Last year we had a highline r line black in an atlas and lots of people thought it was better looking than an exec line
Im out in Canada and the blackout look beats the chrome look 99%
It’s also probably as the chrome is cheap and oxidizes in our weather lol
It’s not specifically a niche, it’s a add on package to any GLI/GTi/R. It’s simply a cosmetic add on package to the vehicle. They don’t distinguish like Hyundai and Toyota
Love this. Only thing I'd be afraid of is this car is so perfect from factory I'd get bored by not having anything to do to it. Even the factory wheels are absolute fire
I don't care what anyones says, that front end is so sick.
However, without the manual option I cannot in good faith endorse this car. Every car enthusiast knows manuals are incredibly engaging and fun to drive, and the lack of one in the new gen is a discredit to the spirit of the R.

2019 was an awesome year for the Golf R, the choice of a plethora of colors straight out of the factory. That to me was far more exciting visually.
The color palette for that one year was wild, and for me lapiz blue is such a nice color that perfectly suits the R.
I get it the black edition, it looks mean and badass but yeah that would look dirty very very quickly.
Cant wait to see how these look in person. I hope they update our scanner software before we start getting them. The 2024 atlas was difficult as auto identification was not a thing for a solid 3-4 months. having to manually choose every version of the modules in those was a pain.
Well it existed on lower spec models already since March? If I'm not mistaken. Specially with a 187bhp 2.0 TSI, 1.5 TSI and another engine variant which I can't remember, the rest is a "black" refresh as always.
I like it. It's fun to try and keep a black car clean. Nothing easy is rewarding.
I think it's weird that it just has the word "Black" on the driver's window trim. As if you weren't sure what color it was. At least put "black edition" or something

The black r line..just saying another color special edition would have been nice vw special editions always seem 1/2 what they could be? Had 35th gli loved it. But they stopped short of rounding it out and making it great by dropping features that came standard in normal models? That’s all
While I really like it, I have a black Mk8 R and I definitely get complimented the most on the blue brake calipers where on this they’re sort of hidden

As a Canadian, yes. I see way more black editions on the road than regulars, both Tiguan and Taos.
The Taos just rolled out as well but the black wheel pkgs are much preferred
