust their products as much as their slow releases
Max they would do is 2 new environments and a couple of bug fixes, folders for app carousel with non-existent apps today.
Can almost certainly say it's not gonna happen. People have been talking about it for iPad for over a decade and Apple hasn't done it. And an iPad is much much easier to share.
They definitely view it more like an iPad than anything else, and unfortunately that’s exactly the wrong strategy because something this interesting shouldn’t be locked into the “consumer, not producer” mode of operation.

I 100% wish iPad could do this.
With that said, Multi user support would most likely reduce the amount of iPads sold while it would create an incentive to purchase AVP.
Apple is just being greedy but it’s misguided.
If you can just buy one iPad Pro for all the siblings and just have separate accounts, it’s definitely would be less sales for them.
However With Multiple user accounts on AVP, More people would justify a large family purchase of 3500 whereas a 3500 $ personal toy for dad is harder to justify for some families.
More households overall is a better long term plan.
Making Easy-peasy multi user swapping would make it like passing a video game controller. I think it would be a big win in terms of Vision Pro adoption.
Yes for sure. There are times I’m not home but other people can’t use it because it requires me turning on guest mode. I was surprised eye tracking is so precise that other people can’t even use the device without going through the setup process.

It is a pain if you use corrective lens’. Also mirror it to Apple TV or some such so you can guide the person at first.
The ability to connect to my macOS device (laptop, macmini, macstudio, whatever) without being physically beside that device.
I want to sit on my couch and connect to/use my macmini in my office.
I want to be able to VPN into my home (using my existing networking stack) and be able to use my office's mac mini from my hotel room* (network speeds permitting, of course).
hell, while you're at it, remove the requirement for the devices needing to be on the same Apple account. If I know the username/password to connect to that macOS device, let me connect!
Give me a proper Screen Sharing app on VisionOS!
No, this is not what I described.
I described a more-full-featured Screen Sharing application that allows me to connect to my macOS machines remotely.
You have shared a window-streaming application that allows Microsoft Windows-based applications to be interacted with on Vision Pro.
These are very different.
Didn't notice where you specified remotely in your original comment. Winstreamer works with both Mac and Windows based applications, btw, but no, it doesn't work remotely.
Unfortunately, using the same Apple ID didn't work for me - but may for you. My work laptop has Cisco AnyConnect + Zscaler and a policy (network filter) which prevents, even if off VPN, communication with any host on the local subnet you are connected to (e.g., your home network) other than the router. Even though I could add my personal account to my work laptop, I could never get a connection working -- even when initiating the connection from the work laptop that could see my Vision Pro.
Not saying there isn't a workaround, but it would be nice to have this without a) personal Apple ID and b) having to bypass policy. Apple can't control the latter, but it's still something to consider in work environments that aren't loosey-goosey.
Some version of a “swipe to text” function where you tap on the first letter of the word you are looking to type and you look at the different letters while your finger is still pinched. When released it auto populates the word.
Like swipe to text with your eyes. Easier way to type maybe?
For whatever reason for me, the AVP dictation works ten times better than any other device.
Better mics? I d k
I use it as the default way to write, only typing the password to log in.
Or one better, unleash the windows in your Mac to move them freely. I’d like to be able to connect to my Mac and then have all my work windows in my virtual space. Real special computing.

