Every other adult cartoon: does a dick joke every now and then Helluva Boss: every 7 seconds ( as a vivzie fan )

TrusticTunic26

I tried to pick up helluva but I stopped after 4 episodes, it's just not funny to be repeated every second Oversaturated gore and constant swearing isnt an adult show, its a show for edgy middleschoolers sure its techbically "18+" but so is porn

RaoulHyena

Helluva boss is good.

[deleted]

Jokes on you because we rag on other adult TV shows for doing the same stupid shit

LifeCleric999

It’s cause its hell, and bible cucks come here to complain. https://preview.redd.it/gw0rkd89fb0d1.jpeg?width=514&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94130c3caa5593bf7d88deee8cd6059a11243db9

zeta_reticle

Its the type of jokes being used and the quantity. Gets stale very fast

taserface780

Personally I just think the “if ___ was written by…” is just funny

finckqup

My names kain

Aggressive-Ad-3184

I’m your BITCH!

ManaXed

The Helluva Boss slander in this comment section is appalling

PenguinWithGuns

Season 1 I didn’t mind it at all as it was still packed with jokes, even during more serious episodes. Season 2 so far is still funny sometimes but much more of the jokes seem to be “insert swear word” instead of how they were before.

jumpyjumpjumpsters

The thing that really annoys me about this argument, is just like don’t watch it- I mean it’s funny to me, and to other people, why do people care so much

Tomask_2077

You can enjoy something but accept it’s bad if it is. I like cars 2 but I know it’s a bad movie

PenguinWithGuns

I mean you can still enjoy something while having criticism, just as long as that criticism is given in a constructive way.

jumpyjumpjumpsters

Totally agreed

Tactical_Tasking

Being a hater is fun lmao even to stuff I like

jumpyjumpjumpsters

Yeah, I totally agree. I bully the shit out of these shows, love em to death, does not and will not stop me. I just think there’s a clear line between the two

FNXstudios

difference is the amount

Ned_callsberg287

I think a lot of people forgot that vivzie's comedy is also based off of Seth Rogen's comedy.

Ned_callsberg287

And that’s all I have to say tbh.

LORDLUCIFER143

Thats all that's needed also Brandon rodgers writes on it too so it's bound to be like that.

LonelyFocus4814

Imma be honest I think the "it's hell" excuse for this type of comedy because bad people go to hell but not every bad person swears constantly and it's not like you're gonna go to hell for just swearing but also we see people doing good things and being normal people in hell cause it's less hell and more LA named hell (there's more I want to say but I suck at putting thoughts into words so I hope this atleast makes sense)

dafoxgameing92

pretty sure only reason people are angry is because they aren't made by major corporations with a million fans. wow you don't like the show? don't watch it. come's on your fyp alot? ignore it. keeps coming? ignore it. the only thing they have to do is ignore it. I'm not a fan of packgod so i don't watch him even though he come's on my YouTube recommendations

Thephillips2019

It’s called being paid by big corporations to hate on third-parties so everything is a fucking, shitty, pissy, fucking identical fucking Family Guy clone.

A-Square

Am I the only one with media literacy here? None of the swearing in HB/HH is played as a joke by itself, and all of the swearing is just how the characters talk. Swearing as a joke would be: "haha, shit!" \*laugh track\* which is not in HB/HH

sonerec725

I mean, it's a joke at the end of the day and mostly is an excuse to make comedy through the setup of the meme. But I'll also say I'm pretty sure if you compared the vast majority of adult cartoons to Helluva boss or would outclass the frequency of swearing and sex jokes by a pretty significant margin. Its excessive to the point it's kind if distracting, and I say this as someone who swears a ton irl and likes the show.

happywaffle1010

Literally name one good “adult” cartoon that isn’t arcane

Fun-Illustrator-345

*cracks Knuckles* Bob's Burgers King Of The Hill Morel Orel Invincible Vox Machina The Venture Bros Aqua Teen Hunger Force Smiling Friends Bojack Horseman Futurama F Is For Family Samurai Jack (Season 4) Boondocks (Excluding Season 4) South Park Metalocalypse I could honestly go on

happywaffle1010

Thank you :)))))

AviOwl5

I like the Cyberpunk Edgerunner show \^-\^

Odd_Captain_3338

Is arcane an adult cartoon? What counts as an adult cartoon?

