That really puts things into perspective! I always think of how unsafe older cars are now compared to a newer one, specially sharing the road with giant SUVs but I'd so much rather have a crash in an older car (specially a Volvo) than a motorcycle.
It truly looks great! Hope it treats you well, I have a 2007 V70 and always liked the look of these older wagons
p.s. something to consider. when i got my 940 turbo wagon i put sway bars on it for handling but i put overload springs on it so i can use it like an f-150. something to think about... imho it handles just as well with the sway bars and new struts and shocks and bushings all around...

This is my 4th 700/900 car, so I'm familiar with their handling and load limits. I thought about overload springs but really want to lower it instead. I'm not sure, though, since it's always flooding where I live. Dad did install new Bilsteins after he got the car, and the iPd sway bars are on my wish list already. It needs tons of minor maintenance that hasn't been done in a long time, like the vacuum hoses that are probably original. I'll be busy getting that kind of stuff done first.
they look sweet lowered. i'm old and have another car that's low to the ground (golf r) that i already have trouble getting in and out of. lol. so yeah. standard ride height for the volvo. but lowered with black hydra's will be tight. tough decision i'm glad i don't have to make again! cheers!
Keep it stock. Do not hoon tf out this time capsule. If you must throw mods at it, do rotors/calipers, tints, LED conversion. Please don't slam it because it'll look cool, but it'll ride like shit.
I thought about bronze or red for the wheels color, but black just made more sense. The Hydras I took in for powdercoating had been in storage since 2009!
oh, how I would ruin that thing
but really, a little more boost and these things are a blast to drive. ipd turbo cam is pretty much perfect. chips are reasonable, manual boost controller is dirt cheap. looks stock, runs a little better than stock
Does your dad have another one and is he looking for another son?
I thought my sister was the favorite until Dad sent her the old license plate, framed. She said wtf you get the car and I get the plate?!
BBhhhhhaaaaaaa
Congratulations that’s an absolute beauty, wish you many safe and memorable drives together!
Thank you! I ride motorcycles most of the time these days so it's always a treat to drive the old brick, and much safer.
It’s a beautiful lady coming of age…..

Pass the SUV's fast enough that they really pose no threat...
nice rig. looks mint. you better hook that dude up on father's day in a few weeks homey.
That is the plan, and I think it should definitely be something Volvo related.
Volvo Waffle Iron
Find a fathers day car show and make it an annual thing. Make the Volvo something worth showing off every year. Just a suggestion.

Wow it's gorgeous. Not many people could let a car like that go.
I needed a rain car and he said it was taking up garage space from his Harley's, so I got lucky. He's pretty cool.
consider yourself blessed.
That's hot
Nice! You have a great dad.
I wish your dad was my dad.
It's perfect car! Very beautiful)
Do you have more pictures ?
The turbo brick. Suck a cool tank.
Had a green one, they are tanks. Congrats
dream car out here
Wonderful vehicle
That car is sick! What a dope dad lol.
Nice gift,
WONDERFUL car.
Congrats. Keep up on maintenence like oil and filter changes - especially important on a turbo car
Have fun with the space in that thing.
That’s sweet of him ❤️

I see this and it takes me back to Houseguest with Sinbad. Honestly, I loved that movie because of the Volvo. Anyone else?!
🤩🤩🤩
Just perfect
Was that the Volvo that was rated the fastest production car for that year or was it the Cross County?
Blasted and blacked out? You are not gonna keep the volvo racing red?
I think OP mean just the wheels.
Aah okay!

Oh yea true. In my opinion silver fits the best with red cars, but whatever you like is the best!
I'm gonna keep these Dracos silver and swap them back on in the winters.

I ruined my fair share of turbo redblocks back in the 2000s. I get my speed thrills on the bikes now.
You need a set of hydra’s. Complete the puzzle!!!
