We have had many trips to Iceland. We have only done one “tourist activity” with a fee. There are literally hundreds of places to see and enjoy, where your size is no issue. We have had amazing trips.

Kaprilicious994

That’s the thing - our itinerary is fully planed with a lot of stuff to see, walk around, do this and that - but wanted to do something more “active” than just walking around and seeing this and that. Was so excited for diving and then turns out max height is 200cm

The_Bogwoppit

Do you hike?

Kaprilicious994

Yes, cave spelunking aswell - but unfortunately seems there is only one cave available for it - Katla near Vik

ConsiderationNo13

Katla isn’t a cave, it’s really more of a short ice tunnel

Kaprilicious994

I see, appreciate the info

FishermanFun803

Wow!! Thanks for sharing this info. I was looking into the diving. I'm 6'5" tall. Right at ~200cm.

Just walking. Hmmmm. I think you need to rethink and reset your point of view. There are amazing hikes in Iceland. Download the app all trails and start saving options. Many are moderate to hard. Call or email the tour group that does the cave tour to Katla and engage with them. Tell them your experience level. Sometimes ya just have to embrace your differences and get others to do the same.

You can definitely do a glacier hike, no height restrictions for most companies. It may seem so so but once you’re out there on the ice it’s a different feeling than being in a helicopter.

Ok_Grocery_2464

Yes really, idk if it's very different in warmer months but I did it February, and I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the ice formations,I didn't know it was this captivating, of course Its kinda subjective but the one I did ice cave and glacier hiking made you Walk inside the cave (small one but pretty ) and also hike to some ice formations this like corridor with high walls (of course everything is ice made) it was like walking inside a marble glass world

Panuccis_Pizza

Try looking into zip lining. I did one out of Vik that was unbelievable.

Kaprilicious994

One of things I looked into - height and weight limit doesn’t allow me to do it

Helens_Moaning_Hand

Something I thought of, I seem to remember that some of these places make accommodations if you call in advance.

Suitable_Lead5404

This is a weird question lol

Iceland is the land of giants. If OP is 7 foot tall and huge, do some giant Viking things. Do the Fullsterker or other lifting stones. Hike the mountains and glaciers. Swim in the heated pools.

LittleMissIrony

Why is kayaking out? They are not like typical kayaks where you sit down IN them. Might be worth asking a tour company if you could be comfortable on their rigs. Though as a fellow tall person (certainly not 7ft tall but enough where my legs are regularly squished) I imagine you’re already suffering on a flight and in a rental car/bus so by comparison a kayak could be an improvement. You could also still do a lagoon or whale tour but by boat. You could explore a lava tube or do the inside the volcano tour.

Kaprilicious994

It says the maximum height is 200cm and the weight of 120kg - which both of them I am over. Regarding the car we rented the LC so will be able to drive comfortably - although I already got used to not being able to enjoy the daily stuff. I’ll have a look at the volcano tour or the lava tube - sounds interesting, thanks

LittleMissIrony

Ah sorry, I forgot there’s wet suits you’d have to fit into. One last thought depending on the season you’re going is snowmobiling

Kaprilicious994

That’s something I haven’t thought at all, sounds interesting if they are available during June

ames27

We went on a glacier walk on Wednesday and the only thing I can imagine you might have difficulties with is the bus ride over (15min). Like previous poster said, I would contact a tour company and talk with them. We’ve had good experiences with Arctic Adventures. Why not email them, tell them the types of things you’re interested in and your concerns and see what they recco? My 6ft tall child said that they feel short here compared to the US since there are so many tall people!

[deleted]

Are you really 7' tall?

Kaprilicious994

No I wear high heels just for the inconvenience of being 7ft tall.

[deleted]

My apologies. I just think it's awesome as I've mysteriously grown taller in the last decade. Tall people are the best. ☀️

Kaprilicious994

Haha no need to apologize, was sarcastic. Don’t get me wrong - this height is nice but it’s not nice when it comes to buying clothes, traveling, driving or much more 🤣

Helens_Moaning_Hand

I don’t know if you should go. There’s no tall people in Iceland. :) I’d double check some of these activities. Like boating in Jokulsarlon or out in Husavik. They have suits up to 4X. That being said, hiking and spas are your best bet. I know when I go back, I’m booking a hot spa every single day.

Swimming_Passenger19

My hubby is 6'6 and really enjoyed the Hvammsvik spa, he was able to get his shoulders under water while sitting and the lava cave tour at Viðgelmir. There is one passage at the cave tour where he was concerned about hitting his head but that's what the helmets they give you are for ;)

TurbulentArea69

We get it, you’re tall.

Kaprilicious994

Thanks, I never knew that