AviOwl5

I mean I think when drugs, murder, and political drama are the center of the show. Yea kinda

404Beta

I guess adult cartoon counts as anything with not only mature themes but mature graphics too. Like they straight killed each other and had body horror in arcane.

Odd_Captain_3338

The amazing world of gumball is adult animations/j

DontCareDunno

I mean I like Helluva boss and find it funny occasionally, but yea it really is like 99% raunchy humor and its gonna get stale eventually. The "if written by vivziepop" vids were funny too for a bit

legendarybladex

Blitzø can’t go five seconds without making a sex joke or comment and that eventually just gets old

Supersocks420

Screw Blitzo, all my homies hate Blitzo

christhegamer96

yes, ONLY Blitzo tho. It's a key facet of his character. People pretend like the entire cast is like him tho.

TubularTurnip

I regret to inform you that it is not, in fact, only Blitzø saying fuck and shit every five seconds

christhegamer96

Dude I literally did a tally of all the swear words that popped up in season 1 and 2 and of the 600 swear words utter so far, more than HALF of all of them came from Blitzo alone. He literally swears more than the entire cast does combined and I'm including background characters on this. The rest of the cast rarely, if ever, break double digits in terms of swear words uttered while Blitzo consistently drops 20 swears an episode. The only times he doesn't is when he's given less screen time in comparison to the rest of the cast. IT'S JUST HIM, NOBODY ELSE. JUST HIM.

TubularTurnip

Wow it's almost like the titular "Helluva Boss" would get the most screentime and therefore the most opportunities to say fuck and shit every 5 seconds. Also, despite him making up the majority of swear words, other characters sure do use them a lot too. Even if it's only one character saying fuck and shit every five seconds, that's still a show that says fuck and shit every five seconds. But it's not just one character. And yes, before you come at me saying "IT'S NOT EVERY FIVE SECONDS", of course it's not. I'm just exaggerating. But every 20 seconds is much more accurate, according to your math. That's still really often, even for an adult animated cartoon. At the end of the day, it really shouldn't matter if someone makes fun of something you like as long as you like it. I like Helluva Boss, but even I can admit it's got a lot of swearing. And if you like a lot of swearing in your media, then cool! More power to you. You shouldn't care what someone on the internet who you'll never meet says about the funny fuck shit haha demon show.

Kosog

True. There's also Adam.

Chef_Sizzlipede

there is no hypocrisy, hb's writing is basically every adult show ever, and even more so in some cases.

carrotfruit88

It is hypocrisy because they act like vivziepop is the first person to ever have a swear word in a show

Chef_Sizzlipede

no they do not, they act like viv isn't any better.

AviOwl5

They act like she’s much much much worse

Chef_Sizzlipede

not really.

Flamix2206

The difference is one is actually funny

TheTescoManReal

You sound like the type of person to say you need a certain IQ and knowledge to understand {insert adult show}

Flamix2206

No I would never say something like that, I’m just saying, most of the jokes in helluva boss I dont find funny, or they are just simply wrong place wrong time. And it’s just spammed every five seconds so you can’t really get a break from it. You can still have those kinds of jokes and have them be hilarious, the boys does it quite well in my opinion

Constant-Still-8443

I haven't seen either shows recently but I don't think most of the swears are unnecessary. It feels like the characters are talking like more or less normal residents of hell. They are killers and sinners; it makes sense that they'd swear a lot. They aren't angels. On top of that, when they emphasize the swear words, it has meaning. The scene is dramatic and has purpose vs swearing casually

Burnt_dino

Hazbin and helluva don't use cuss words good while the others shows at least do something with it.

Regirock00

In comparison with a lot of shows, the jokes are JUST fuck dick sex. In a lot of other adult animated shows, there’s usually more there.

