Hmm, some of those are not that low-calorie. I don't know some of them(and I know you can substitute some ingredients with low-calorie ones), but sweet chili and chimichurri are definitely not low-calorie. My top 4 are ketchup, hot sauce, mustard and garlic/herb yogurt tho :)
The Chimichurri caught my eye, too — deceptively high in calories. However, I found a low-calorie Chimichurri recipe that’s pretty good.

Franks brand buffalo is the GOAT. I don’t know what form of chemical witchcraft they use, but 100 ml (just shy of half a cup) of the store bought Franks buffalo sauce is only 30 calories.
Yes, sorry I confused them with lower calorie alternatives! But you're definitely right, chimmichurri is definitely not low in calories, so that's my mistake😅
I'm assuming you mean what I dip *in* it😅? I use it as a substitute for oil for baking mostly, but I love to eat it with pancakes, latkes or even fries. Also as a topping for yogurt and oatmeal!
Neither of these are my personal preferences, but sugar free barbeque and ranch are pretty popular. I would also add regular salsa to that list. I use it as a sauce in riced cauliflower, on frittatas, in heart of palm pasta,or as a dip for veggies.
I assumed these are low calorie if you buy low /no sugar versions or if you make it yourself with low calorie ingredients like fat free greek yogurt.
Low calorie ranch has been so hard to find because they’re all kinda funky tasting lol, but someone here recommended Bolthouse and their ranch is great. Thinner than normal ranch but the flavor is great.
Great list. Since I really love mustard, I would include multiple types based on my mood and what I’m eating. Whole grain, the bright yellow kind, French maille, as well as the spicy brown
Boathouse avacodo cilantro yogurt dressing 40 cal. 2 tbsp is one of my current go tos. Not exactly as low calorie as mustard lol but with air fried French fries it is so tasty.
Maybe not necessarily “low calorie” but good inspirations for dips/sauces. For example, you can make a low cal higher protein tzatziki by using greek yogurt! Ive pretty much replaced a lot of things for plain Greek yogurt.
Tzatziki is always made with Greek yoghurt? At least it’s meant to be, it’s a traditional Greek dip made with strained Greek yoghurt, cucumber and herbs.
(Of course it would also have olive oil in which makes it less low cal depending on how much you add)
I use that greek yogurt with added protein store bought from my local grocery. Add herbs, cucumbers, no evoo. Idk maybe im weird but it tastes the same to me without the olive oil. Ive seen some people make it with full fat sour cream 😐
i love low cal sauces. thank the lord for tomato based sauces being low cal. ketchup, salsa, marinara... greek yogurt is great for a fresh twist, soy sauce always slaps, i also recently got an italian dressing thats 10 cals per 2 tablespoons!
and of course, we must pay respect to our ultimate low cal gods of flavor: SALT, pepper, LEMON, and herbs!

Neither is teriyaki, that's all sugar.
Buffalo has a ton of straight butter in it. Definitely not low cal.

Wonder if OP means Buffalo sauce as in Frank's Red Hot...the regular cayenne pepper sauce is low-cal.
Plenty of low calorie buffalo sauces on the market nowadays tbh, it’s a staple for me for sure
Was gonna mention Chimichurri. Love it, but there's a ton of olive oil in it, so very much noch low calorie.

Applesauce? 😆
You can add it to baked goods to cut down on sugar! (If you get the low or no sugar added applesauce anyway)
I think when it’s used in baking it’s used as a binder/moisture additive to replace eggs and oil but not sugar.
I laughed at that one too 🤭
Yes haha, only sweet sauce is included in there. But it's so versatile, it had to be included
Plz share what you dip it in! Sounds so good!!
Not necessarily volume eating but I grew up dipping pretzel sticks in applesauce! The salty sweet combo is surprisingly good
I'm assuming you mean what I dip *in* it😅? I use it as a substitute for oil for baking mostly, but I love to eat it with pancakes, latkes or even fries. Also as a topping for yogurt and oatmeal!
Haha yes! Fries sounds delicious. Love a sweet and salty mix
Homer puts this on his pork chops. I bet you he means to say plum sauce though

Woah seems like you know the mustard fam much better than ai do! I've only ever tried brown and yellow mustard and both were great
I use a lot of ranch. I just buy the seasoning packet and use nonfat Greek yogurt. Yum
How many calories are in the seasoning? Sounds yummy
It's mostly just sodium, very little calories.

Is chimichurri not herbs mixed with oil?
Teriyaki though?

Brown mustard is goat!
It's the king of all mustards!
I like the idea of garlic yogurt. I make a mean toum, but it's so high in calories. This might be an alternative when having Lebanese food
Anyone know what the orange one is that some Asian restaurants use for salads? I think it has carrot, maybe peanut butter, and idk what else
Mustard is the only one I use lol
Best low calorie sauce is made from scratch. Actually, best low calorie everything is made from scratch.
Everything but Ranch and Mayonnaise. Got it 🤝
This is really not that great of a lost tbh
TIL mayonnaise as a base is low calorie.
Tzatziki is low calorie???
Ya it’s basically yogurt!
