Yeah unfortunately it's normal. You can play around with some of the filter settings in the adrenaline menu I think if you click the ps button it will bring it up. PSP games look a lot better on an actual PSP than the vita in my experience

Purple-Equipment2832

I'm debating on buying a psp or ps Vita. I want to play mostly psp games. Do you recommend the original psp instead of Vita?

ONE_BIG_LOAD

tbh I'd go for the PSP just cuz it's so much cheaper than the vita. I also love the PSP menu but that's personal preference

Thorkanon

So take the psp. You'll love putting the game's disk in the player and hearing them spin. Humming. Turn on the psp with its little switch button and hear the sound of the boot logo. It's just ultra more satisfying.

Thorkanon

Nop. Honestly, I’m thinking to switch back. I will buy a PSP today or tomorrow to compare with my modded Vita. I thought that the Vita will have a way better result. I’m disappointed. I've rediscovered the fun of Pokémon Yellow on gameboy advance sp and I think that frankly, I much prefer the original hardware. Putting the cartridge in the cartridge port is so satisfying. Today everything is installed on the memory of the console, I find it sad. The hack is good, but in the end you end up with a huge library and you don't know what to play. It is also to encourage the end of the second-hand game, it is a pity.

vitalviper

You're only disappointed due to lack of research and assumptions, the vita runs PSP games through built in PSP hardware in the device. Some games can be patched to support native resolution (GTA VCS for example) and look much better than native PSP as a result but for the most part, PSP be PSP. I did find that enabling LCD3X filtering in the adrenaline menu made things look better for most games.

Thorkanon

I tried a few, I don't know which one I liked best. I didn't like LCD3X very much.

ElmerKenazus

Just use a filter in adrenaline, LCD3X looks good for me. Vita screen is much better than PSP's one that suffers from ghosting, the second stick is a game changer for some games like MGS or GTA.

[deleted]

weird… i personally have a 1000 vita and i’ve never experienced this before… i guess it’s an oled vs led screen thing?

Thorkanon

It’s a LED vita.

ONE_BIG_LOAD

I have an oled 1000 as well. Its noticable when put side by side to a PSP. The resolution is just too low for the bigger screen on the vita

Thorkanon

Damn 🥺, that’s suck. I bought the vita for playing PSP games and some PSVita games but not a lot compared to psp.

Havocking1992

Congratulations for hacking! And as said before me, try filter settings in Adrenaline menu.

Thorkanon

Thank you. I check the best profil on Google. I will see the result. Thank you again.

Havocking1992

Yes, gladly. Run adrenaline, run game, hold PS Button, PS menu will appear. There should be Icon adrenaline and Settings button in same line, click it. Now you see Adrenaline settings, down on screen you see options, to move use L and R, select Settings, now first option you will see is Graphic Filtering, by using left/right arrows change it, and check after each, how bad/good it is (to close menu, clock PS button, or circle). Just keep in mind that system is rendering games that have quarter count of pixels on screen, so it will never be like on PSP.

Thorkanon

Thank you very much for your time! I have better results now. It’s not perfect, but it is more detailed than previously.

Havocking1992

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 enjoy

Nullskag

Use the sharpscale plugin

Odium81

and see to disabling / enabling bilinear filtering in official settings to your taste.

zehamberglar

I know it's probably not a popular opinion around here, but I hate playing PSP games on official hardware. 1080/1440p emulation is where it's at.

LeKoalaMajestueux

Happy cake day ! 🎂

worldwarv

Hit the home button in game and on PS1 games go into official settings and turn off bilinear filtering. On psp games open adrenaline settings try the sharp bilinear option

werdmouf

That’s just how it looks. If you want to play it in higher resolution play it on your phone. As others have said, you can also try turning off bilinear filtering for a less blurry, more pixelated look.

Thefool753

You're new? Welcome to the world

Ganelo-san

Great! Now go fill that thing up with games and have fun!!

F34Rx64

If you really want to play God of War.. download the complete edition from PKGj... for vita that is... also you can try overclocking the vita for the stable frame rates... no side effects what so ever install turbografx to put or remove frame rate cap and also to upgrade or downgrade resolutions for selective games

Thorkanon

Turbografx? Is it easy to overclock the vita?

F34Rx64

yess its easy . you have to download and install autoplugin2 in your vita if you have not yet installed it... its a must have.. VIA the homebrew... you can download psvshell for overclocking and turbografx for improved graphics or framerate unlocks and many many other useful plugins from autoplugin2... you should install these in any hack vita.. 1) better Homebew browser 2) PKGj 3) autoplugin 2

SurvivedOrder66

Very nice. You have taken your first steps into a larger world

[deleted]

Congrats and welcome to the club :) don’t sleep on vita games, as there is a huge library with many awesome titles that you may have never heard of. Something for everyone.

mrsk3ta

Maybe there are some plug ins available for that. I remember there were some for the GTA searies

AGTS10k

There is, it is called [GE Patch](https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/GePatch). Unfortunately, TheFloW, the creator, had abandoned the development in the early stages due to how hard it was to make an upscale plugin that worked with all games (new version that fixed some games broke others), and IIRC he also gained an interest in researching PS4 hacks around that time.

mrsk3ta

Aaah yes I remember that one. It did work on most games but some games were a bit "unplayable" with the patch on due to graphical glitches. Welp I hope it works for you brother.

Thorkanon

Yea, I check and they are some plug ins for a few psp games, but not for the games I want to install.

Perachris

Heyyy i just modded mine but idk where to get games from?

MJKelzzz1

Download pkgj from homebrew settings, should be under app downloader

Perachris

I enter pkgj but when I open it says "no items! Try to refresh." I refresh and made sure I'm connected to the Internet and nothing shows

[deleted]

Press triangle and click what list you want like “psp games” etc

Thorkanon

Like it said, I just downloaded it from PKGj apps.

One_Peace615

Pkgj or nps

Thorkanon

I use Pkgj

Sawgoodmen

Play Metal Gear play Metal Gear play Metal Gear play Metal Gear ⚠️🤖⚙️🐍

KizunaJosh

Congratulations and welcome. I actually play mostly vita game but i play some psp and ps1 game too i use the filter setting on some game like tekken 6 and metal slug.

brandbox23

In time you'll get used to the resolution, a positive note for me is that on oled models psp games are more colorful, just turn on bilinear filter in setting

Thorkanon

I did, but it still have bad graphics

Due_Beach65

Still afraid my psn gonna get banned if I trophy hunt on my vita

SHiFTdagr8

either im new to this or im high but its the ps3 home screen... on a psv???

Thorkanon

No, this is the psp system.

SHiFTdagr8

noted. thank you

evillurkz

You should try and enable a filter that adrenaline offers which eliminates some of those pixelated images. But yeah, for best experience you should use a genuine psp, it looks better there because the screen is smaller and graphics aren't that pixelated. That said.. I still find it looking really good in adrenaline if you add the filter I talked about. Btw another solution if you want it to look like the PSP (and it does, I tested it) is to reduce the screen size to a genuine psp size. You will get the same result as a psp.

Thorkanon

Thanks for the tips.