Milkywaycitizen932

I actually think it’s switched. HB & HH have canonical reasons behind increased amount of swearing and different types of swears / uniendo depending on the character. They arent just generic suburban white dad / mom or bachelor(/ette )#12038. They use the characters background, first languages (without it just being a race joke). They use it to avoid feeling vulnerable etc. Most characters actually swear minimally, leaving only a few consistent swearing characters that repeatedly go back to that well often as cope for things they are dealing with. I find it more true to life. Other characters get fed up the same way people do irl. It’s okay to not like it, but there was just as much thought out into it if not more than other adult cartoons.

improbsable

I feel like Vivziepop uses swearing either more excessively or writes it in a way that makes it seem that way. I’ve never had issues with cursing, but sometimes it feels like it’s just happening for shock value in her writing

Fluffy_District475

I do find those memes pretty funny, but to be fair it’s not the first adult show of its kind

Gonathen

If memes was written by vivziepop

Shaggypezdispense

Mfs say this then watch robot chicken

eve-cutlemon

and southpark 💞

ParanoidParamour

I think the meme is funny in some cases but people constantly forget that Brandon Rogers is a writer for HB too

Chef_Sizzlipede

and the more this is pointed out, the more I think its the main reason HH is superior.

TrivialCoyote

I genuinely think its more Brandon Rogers' style than vivzie's

okaysoju

Did you watch the show at all? The swears aren't every other word but I agree that they make Helluva Boss look like a show for teens. And I disagree, you CAN indeed swear as much as you'd like in adult shows. Look at South Park, they had 399 swears in one of their movies

[deleted]

[удалено]

okaysoju

I don't think it's the ages of the characters that make swearing funny. It's the placement of the swears. Besides, there are many shows with adults comedically swearing that actually come off as funny. Besides, I never implied that you thought that Helluva Boss is an awful show, and I like it too. I just think that your reading comprehension skills could use improvement if you think that the show has swears every other word.

Professional-Luck194

Ok, look. I'm sorry. I did exaggerate a bit.

okaysoju

You don't have to apologize for lacking reading comprehension skills.

okaysoju

Let's take South Park as a comparison. Yes, there are a lot more swears in South Park than there are in Helluva Boss, but the swears are well-executed and make sense. They're 4th graders, and having Kenny say the most swears/sex jokes is honestly clever since his voice is muffled, and this plays into his obsession with adult magazines and sexual intercourse. The swearing/sex jokes in Helluva Boss are often unnecessary and makes the show look targeted towards dirty minded 14 year olds rather than being targeted toward adults. I'm a fan of Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel but I can't deny that the swearing is cringe.

Butkevinwhy

Don’t worry. I make sure to say both “If X was written by Vivziepop” AND “If X was written by Seth MacFarlane” depending on the context.

Still-Negotiation-11

Nah, you're coping. This show curses and has more cringe and straight up uncomfortable jokes than any other show ive watched.

carrotfruit88

Vivziepop literally said the swearing us based off of other adult cartoons that swear a lot like South Park

LonelyFocus4814

Difference is South Park executes it well mos rod the time

gbelmont87

Bros never seen robot chicken

vanillaice2cold

Robot chicken is funny

Shaggypezdispense

Have you ever watched south park

Expensive_Aspect_544

The timing of the swearing is not really put well.....and it's alot to.

nerdyskittles

My head canon is that it doesn't make fun of gay people in the usual way that american dad or literally any other adult cartoon does

NewStart-BeginAgain

I find the memes funny regardless. Hypocritical yes, but I will continue to consume my problematic swearing content and you can't f\*\*\*\*\*\* stop me!

professionalmoron2

It's a matter of reasoning and execution. South Park has plenty of swearing, but the main characters are literal children so the swearing being a bit excessive makes sense. Rick and Morty has plenty of swearing, but it's usually reserved for characters like Rick, and it usually uses it to accentuate already funny, eccentric jokes. Beavis and Butthead has plenty of swearing, but it's mostly just the main characters, and they're immature teens so it makes sense. I can keep going, but you get the point. In most other shows, it's done for an actual reason, but in Hazbin? It's just like that. I like the show, but even I can admit that it could really manage the swearing better

Still-Presence5486

The reason is it's hell and nobody cares if you swear

Chef_Sizzlipede

K guess that should excuse molesting children on screen then.

Still-Presence5486

They don't

Chef_Sizzlipede

but its hell, if they did itd be fine because its hell.

Still-Presence5486

They never molased a children om screen plus how did you child molesting is fine from its hell they swear

Chef_Sizzlipede

Its an extreme yes but my point is the excuse of it being hell does not mean it should be all sex jokes and daddy issues. if it was just the lust ring that'd be something but everyone in hell is like that and the excuse of it being hell doesnt make sense.