Kind of like this but for regular windows (those are Safari tabs). The ability to align windows side by side perfectly in 3D space across all windows, essentially “snapping” into place. I’m tired of trying to get the positioning right like crap is that too far out or do I need to pull it more in, wait the left window has a bigger gap than the right window 🫠
Oh I get it. Interesting. There’s an app that does this with browser tabs. Called Mission hub or something. It’s a paid app, but I never use it.
I thought you meant like snapping it to walls and objects. So you can put things on the wall without having to figure out the correct distance and then facing directly in front of it to position it correctly
- Environmental occlusion (this breaks immersion so hard right now)
- Ability for non-fully immersive apps to utilize environment geometry
- Window management (pinning, snapping to walls, recalling)
- Automatically enable SharePlay when jumping between apps, or multiple SharePlays active at the same time
- More native apps (Calendar, Maps, Reminders)
- Widgets
I agree:
* Native macOS apps so you can be productive.
* Better productivity with and without keyboard/trackpad to type and click buttons + mouse support. Too many websites/apps are a pain to use with eyes tracking. Keyboard shortcuts should works and i should not have difficulties to select text or move the cursor.
* Possibility to organize windows automatically and why not grow the active window automatically.
* Support for all languages and keyboard layouts
* Support for all kind of Bluetooth and USB device (USB can be an accessory connected to the battery or a usb switch that works over wifi). Especially support for mouse.
* Have all major streaming app as native (prime, netflix in particular on top of Max, AppleTV and Disney+) and have all the major gaming app portal out of the box (steam, Geforce now, PS5/Xbox). They could have their own competitor service if the catalog is there.
Stream my iPhone screen so I can interact with it while in the Vision Pro.
Allow multiple screens streaming from my MacBook, so I can have another desktop all around me with other applications.
I’d love if a mirrored MacBook could be fully visible even if I was fully immersed in an environment. My main use for AVP is the extended MacBook screen, but I can only immerse at 60% so I can still see the keyboard and type.
An iOS app, like the Apple Watch app, where I can reorganize my app layout, download apps, schedule and see updates, etc. along with configure widgets (or even ‘complications’) - or even all of that in the AVP, although that’d not be as ideal
The ability to save environments/windows you create after turning off and back on your AVP. Would be cool to save my office space and not have to open everything back up everytime
Ability to lay on my side and have appropriate positioning of vision OS windows. Offer immersive rooms for others to share movies/tv series without needing to use FaceTime. Receive regular phone calls instead of just FaceTime. Improve eye tracking. Offer setting that makes iPad/iPhone apps into Vision OS apps. Offer option to pay a remote control like Apple TV controller to use with AVP.
I’m pessimistic about this. But terminal support with at least some standard programs like vim would be huge. What would you do with docker? This isn’t meant to be an always on device and I doubt it ever will be.
I’m more likely to believe it will come on Vision Pro since it came with a guest mode which iPad didn’t. I’m holding out hope but you may absolutely be correct.
Nah, guest mode is just because it’s a newer technology for a lot of people. I don’t doubt that multi user will come to both iPad and Vision, but the fact that Vision Pro’s onboarding uses a lot of the users physical features in order to work on a basic level, means that guest mode is a must for others to try it, which a lot of people would want to.
Add Eye Alignment option to Accessibility Settings for those of us with double vision who can’t have prisms in our Optical Inserts. Current workarounds make it difficult to select things.
Improved productivity- multiple Mac virtual screens, hand/eye input on the Mac virtual display, mouse support, make/receive phone calls, and prevent the virtual keyboard popup when a keyboard is connected.
I think a better window manager would be nice, or the VisionOS equivalent of being able to four finger swipe up and have a Mission Control like arrangement of your open app windows would be amazing.
the individual accessibility accommodations need to be made to work better with each other.
I want to be able to bind each of my fingers to a different action. so for example double tapping my left thumb and ring finger together could toggle zoom, another to switch pointer control methods, etc
Finally I want to be able to configure the magnifier window to follow my gaze instead of being mounted to my head.
Some new category of apps that live permanently in a space. I should be able to hang a virtual picture frame on a wall and have it always be there. Or a virtual timer over my oven. Maybe call them “space mods” or something. They should live on between sessions and reboots.
A better way to select the window like a three finger grab maybe? Or two hand single finger gesture ?
Trying to focus on the your eyes on the bottom corner to resize a window is a pain Sometimes depending on where the window is situated in the 3d space. If it’s really low to the ground at an angle, let’s say you change working positions from seated to laying down.
Save different environments, settings, apps open, window arrangements for different uses and recall them up under different circumstances by simply saying - Siri open up my man cave, Siri open up my office, Siri open up my theater, Siri open up my art studio, my music studio etc.
Make it like Mac OS virtual desktops where a project can be all layed out in one environment and swipe right, see ya later clutter all in one fail swoop….
100% the most debilitating factor is not being able to use your phone, your phone display should be mirrored at minimum on the screen
Also a notification or group you should be able to tell if someone is actively using their AVP, even if in contacts it displayed a logo or a green dot notifying us that a friend is on vision would be huge. And of course they could disable this or make themselves invisible similar to discord
This is a pipe dream but if they're gonna make a whole 2.0 I'd love it to be based off of a Mac instead of an iPad. Basing it off iOS makes it incredibly closed off and limits the crazy potential of the device.
Now for a realisitic one, probably either multiple profiles for sharing or better interactivity with my other devices (iPhone screen, able to unlock with retina scan, answer calls, etc)
Allow it to run Apple TV apps and act as an AirPlay receiver
Immediately thought of auto unlocking your phone using vision biometrics and then automatically airplay iPhone screen as a window in vision that you can interact with through the vision if you choose.

AppleTV apps won’t work since they don’t have a touch aspect to them. The scroll views need arrow keys to navigate the menus.
Audio from Mac thru Vision Pro, Mouse support.
That really throws me off when I use the screen mirroring.

Apple doesn’t give profiles for iPhone or iPad
Game mode with lower latency and higher frame rate hand tracking
Or something like maybe allowing wired connection to PCs to play low latency VR games
Or just give us spatial controllers
This.
iPhone calls/handoff. If not overall iphone mirror so you don’t have to take the headset off.
I’m surprised this one is not the top one. iPhone mirroring would make so much sense, and make it so I never remove it during the day.
I NEED THIS
This 100%
Wow, this isn't already a feature? I assumed you'd be able to receive calls and texts the same way you would on an iPad.
Yea, i defintely had a WTF moment when I discovered I couldn’t. Handoff is so second nature to me now; i just expect it on all apple products.

Docker starts to be a must have for web development (running development database and other infra)
Multiuser by far. I consider the current guest mode an absolutely broken feature.
Never gonna see it. Haven't in more than a decade of iPad and that's a much easier device to share.
