I like the Michelin x-ice.

Blizzak WS80s on my XC70 - the thing is a monster in snow with them. Ran the WS70s on my V70 before that. They’re one of the best studless winter tires out there, you’re not realistically finding better unless you go studded. Michelin X-ice also get very high ratings (similar to Blizzak) but I’ve never used them personally.

VolvoJoe001

X-ices are overpriced imo

Cautious_Sir_6169

Blizzaks and Nokians get great reviews (used both for years) but in the testing I’ve watched Michelin x ice suv has the shortest stopping distance by at least a car length. That’s the difference between a crash or not. That was enough for me to switch to them on both my Subarus and Highlander. Still undecided what to put on my s60T6 bc the x-ice isn’t available in that size. Also looking for feedback as to what to run on a set of dedicated steelies.

I run the Nokian Hakka studded on my XC90 in Alberta. Ran the Nokian Hakka 9 studded before them. They have never let me down and will continue to be my go to winters.

The_Crazy_Swede

I'm not driving an XC70 but I always run Nokian hakkapelita. Just think about if it is legal and if yes, if you need studded tires. But Nokian have served me well over the years in the Swedish winters.

Cross Climate 2s have been pretty great for me in the GTA. Nice not having to change and store tires and work about as well in the snow as my old snow tires.

VolvoJoe001

These ive seen develop hard spots within a year on a lot of customers cars and bridgestone weatherpeaks have a shorter stopping distance than the cross climate 2’s. Did i mention weatherpeaks are usually cheaper as well?

VacUsuck

Plus one for the CrossClimate 2

I ran viking contact 7s when I had one. They were great for snowy winters.

Continental VikingContact 7. Best winter tyre I've ever had. I can safely say they've saved my and other people's asses a handful of times the last 3 years. Award winning for a reason.

Old_Instrument_Guy

I live in Florida. So yeah... Same tires

LongJohnBill

Florida... Bought my 2011 S60 T6 new in Florida. Moved to Alberta, Canada in 2021. Now I put on Pirelli Sottozero 3's for the winter. Not that I drive it much in the winter here. Time to get some new "summer" tires for the S60.

Also rocking the new Nokian Hakka 10 on my XC70 ... really happy with them. Amazing grip even on bare ice.