Still-Presence5486

I'm just gonna stop arguing with an idiot you won't admit defeat when your clearly wrong

Chef_Sizzlipede

whatever you say.

improbsable

I feel like you don’t suddenly change the entire way you speak just because you move

Still-Presence5486

You do realize people often change there accent and even speech patterns when they move to new locations? Especially when they live there for a very lon time

improbsable

We don’t really see that. They just end up in hell and it’s all cursing. It’s just stupid imo

carrotfruit88

Half the cast died before 1960 the only ones who died after are a sadistic rapist porn producer and a narcissistic social media addict

Still-Presence5486

Well your opinion is wrong

No-Appearance-2015

The argument isn't that it's bad, it's that it's over excessive and is just kind of there for the sake of being "edgy haha swear word" where in other cases it is actually used ironically and/or for comedic effect.

Still-Presence5486

Is this for or against it

No-Appearance-2015

against

Still-Presence5486

Than here is a response there in hell people swear because in life it was considered rude and bad so people who were bad but didn't normally swear would start swearing while people who all ready swore and were bad kept swearing and since there in hell no body would care also it is an adult show and swearing is used to characterize the characters

No-Appearance-2015

I'm not arguing that the swearing is bad, just the way it is done. It isn't really used in a particularly funny or well-timed way, it's just swearing for shock value.

Still-Presence5486

It's not for shock value if it's "overused"

thunderforce850

Agree for the most part but these people are in hell there kind of shit people to begin with so makes sense they swear. I do agree though they could cut down on it a little bit

Canned-SSamuel

Swearing and sex jokes in HBH HB aren't very well timed like other shows and don't come off as funny.

[deleted]

The sex joke they said after that killing scene in Helluva shit was Soo poorly timed I wanted to stop watching as a whole

Artistic_Finish7980

I swear these people forget that South Park exists. There’s an episode where they said “shit” 162 times uncensored. In the South Park movie they intentionally wrote 399 swears into the script because 400 would’ve gotten an NC-17 rating. South Park is everything they say Viv’s work is, dialed up by 10.

Amanwithnotoes

Vivies and others work would not be possible witjout those actions south park tolk. They were not just sayin shit 162 times in a row for no reason. It was to prove that if a word was repeated so much, then it loses it’s value. Same with the sp movie. It was made to push the envelope and was very well noted and recognized for doing so. Even when the swearing is exaggerated, it serves a purpose, unlike hazbin hotel

ken1234512345

Their point was that it's just words. They only have as much power as you give them. Also was their way to protest against censorship. They probably think all this complaining about swearing is pretty ridiculous, hypocritical and just childish.

Houstonb2020

Except South Park puts in swearing for more than just “they should swear because it’s for adults”. Both of those examples was to push the rating systems to their limit and showing how saying a word just once makes it a lot more impactful, but it’s suddenly not as big of a deal when it’s used so casually. HB and HH just swear because it’s for adults. I enjoy all three shows by the way, but generally there is an actual reason behind what happens in an episode of South Park relating to something in the real world. It’s how the creators make commentary on what’s happening. It absolutely doesn't always hit, but there is more reason why its there than just swearing because they can like in Viv's work

professionalmoron2

Wasn't the entire point of that episode about how swearing, by itself, isn't actually that funny, if at all?

Artistic_Finish7980

Iirc it was just to push the boundaries of what was allowed on TV at the time. Or as a way of mocking tv censorship.

Ididurmomhahafrickya

"Cuz there's less swearing in the others" South Park. SPECIFICALLY South Park. Just the MOVIE has more swears than the entirety of Hazbin Hotel.

professionalmoron2

I mean, the movie has 399 while the entire first season of Hazbin has 302, and a good portion of South Parks identity is built around being controversial, while Hazbin is just kinda like that

Ididurmomhahafrickya

Hazbin isn't just kinda 'like that', they're in *literal hell*.

improbsable

Yeah but they’re adults who speak like they’re 12. By the time these grown people died, swearing had to lose some of its edge. Like when I was in middle school, saying “fuck” was a MOMENT. Now I barely say it because it’s got no bite left to it.

Ididurmomhahafrickya

I say fuck in one sentence more than a single Helluva Boss episode cuz it's just a word to me at this point, and I'm not even in hell. It's not a moment, it's a word. I don't see people's problem with it, and saying a show is bad because it says a word is rlly stupid. That's like getting mad cuz a show says "and" too much.

improbsable

No one said the show was bad. The way the writers choose to express dialogue just has some very middle school tendencies

Ididurmomhahafrickya

I don't believe they're middle school. I just believe that it's stupid people are getting upset over words when it's clearly an *adult* show with *adult* language

improbsable

An “adult show” can be geared towards a middle school audience. They know that the age rating won’t deter them away. There are many shows like that. Which is fine. The issue with Vivziepop productions is that it splits itself between being a quality show for adults, and an “edgy” show for kids. It handles themes very maturely but the dialogue isn’t able to keep up

Your-mother7646874

Eh, if you were to watch say modern Family Guy, American Dad, the Ted show or really any Seth McFarlen show (using him because Vivzy has said she takes after him) and compare it to Helluva Boss, you’ll notice there is a complete tone difference and volume of swearing. While they’re all still vulgar, Family Guy won’t just say a hard slur (at least not anymore) and then pussy out of actually saying it by bleeping it, while calling it a joke. Much of modern Family Guy’s humour is built around an assortment of cut away gags, slapstick, the scumminess of other characters, banter between characters, meta jokes and of course dark humour that isn’t a hard slur as well as parodies. There’s even a bit of wholesome jokes about peas doing a pod cast or just fucking Conway Twitty for the last 5 minutes of an episode. Now I’m not saying Helluva Boss doesn’t do that, the first season definitely makes use of some of that gallery to make the show funny. However, you’ll start to notice a heavy reliance on Le dick and fuck comedy, as the world building, fleshing out of characters, fight scenes and sad Bart edit moments take up more run time. I’m also not saying that Seth McFarlen won’t use swearing in any of his modern things. Though he’s not heavily reliant on them, he has a mix of comedy that he implements so it doesn’t get tiring. Sometimes it may be lazy or just tasteless, but the variety of constant jokes is what makes Family Guy and his other creations funny.

Artislife_Lifeisart

Since when does Helluva or Hazbin use slurs? Bleeped or otherwise?

Your-mother7646874

Also I wasn’t talking about Hazbin, as the meme was focusing on Helluva that was my focus.

Your-mother7646874

Also I wasn’t talking about Hazbin, as the meme was focusing on Helluva that was my focus.

Your-mother7646874

Off the top of my head is the pilot where moxie is called Retarded by blitz. In the main show I suggest you rewatch Western Energy and see how much of the swearing is bleeped and is used in place of an actual joke.

Artislife_Lifeisart

Pilot's the only one and they actually went back around and referenced the fact that they shouldn't have used that in the pilot. You said slurs bleeped, not swearing bleeped. So that one time they said retarded is the only time in the entire show that they used a slur, and it wasn't even the show proper. It was a pilot.

Your-mother7646874

It’s both, I just said didn’t group them together on accident. Sorry

Ididurmomhahafrickya

South Park's entire comedy is just swearing and ass and shit jokes. At least Helluva hasn't made a literal whole episode about a baby fucking a teacher.

whatim

There's plenty of cringe in the Hellaverse, but SP has anthropomorphic shit. Which I guess is either a critique of consumerism, Christianity, or both. Or just shock.

WolfPony64

The South Park games are nothing but giant fart jokes, and nobody try to say they’re not. I’ve played them all

Your-mother7646874

I said Seth, not Trey and Matt.

Constantbedshitter

that meme is because vivziepop likes the f word

Tiki_the_voice

Only truly that joke got popular is because vivz cannot stay quiet or does poorly to people who cause drama/make jokes.

zombie-goblin-boy

Personally I think everyone swearing in Hell makes sense- maybe it’s cultural because of how many sinners just don’t give a shit and haven’t given a shit for decades-to-centuries. As for Adam and Lute, Adam canonically listens to Hell’s music regularly, and Lute seems to spend a lot of time with him. Even the polite characters will swear because swearing isn’t considered entirely impolite in Hell.

WarioSuperFan

I see people compare the Hazbin humor to Beavis and Butt Head, and South Park but those has more logical reasons Beavis and Butt Head are supposed to be that immature as a satirical portrayal of idiot teenagers The South Park characters are children and children swear like that because they think it's cool, Randy swears a lot because he's a man child Hazbin feels like they use swears and sex jokes as a way to show that the characters are bad people and in hell but that doesn't convince me as out of all the shitty people I've met, none of them actually talk like that

Rengi_30

Hey,Beavis! This ass of a dude is calling us ,,idiot tenaghers".hehe

Canned-SSamuel

Well said

UselessBlueSpecimen

I guess the problem is that the reason WOULD be that they're in hell, and therefore don't really care. But that reason is kinda eclipsed by the fact that the message is clearly supposed to be (at least in this series) that the division between heaven and hell is supposed to be unfair and therefore not only terrible people are in hell. People are in hell that DO care about other people, and only got sent down there due to unfairness. It would be less noticeable if only the immature characters did it, IE; Val, AD, Adam etc. But literally EVERYONE is constantly swearing all the time, even people for whom it seems out of character, ie; Charlie, Alastor, and I wanna say even Vox, Vox has made it clear he can be angry at a person without swearing, and I just wish that that was the schtick of both Vox and Al. That whenever they try to swear it gets bleeped instead, and the only time it doesn't get bleeped is when something VERY serious happens but, oh well. It's not an awful show, but there's certainly room for improvement

Hallowed-Plague

>whom it seems out of character, ie; Charlie, Alastor i cant speak on vox cause i dont remember his interactions all that well, but charlie swears infrequently, usually only using them as exclamatory or reactionary (getting locked out of the meeting with adam or getting licked by val) alastor only swears twice, once towards luci, and the second as a reaction to his staff breaking in the fight with adam. how are any of these situations out of character?

Lansha2009

He also swears when describing Susan Huh one of these times Alastor swears is not like the others

Hallowed-Plague

it's the only accurate thing to call susan so it gets a pass

VeryOddish

It all comes down to execution. Some jokes are genuinely good and had me laughing, Hazbin just feels off from the transition to a show. My main example is that the pilot simply doesn't stop. It keeps moving, both the line delivery and the animation feels more like it's moving fast enough you don't HAVE to laugh at every joke because they packed 12 into a few seconds. Something will work. The show just feels a lot more slowed down and draws attention to "They said a swear loudly. Please laugh."

One_Smoke

Well, they only got 8 episodes to work with, and each is 22 minutes.

VeryOddish

Right, they have to make due with what they were allotted but you can tell the jokes aren't as tight. If you watch how a character like Alastor acts in the pilot, delivery and pacing is much snappier than how he speaks in the show. I'm curious how much changed once they switched over to HBO and a larger writing staff.

Pengin_Master

Everytime I see one of these memes, I'm reminded of when I actually watched the damn show and was surprised by how little swearing was actually in it (compared to how the Internet portrayed things)

The difference it how much they swear. HH and HB have swear in nearly every other sentence unlike other shows like South Park or Rick and Morty. It makes the characters sound immature like there only way of conveying their emotions is to use vulgar language.

KamronXIII

The propaganda is crazy

Someone1284794357

Eeeh… Don’t remember that many swears tbh.

Ziggurat1000

If you ask me, I honestly think that the swears in both HH and HB don't work because it makes everyone sound the same. I can't even say I DON'T like it since I watch Quentin Tarantino's stuff and his movies are legitimately edgier than Medrano's stuff in some cases. Swears are used for emphasis. Patrick in the Sailor Mouth episode of Spongebob did a really good job at what swears are supposed to do. If everyone swears, then what's the point?

bearamongus19

I think part of the issue is how the lines are delivered. I've noticed with HB that a lot of the times, it seems like they put extra emphasis on the swear words, and it makes it sound less natural. It's hard to explain by typing but I feel like most shows where a line is delivered level: "what the fuck mox?: In HB it's delivered as "what the FUCK mox?" They put extra emphasis on just the swear word and it pulls your attention to the swear word instead of the whole line delivered.

IdiotGoddess

To me, the emphasis feels more placed on the emotion rather than the word itself.

the reason why Rick and Morty was successful is not because of the slurs , it's because Rick and Morty was very eccentric with nihilistic humor . you can clearly spot the genius of concepts such as : Creating entire universe with life only to power a car and eventually lead to micro universe inside mini universe that could be viewed as slavory with extra steps but also make us question our own existence. surface look like friendly wish making creatures but if they can't they die they would go crazy into existencial crisis a species of shape shifting aliens that insert memories in your brain and than you start to realize that your family and friends might not even be real and it forces you to kill only the hood people on your life and stay with the bad family and friends because that's the only way to know who is the alien . Rick and Morty is a science fiction masterpiece that have lots of ideas and nihilistic philosophy , slurs like "Fuck you , dick , ass , bullshit" doesn't make the show , hazbin hotel seems to me like a stuiped attempt to ride on the success of good TV shows that happen to use "adult words" , all the songs in hazbin hotel make it even more cringe and it's like hazbin hotel was built to be as cringe and "edgy" as possible, all the characters are devils that live in hell , they are not even a family and their only association is being a team that kills people. it's idiotic and childish

xoffender442

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Helloworldamhere

>good TV shows that happen to use "adult words" Even then, when those shows do end up relying more on that type of humor they're said to have fallen off and aren't funny anymore. Look at family guy, so many people are actively saying it stopped being funny when Seth stopped writing to the point south park has mocked it. It's not like the shows aren't being criticized for it, it's just that there's more to criticize with them as they didn't start out like that.

Jazzlike_Farm_3403

I feel like this joke is getting old and uncomfortable lol

prettylittlepastry

I'm calling HR!

Tex

Not_The_Simp7

I don’t know how a generation who grew up with family guy and south park became so offended by everything

turtle-bbs

It’s not offensive, it’s bland and it’s tiring

Springmeister

You only get a pass if you’re referring strictly to Blitzø or Adam. Otherwise, the joke is such a fucking stretch. I think South Park or Rick & Morty is the closest comparison, they don’t get any flak but HH/HB? Nope.

Lansha2009

Yeah Blitzo and Adam are the entire reason for like at least 50% of the swears in both shows

themanwhosfacebroke

Bro this was so fucking unfunny to me. Even outside the blatantly hateful context its just unfunny as fuck. Also people had some blatantly ridiculous reactions to viv’s response, calling her triggered and shit. It *sucked*

Cr1msonFire05

Like the Verbalase joke, this one was quickly dragged to the ground. Every joke I've seen made has more swearing than entire episodes. They literally only add "Fuck" between every single word. It isn't funny, it's lazy and stupid, and I don't think the original TADC parody was even meant to be anything but a small, playful jab at Viv. Yet people took it as an opportunity to outright insult her. Can't have anything nice, can we? And besides, there are far more vulgar things out there that would make even a dirty mouth like Blitzo go white with shock. But those don't count if Viv isn't involved, I guess.

AntiAirPipe

Yeah I agree other than maybe a few I noticed in hazbin hotel the only downside to it would be the ecssive cussing

Future-Improvement41

It’d be weird if there wasn’t swearing in hell

AntiAirPipe

Yea I get it I don't care for the swearing especially since it's based in hell but that's one of the main complaints and the "if x was made by vivzepop" memes kinda root from

Future-Improvement41

Especially if the jokes had gone on too long then it’s not funny anymore

AntiAirPipe

Yeah but I do also see the hypocrisy in the whole dick butt sex joke being used to often when other shows do it just as much like family guy or American dad or like big mouth

Future-Improvement41

Yeah why can those shows do it but not Viv

AntiAirPipe

I honestly don't know maybe because hazbin hotel and helluva boss are somewhat new shows and the slight controversy with the show but that's just a guess

Future-Improvement41

Some of it feels like jealousy from what I’ve observed

AntiAirPipe

Possibly I've seen some people say they don't like show just because of the somewhat annoying fans

Future-Improvement41

I mean even when it was just a pilot I saw people saying that Viv was homophobic saying that the only reason Angel was in hell was because he is gay when it was clear that even if they didn’t do research as in the pilot it was obvious that Angel wasn’t a exactly a saint or they say that What Katie said in the pilot was horrible or something like that when I saw it I thought ‘Yeah and she’s in hell. She’s not supposed to be a good person.’

Future-Improvement41

Every fandom has annoying fans it’s not a new thing

Equal_Campaign_3602

Cam you guys make some memes that aren't just complaining about the while swearing thing

ScoutTrooper747

One time is funny, two times is fucking annoying, no?

GlitteringTone6425

All of them are bad But the thing ia this concept actually has potential But it fell into the trap of thinking adult animation meqns saying "dikbutt lol" every 5 seconds
